My parents believe what the church believes. *sigh* And they stereotype, too, which bothers me to no end. I love them and all, but sometimes I wish I had enough money to move out. College isn't letting me, though >_>;

I never tell people they're wrong, I just tell them why I can't be part of what they are. Let them be what they are as long as they don't try and force me into it ._.

I do feel very sorry for gay people. Most churches are too strict in their teachings. My in-laws are very opinionated, and very bigoted. I cringe quite often when they start getting on their high horse about it.

But I'm afraid I would rather have peace in the family, so I just keep my mouth shut, and neither agree nor disagree with them. I am such a coward at times.

It's not about being a coward Gramma, it's about weither you're getting into a conflict or discussion or avoid the situation so things cool down.

I must say I never tell anyone that their wrong to believe or so either, yet I do tell it's wrong to force one to believe while he or she might have a totally different voice. A friend of mine once was a good christian girl and everything, but she turned muslim when she became 18 o.o;; things like that you know x3

I tend to silence also since I hate conflicts and discussions. People are soooo desperate for having THEIR right being the right one, which bugs me to the bone. Therefor I just say what's on my mind, which isn't good yet isn't wrong either.

I agree, I wouldn't want to fight with them either.
I don't like getting into those kinds of arguments

Granny is not a coward! ;_;

I just think that each person has their own way about living their lives. I take it you're more peaceful than me, because if I disagree with someone, and they make it a point to make me angry, then I WILL bite back. There are certain things that should never be said in front of me because of this. Thing is, I tend to snap back at people that are close to me because I care for them enough that their beliefs disappoint me more than if it were just a stranger.

I asked my parents to prove to me how not allowing gay marriage is NOT discrimination. They said "because they're different from us". My response was something like: "you just proved my point."

It's nice to talk about things with someone other than my parents. They just snap back at me and tell me I'm wrong without actually being able to defend themselves. My mother literally laughed in my face once, as if that proved she was right and I wasn't ._.

Aw it's not cowardice if you want the people you love to be happy.

I was never really religious, Since about 3rd grade I had nuns telling me I was going to hell because I had a different belief structure then what they taught me. Whoops.
I grew up and found a religion that suited my beliefs better.
I don't see a problem with people of different belief systems, so long as you are true to yourself and do't do human sacrifice, I have no issues.

I tried for over 25 years to be a full participant in my religion. It just didn't work for me. So, instead of focusing on why it's a wrong thing in general, I tend to encourage people to be the best they can within their religious beliefs. It makes no sense to me to try to influence people away from their beliefs - if they believe, and do so from a position of love and not fear, then I rally behind them. It's not my place to judge, but I also am very firm in my own peculiar beliefs and find that religion and spirituality - where I live - tends to cause a dividing line between people.

I'm a Heathen, meaning that I focus my beliefs on my ancestors, myself and pre-Christian, Northern European gods. Honor, self-determination, honesty, community, family... all that kind of thing. Amazingly, I meet people that think I'm a witch. It's kind of funny. Now, if I could make money doing something like that, maybe so :) But, that's a lot of drama for me. Nope. I just thank my gods and ancestors daily for what I have, who I am, and so on and look for opportunities to build up my friends regardless of their beliefs on a daily basis.

Part of it is that I love learning more about people and what makes us so similar, yet so unique. Religion and spirituality are huge parts of peoples' lives. Even being agnostic or an atheist requires a person on some level to consider where they stand on the topic. Anyhow... enough from my pie-hole about this!

How about those pillows and the update?? Totally crazy stuff, and I feel so clueless right now about what I'm seeing in the event. I do like how the pillow and feathers makes it look like my birds are being whacked - in a funny, not mean way!

I guess it depends also the people who teach you the religion.
I've been on a couple different retreats and they make me always feel good when I come back home. Because on the retreats I went on, they never shoved the whole religion in your face. It was also more of a ...I guess it was a chance to let things out.

It's always good to keep an open mind.
Most of the problems in our world have been caused by people who are not willing to have an open mind and see other's points of view.

It's difficult on the white background to see the feathers flying around our heads.

On the event page, they have that horrid striped peach. I have so much difficulty reading those pages.

Go the the Valentine's Event Page in the General Discussion Forum.

At the right of the page showing the threads, you will find your stats, and then scroll down. There are a number of heart boxes. You must exchange feathers for a box.

I'm still trying to figure some of this out, poking around on the event pages... the stripes are really making my eyes spaz a bit. In a way, it's easier to view the striped pages without my glasses on, though.

The event item is really cute! I like that they give us multi-pose items, and we only need one in order to equip our avatars. Some sites won't do that with multi-pose items.

It's all very cute.
You can even hold two pillows if you like.
