I'd be too afraid I'd poke myself with pins!
I have this bad habit of putting my pen in my mouth when I'm at work, I think it's a way to cope with trying to do too much at once because I really don't need to. That or to keep others from stealing it. But since I work with car parts my hands are always grimy, greasy, oily, dusty, or all of the above so it's really not good for me. >.>

Hey, Kat. I'm not sure. I should go check. We've been a bit rapid-fire over there, but it's not like our subplots have dovetailed yet, so... You might message her? :)
Do you mean writing by hand, or typing?

I will soon. I was just wondering what was going on. I should go look at the thread
writing. I mix the 'a' and 'y' into a 'g'

I'm not quite sure what the term "dovetail" means... this is the second time I've seen it today and today's the first day I've ever seen it!
All kinds of silly things can happen when writing by hand in a hurry.

Oh, yeah. I guess I can picture an a-y hybrid. Heh.
"Dovetail" in this case refers to subplots coming together. (At least, that's my understanding...)

dovetail meand to fit together like a dovetail joint used in fine carpentry one peice of wood is triangle shaped (like a dovetail) and it fits in a matching hole which then locks the whole joint tightly together

I mess up when writing all the time. typing is its own disaster for me though. I'm very dyslexic when typing!!

I like that imagery, Saiyana. And it works, too. I don't usually picture subplots as pieces of wood, but... cool. I've only ever seen the word in reference to subplots, especially those which haven't come together yet. As in, "I really hope these bits of story dovetail at some point."

Earlier today I read a fanfic and the author's note at the beginning said "I dovetailed it right onto the end of the show," or something like that. It was just strange to out of the blue see that phrase twice like that. XD
I make the same typing mistakes all the time, for I while I even had Word set to auto correct "teh" into "the" because it was too much trouble to fix it all the time. But then I realized I'd never stop doing that if I didn't force myself to correct it myself so I don't allow Word to auto correct anything for me anymore.

yeah, I got really bad with the autocorrects, then I started using email to rp and I had to use a spell check. I think I got better at typing, but I've always had issues typing because. not becuase. I always have a word of the month for misspelling every time I type it.

I've just realized how spoiled I've been with spell check. Or maybe just right click. I'm not sure. I'm still learning to use this Mac, and I still haven't gotten a mouse for it. Pages (I'm kind of kicking myself, since Word would have been more practical) has a spellcheck function, but I haven't quite mastered it yet. As in, how to make it give you suggestions as you go. And it doesn't autocorrect "teh." So. Spoiled. XD

I'll... I'll spell out the word in my head while typing if it's a weird one I spell often. I actually pronounce "beautiful" as "be ee ay yuuuu tiful" like Jim Carey did in that movie where he was God for a little while. It really slows down my typing though, my fingers go so fast that sometimes my thoughts can't keep up! XD
Edit: I can't use a Mac very well... the one time I had to for school the Macs we had had mice with only one button. I went crazy for a long time because I'm so used to right clicking! XD

I'm opposite Nenna, my thoughts are whirlwinds compared to my slow fingers. Bruce Almighty?
I couldn't figure out a mac at all. I couldn't log out from one at school. It was pathetic.

Nan, that sounds like something out of Pride and Prejudice. Mr. Darcy would not approve. :p
I miss my right click. I need a two-button mouse when I get one. Mac has right-clicking support, I think. (And there's a very handy dictionary/thesaurus program to use in the meantime.)
Edit: And is that seriously the time? Okay, bed for me! Night!

Yes yes! Bruce Almighty!
If I couldn't type this fast I couldn't write at all. Back before I took the typing class I'd go so slow I could write by hand faster, and I have to write slowly or even I can't read my own writing. I should have tried taking a calligraphy class back then...

I can't use a touchpad. part of the reason though is that the scroll function never worked on mine.
I took typing classes....they didn't help. Rping actually gave me the practice I needed to get better.

well my typing class was wAAAy back in the 60's and I never did quite master the no looking at the keyboard part mostly because my little fingers weren't strong enough to hit the manual keyboard hard enough for the end letters. So although I don't hunt and peck , I do look up and down all the time

Yeah, the learning to type without looking is what really got my speed up! I've done it so much since I joined forums and had friends on IMs that I can't even remember what letters are wear unless I'm typing. XD
It's sad though, I never could learn to play the piano without looking so there was this wall I just couldn't get past to get better. I'm forever stuck at this kinda good but not really level.

I couldn't type in the dark my keyboard is black with skinny white letters. I always wanted to learn how to play the harp. My cousins all learned the piano I learned the Trombone.
