Slyth had let himself lay down again, as he caught site of Dannyl moving about. He was about to ask for some water when the man came over, cup of water in hand. Sly thankfully took the water and drank it down. He did so slowly, so as not to cause a coughing fit, which would surly cause plenty of pain. Dispite the water being warm, it was like drinking the waters of heaven, delicious, wet water.
Once the water was gone, Slyth finally looked to Dannyl and spoke, "Not as much.. pain as I expected.. considering..." Slyth said as he shifted his gaze to stare at the ceiling. "I'm sorry about taking your bed... I can sleep on the floor." He said as he looked back. He would much rather sleep apon the floor than steal Dannyl's bed and make the man sleep on chair propped agianst the wall.

"That's good," he said, before biting into the apple. There were sort of on the turn, softer than he really liked them, but juicy and tasty still.

"Don't be silly," he said when Slyth said he would lay on the floor. "That will just put you in more pain. Besides, I won't normally sleep on a chair, I just didn't want to sleep soundly incase you woke and needed me."

He had thought long and hard about how he was going to avoid him finding out about his 'condition' and the only thing he could think of was to disappear. He really didn't want to but what could he do? Tonight he would grow a wolf's tail. Once that happened there was no way he could hide what he was.

"I don't mean to... upset you, but I need to know. Do you know the name of the one that's hunting you? I... I need to leave for a week, but I won't be far. I'll be able to protect this place and the surrounding areas, and it will be even easier if I know who it is," he said. He suspected that he could quite possibly know this person and if it was a lycan like him, there was no doubt that Slyth would hate him if he found out that he was one as well and, not only would he leave but could do serious further injury to himself by trying to do so.

"But I don't want to.. take up your only bed.." Slyth said as he smiled lightly. But, the smile completly vanished from his face when Dannyl asked about the name of the one who was hunting him. Slyth shook his head lightly and closed his eyes. "I don't know his name.. I only know what he is." He sighed lightly, trying not to let the tears come as they threatened. He hadn't thought so much about his parents and family for so long. He generally tried to avoid thinking about them and just set his mind to keep moving. But now that he was stuck here, it was very difficult.
He looked to the man strangly when he said he had to leave for a week yet he would still be around. That didn't make much sense to him, "Why do you have to leave?" He asked turning his mind away from his family to focus his attention to Dannyl.

"I just... can't stay inside for a while, that's all," he said uncomfortably. "It's just for a week and then I'll be back to normal and can come back, alright?" Of course it didn't really matter if it wasn't alright, he couldn't stay here anyway.

He was a little disappointed that Slyth didn't know the name of the one who hunted him but it couldn't be helped. He would just mark out his territory and defend it. And, naturally, resist the hunger that grew within him.

"I'll fashion a crutch for you today so that you can move around, get things to eat or whatever but you should use the time to rest quietly. That's the best thing for broken ribs especially. But if you need me, and I mean seriously need me like if you start coughing blood or something, then just call out for me and I'll hear and come back," he said. He decided that on a whim but thought it was probably best anyway. So long as Slyth didn't abuse it and call him back for any little thing.

Slyth gave a slight nod. He still didn't understand why and Dannyl seemed to be trying really hard to keep some sort of secret. What sort of secret would cause him to have to leave for a week though? Slyth didn't know and he didn't even try to figure it out. If the man wanted to keep his secret that was fine, seeing as slyth had only met the man anways.
"Don't worry. I won't bother you." He smiled lightly as he closed his eyes to let himself rest for a bit. Dispite feeling wide awake, Slyth managed to fall asleep in only a few short minutes.

Dannyl smiled greatfully when Slyth said he wouldn't press him, accepting his need for this secret. He knew it couldn't remain a secret for long. If Slyth did stay here a while he would at least begin to see a pattern in his 'disappearances' and his eyes changing colour, and if he got a 'visitor' that he had to defend against he would be found out in an instant. "Thank you," he said, but his thanks fell on deaf ears as Slyth had already fallen asleep.

Smiling he stood and moved outside. He may as well get a few things done so he went outside and to his wood pile, pulling out a few good pieces, figuring he should make another chair as well as the crutch. He would wait until after his cycle had finished before considering whether he would need another bed. It would take at least a month or two for Slyth's injuries to heal and who knew what might happen by then.

He spent the next couple of hours making these items, starting with the crutch. When it was finished, he leant it against the wall to start work on the chair. It would be uncomfortable to use with no padding for under the arm but he didn't have time to hunt, skin, dry and fit a sheepskin for padding. If he still needed it by the time he turned back he would do so then.

When the sky was starting to be stained pink he went back inside. He had finished a second chair but he still had to sand and stain it and had a basket in one hand with freshly gathered apples which he upended into the barrel by the fire.

"I have to go now," he said to Slyth. "There are fresh apples there and another outside of fresh rainwater. Help yourself to anything you may need or any herbs or whatever." He placed the crutch next to the bed within easy reach so he could get out and about later.

"You'll be alright?" he asked, reluctant to leave but knowing the moon wouldn't wait for him to be ready. Still he wanted to make sure there was nothing else he could do for him.

Slyth had slept quite awhile, and woke while Dannyl was still outside. He sat himself up as best he could, which wasn't all that well but enough so that he could look around the room better. He had only just sat up and propped himself against the wall for support when Dannyl came back inside with the crutch, apples and chair. Slyth gave a small, though sad, smile to the man as he said it was time to go. Slyth didn't want to be alone in such a weak state as he was, but this man had to do what it was he had to do. So, "I"ll be fine." He said with a slight nod.

Dannyl hesitated but already he could feel the twinges at the base of his spine that warned of his tail growing. He had to leave now. He gave a single nod and said, "I'm sorry about this," before walking out without a further word. He strode as far away from his house as he dared. It was still within sight but far enough away that he was hidden. He took his clothes off and folded them neatly, hanging them in a nearby tree so that he could come back for them later.

That night his tail grew, a fairly painful process but not too bad as far as transformations go, and he became slightly more hairy. The moon wasn't completely full yet after all. He spent the day idly wandering around, making sure his scent was on everything.

The following night his first full transformation took place. The first was always the worst and screams that were not quite human erupted from his throat, unable to stop them. The screams turned to howls as the transformation neared its completion until there was a full lycan laying on the grass panting slightly with exertian and pain. Instantly the need to hunt and to find fresh meat consumed him and he ran through the forest, hunting, including any humans who were unlucky enough to be in the forest at this time of month. He recognised the smell of fresh meat and helplessness from the house but his human side strongly resisted him going anywhere near there so that one was safe. For now at least. And then every morning he would turn back to be at least slightly more human by day, only to turn back again at night.

By around the third night though, lycan-Dannyl sensed an intruder to his land, and not just the humans he hunted or the strangely delicious smelling being in the hut. This was another such as himself, another blood-frenzied lycan.

Instantly he rushed in to attack - he must defend his land against all intruders, no matter the cost. There was also a residue feeling of needing to protect something but that was unimportant to his wolf self. This was a young wolf, newly changed, he could tell, still clumsy in his body. Lycan-Dannyl smirked inwardly to himself. Well he was about to get a lesson in pain.

He charged, his teeth going for the foe's throat. He missed but got his shoulder. This one, despite his youth, seemed to be a good fighter, or he just let the monster within him take control. Either way lycan-Dannyl underestimated him and, while he eventually killed him amongst plenty of yelps and grows, he also sustained some injuries, nasty claw scratches to his side and a bite to his forearm. He barely felt it though in this form. When he changed back, however, as the dawn came though, it hit and he staggered to a creak to wash the blood from his body, both his own and that of the intruder's.

The rest of the week passed without any further incident, leaving Dannyl injured, aching and exhausted by the end of it. He went to his clothes and put them on before going back to his house, entering the front door and collapsing infront of he the fireplace exhausted. He knew he had to tend to his injuries properly, they were getting slightly infected but he would do it when he woke, he was too tired now; the change always took a lot out of him and, while it wouldn't if he didn't fight so hard against eating anyone, he did his best not to give in to that instinct. In his exhaustion he had forgotten all about Slyth.

Slyth watched the man leave, and prepared himself to alone for a week without traveling. He knew it was going to be difficult but he had no idea at the time how frightened he would be in the next couple days. So, after Dannyl had left, slyth sighed out and lay back down on the bed. So much more comfortable than sitting upright. He had drifted to sleep after awhile, as his mind was to active for sleeping straight away.

The next morning, Slyth awoke a just after dawn, his body forcing him awake from hunger and thirst. He looked around slowly before carefully pushing himself up. His chest still hurt alot but it was slightly more barable than his leg at least. He groaned as he took the crutch and pushed himself up from the bed. First, he went to get some water, after hobblign his way outside to the water barrel. He forgot to grab a cup. "Oh well." He said to himself as he dipped his head down to the water and drank straight from the barrel. He looked around after he was done, as if hoping to see Dannyl, before he went inside to grab himself some apples. He got as much as he could carry while using the crutch before returning to the bed and dropping them down at the end of the bed.
He huffed as he sat down and put the crutch back against the wall before eating half the apples he grabbed. He then laid himself down and rest for another few hours before repeating the process.

That night, he awoke in complete and utter terror as he heard the all to familiar howling sounds. His heart jumped to his throat as tears sprung to his eyes. He was sure it was the one who had been hunting him. It found him and he could not escape. Dispite this, Slyth did what his first instinct said. Close the door. As he had left it open the last time he came back inside. He got up as quickly as he could in his condition and hobbled to the door as fast as possible before slamming it shut. He even grabbed Dannyls first chair and jammed it against the door. He knew it wouldn't help but he did feel very slightly better. From there, he hid under the bed, dispite the pain it caused to his chest and leg. He cowered and cried through the night, unwilling to let himself fall asleep.

At some point shortly before dawn, Slyth fell asleep, feeling somewhat calmer. Afterall, the lycan hadnt' come to get him yet and it would be a bit weak during the day. So, he got himself out from under the bed. His body was sore from staying under the bed so long, but he didn't mind so much. He got himself up and ate some apples before thinking of what to do. He wasn't tired, and he knew he wouldn't be able to fall asleep unless it forced itself over him. So, he went to doing some small things around the home. He only risked going outside once to grab as much water as possible before closing the door and propping the chair against it once more.

During the nights, Slyth curled up under the blankets on the bed, as if that would help keep the lycan from finding him if it made its way to the home. At some point during one night, he awoke to the sounds of two lycan's fighting. He didn't know what to make of this, though he desperately hoped they would both kill eachother.

During the days of the rest the week, Slyth walked around a bit more, his leg was starting to feel a bit better and his breathing had eased. He also took to finnishing the chair Dannyl had nearly completed. He found something to sand it with and did that before staining it to the best of his ability. it looked splotchy but he figured it would be fine and Dannyl would be glad.

At the end of the week Dannyl had needed, Slyth finally took the chair from the door so that it could be opened from the outside, afterall he didnt' want to lock dannyl out. After that he went outside to grabe some water as well as get himself a nice helping of grass. He had gone a week without it and his body was staring to feel the effects. He plucked as much grass as he could before returning inside and leaving it in a nice pile beside the bed.
Just a few minutes later, Dannyl came in and simply collapsed to the ground. Slyth let out a startled mooing sound as he grabbed his crutch and hobbled over to the fallen man. "Dannyl? Are you okay?" Obviously not, slyth thought with a shake of his head. The small cow then held out his arm and small cows seemed to suddenly start growing from him before transfering to Dannyl. They were very small and light so Dannyl would unlikely be able to feel them wandering around his wounds. After arriving at varius wounds, the cows shrunk away back to their orriginal sizes and assisted in the fighting of bacteria and the healing of the wounds. While the tiny cows did this, slyth got a cup and filled it with water before brining it back. He placed it by Dannyl before grabbing a couple apples for the man and putting them beside the water.
Then, he sat down, waiting for the man to wake.

Dannyl was so deeply asleep that even if the tiny cows were heavy enough to be felt he wouldn't have woken. They did their job well, helping ward against some of the infection.

It was several hours before Dannyl woke, around midday, and he looked around with some confusion. He barely remembered even coming back here let alone not being in his bed and with apples and water next to him. Pushing himself over so he lay on his back, his eyes roamed around until they fell on Slyth. He smiled, memories coming back to him now.

"You're still here," he said, sounding a little surprised at the fact. He thought he would have run by now, especially from the noise he had made and the fight leaving him with the injuries he had now. "Are you alright? You weren't hurt at all?"

Slyth had been dozing lightly in his upright position. He had left Dannyl's side only once while the man was asleep on the floor, to grab the blanket from the bed and drap it over him. After that, he stayed by him silently. So, when Dannyl suddenly spoke, slyth jumped a bit and his eyes shot open. He had a very surprise look plastered on his face for a moment before it softened and a happy smile over came him. "I'm fine, but your not. Do you think you can get up? I think its your turn for the bed." He continued to smile as he took hold of his crutch and pulled himself up to his feet. He waited to see if Dannyl could get himself up from the floor. If Dannyl couldn't he would have some cows grow large enough to carry the man to the bed.

"That's good," he said, relieved that he had prevented any attack. He highly doubted the one he had killed was the one chasing Slyth, he was too young and inexperienced, but he couldn't be sure that he had defended against all attacks so was glad when he had.

He waved his hand in dismissal when Slyth started fussing over him. True, he didn't normally end up injured at the end of a cycle but they weren't life threatening, especially now the infection had been cured. He sat up, gasping slightly at the sudden pain in his side but he ignored it, instead drinking some of the water and pulling the nearby medical supplies to him.

Taking off his shirt, he first wrapped the bandages around the claw scratches before examining the bite mark on his forearm. It didn't look infected (he didn't know about the tiny cows' work) so to protect it he just bandaged that too. "How's your leg and ribs?" he asked as he did this.

Then he caught sight of the finished chair and smiled. It was well done, for a beginner too. "You've finished the chair. Thank you," he said.

Slyth watched as Dannyl wrapped the scratches and bite marks in bandages. He hadn't noticed what the wounds were from as they were all covered. But now he could clearly see they were from a very large animal. Fear tinted into his eyes for a few moments before he forced it away. If a lycan attacked Dannyl he would be dead, It must have just been a wolf. Slyth tried to convince himself, but it was difficult.
Then he was asked about his leg and ribs. Slyth looked down at himself before looking to Dannyl. "Their fine. Should be completely better by the end of the week." He smiled as he turned to look to the chair, as he noticed Dannyl looking at it. He smiled brightly, "I didn't have much else to do this week.." His smile faded as he recalled the fright he had been though, knowing there were lycans out there while Dannyl was gone. And that made his mind wander back to the wounds on Dannyl. He really did hope it was just the work of a large wolf...

Dannyl became aware of Slyth's attention on his injuries and mentally kicked himself; he really was tired if he was so foolish as to reveal injuries from a fight with a lycan to him. But he didn't ask about them so Dannyl didn't mention them.

"I am sorry about that," he said sincerely. He didn't like leaving him alone, especially when he was injured, but it had been essential, if he hadn't besides scaring him, he wasn't sure he would have been able to restrain attacking him. It had been hard enough resisting as it was.

Then it clicked what Slyth said and he said, "So fast," in astonishment. He laughed with a half chuckle and said, "Any human it would take months. But then, you're not exactly a complete human are you," he said, a small smile on his face.

Slyth shook his head gently, his smile returning to his face. "Don't be sorry. Its my fault for getting hurt and burdening you with my presence." He then frowned lightly when Dannyl seemed to imply that Slyth was part human. "I have no human blood in me" He frowned, much like a child would when you said something they thought was stupid. "I am a Cow. Seeeeee, Spots," He motioned to the spots on his hands, "Hooves," He held out his hands to him, "Tail," He said as swished it behind him, "And horns." He rose his hand to his hair and parted it a bit. The horns were small, but they were noticablly there when his hair was parted. "Nothing human about me."

This time it was Dannyl's turn to be confused. "Yes, I see that, and they're very cute," he added with a cheeky grin, his tiredness making him somewhat silly or perhaps just punch drunk, "but you have human traits too. You walk upright like humans and speak as we do as well." The thought struck him that perhaps Slyth didn't realise that he had some differences to normal field cows.

"Just because humans walk upright does not mean i'm one of them." Slyth frowned, "Just because pigs and horses walk on all fours does not mean their the same thing." Slyth crossed his arms now, though still made sure the crutch wasn't going to fall over now that he wasn't holding it. He was leaning on it a bit though. "And really, just because I speak like them as well does not mean anything. I was forced to learn by my owner. I am a cow, nothing else."

Dannyl looked at Slyth for a long time and wondered whether he had ever seen a real cow, considering he seemed so convinced that that was all he was. Maybe he should show him one, now that he didn't have to stay away from people for the next three weeks. There was a farm near here that he sometimes stole into at night to... commandeer some of their crop or liberate the cows of some milk. Eventually he gave a one shouldered shrug, dismissing the matter for now at least.

"Your owner?" he asked. "Were you a slave?" Such things weren't uncommon, he saw a number of runaway slaves try to make their escape through this forest and, unless it was that time of the month, he left them alone.

A look of utter and complete confusion struck Slyths face as Dannyl asked if he was a slave. "Whats a slave?" He asked as he stared with blank confusion. "I don't think I was one of those.. I lived on a farm. Farmer was my owner. Just like he owned all the rest of my family, all the pigs, horses and chickens." He then laughed, "Have you never seen a farm before?" He shook his head and covered his mouth to try and stiffle down the giggles that were comeing up.

"A slave is not a good thing to be, it's where you're owned by someone, you have no rights and are often treated very badly," he explained.

He seemed relieved though that Slyth didn't think he was that. But then he remembered that he had said his family had been killed. Now he was a little confused as to whether that family was human or cow or some hybrid like he was but it hardly mattered as this farmer was probably included in them. His eyes narrowed a little when Slyth started giggling at him, no matter how hard he tried to stop it, and made his decision then.

He stood up and said, "Of course I've seen a farm. Come on, I'll show you." He wrapped an arm around Slyth's waist and bent over to pick him up, taking hold of the crutch as well. It hurt his injuries a little but he was well used to pain and it wasn't like Slyth was heavy, especially to a lycan, so he left the cabin and started walking the short way towards the farm. It wasn't too long till it came into sight and the fenced field where what Dannyl called cows grazed contendedly. Here by the fence he put him down, gently and carefully so as not to jar his ribs or leg, and handed him his crutch if he wanted it.

"They are what I call cows and, I'm sure you can see them too, that while they share traits with you, they aren't really the same," he said.

The giggling stopped when Dannyl suddenly got up then came and picked slyth up from where he stood. He let out a suprised sound at that. "I-I can walk he said as he struggled slightly. He couldn't really struggle all to much or else he would hurt himself, and he knew it. So eventually he just let Dannyl carry him without resisting. When they came to the fenced off field slyth's eyes widened with happy. "A Farm!" He said excitedly as he wriggled himself free of Dannyl's arms as the man put him down and handed him the crutch.
He paused though, he had never seen those large animals before that were grazing out there. And apon hearing they were cows Slyth looked to Dannyl with a frown. "Those aren't cows." He shook his head, "I'm a cow." He looked back though. They did hold similarities to him. The horns, skin, hoovs and tail. "Hey! They look like my little friends!" He said after a few moments. A smile returned to his face, "Awww, those ones seem to be free ones." He smiled as he went to the fence and wriggled his way through it and into the field. He then grabbed his crutch from where it fell to the ground while he wriggled into the field.
Once in the field, Slyth let out a moo, calling the cows to him. Thats how he would talk to 'his little friends' and since these ones looked the same, he figured they would respond in the same way. As he moo'd some of the cows started wandering over, releasing their own moo's.

Dannyl grinned and laughed at Slyth's eagerness. Though what he said confused him a little. It became clear that he had never seen real cows but had been told that he himself was a cow by this farmer. "Little friends?" he asked curiously. He hadn't been awake to see the tiny cows earlier so had no idea what he was talking about. Maybe something from his past?

He leant on the fence as he watched Slyth. Seeing him laugh and smile like that Dannyl felt an unfamiliar skip in his heart. He frowned. He shouldn't be feeling any kind of real affection towards this boy, for that's all he was, seven years younger than Dannyl. But he couldn't deny that he was increadibly adorable there with the cows, mooing to them in some kind of conversation...

Dannyl shook his head. He was being stupid. How could any kind of relationship be founded on lies? And there was no way someone as sweet and innocent as Slyth would want to go out with a murderous lycan like himself. He was condemned to a life of loneliness especially now his clan had forsaken him. Really he should leave Slyth here with the farm where he was undoubtedly happy. He might even be able to visit so long as he stayed away from the farmer who knew he had a habit of... borrowing with no intention of returning some things from here. His face turned sad as he thought this. He liked Slyth's company but, like all things he should ask if he would be happier here.

After a few minutes of mooing and making conversation with the cows of the field, Slyth turned to Dannyl and wore a small frown on his face as he hobbled his way back over to the fence and Dannyl. While he went some of the cows followed him over while others went back to their grazing. As Slyth got closer it was noticable he had a sad sort of look to his frown. "They say i'm not a real cow..." He sighed out before wriggling his way back through the fence to the other side. "They say they are the real cows..."

Dannyl forced his own troublesome thoughts away when Slyth approached with a saddened expression on his face. He nodded to what he said, silently agreeing but knowing that wasn't what Slyth needed to hear right then. Putting a comforting arm around his shoulders, Dannyl said, "It doesn't matter to me what you are. You are who you are and attaching a label to it isn't going to change that. And you'll always be welcome to stay with me as long as you need to. Though... if you would prefer to stay here on the farm I'm sure that could be arranged as well," he added, a little reluctantly but knowing he had to let Slyth decide.

"I don't want to stay at a farm with real cows. I belong in a farm that homes freaks of nature." He spoke almost bitterly as he took a tight grip on his crutch and started hobbling his way back towards Dannyl's house. It was obvious in his tone of voice he was so very close to crying. He had managed to hold back most his sadness untill he was at least facing away from Dannyl and the cows. As he started to hobble tears started to fall. He didn't make it to far though, as his crutch got caught between a couple exposed tree roots and he fell flat to his face. The pain came, and simply added to the tears that were already running down his face. He didn't care about falling, his mind was stuck to the fact that he had no idea what he was.
