I've never actually experienced dry heat so I don't know if I would like it more or less. I'm from Michigan. With all these lakes it makes for very humid summers, but I haven't been to Texas so I don't know if it's worse there or here.

I haven't been to michigan but I bet we get some of the same because the warm humid air comes from off of the gulf.

I liked arizona. very pretty, but I got so sick and overheated.

Aw, see you BSW.

I actually like dry heat because then, shade matters, lol. =D

That would be interesting. Shade that's actually cool and not just a place to avoid sunburn.

I don't mix well with pools. D= Actually, they're also sort of expensive.

I prefer lakes. But I'm living in southern Michigan (and in the center too!) and there are no lakes around here! I'm not use to not having a lake just a couple blocks away or not being able to just drive an hour to get to Lake Michigan. I mean, yeah pools may be cleaner, but chlorine stings my eyes. =(

The apartment complex has a pool. I used it a bit last summer.

my friend doesn't use chlorine. she does some salt water thing and its nice. the ocean isn't too far away either, but that is far far nastier.

Same here, Taviren. I have a lake just down the street here, and am 45 minutes away from Lake Michigan. (I live northwest of Chicago.)

@Kat: Really? Huh. That's very intriguing. I'll have to find out what that's like sometime.

@Guivre: *nods* I miss my lakes. And kayaking. I miss that too. There's a big river here, but it's in a pretty urban area so I don't know if I'd be allowed to kayak down all parts of it. And I really have no place to store my kayak.

Kayaking on a lake is a lot harder than kayaking downriver. I managed all right on a nice inland lake, but I failed at trying to kayak on Lake Michigan. XD I don't have the arm strength for it.

Gosh, kayaking sounds fun. And that is interesting, Taviren.

I have somehow avoided water sports as I have avoided winter sports.

I tried water skiing and knee boarded and can't do those. I like tubing

kayaks are those little ones that you have to have your legs straight out in front of you right?

Yup. They aren't all little, but the ones my mom and I have are the small, open ones. That is to say, in most kayaks your legs are inside the kayak, but ours your legs are on top of it (there is no inside). At camp they were called funyaks. XD

Lol wow. I'm guessing those are safer?

Btw, I am proud of myself. I finally found where to fix the time stamp so all the posts don't read European time. That only took forever.

Y'know, I actually don't know if they're safer or not. It probably depends on what kind of waters you're kayaking in. But they're smaller and lighter than the normal kind of kayaks, which means Mom and I can each carry our kayaks by ourselves.

Congrats. XD

Ohhh. Well that makes sense too, about the funyaks. =D

I just googled them and I think I have to try them now.

This is what came up:

Bit of a different design than mine, but yeah, that's basically it. XD They're a lot of fun.
