Dannyl watched sadly as Slyth walked away, his words biting more than they normally should have. And the tone of voice said clearly that he was extremely upset. Which made Dannyl upset in sympathy. Seeing him fall heavily he hurried over and knelt next to him. He looked like a stunned and very young child right at that moment and Dannyl couldn't help but to help him up and wrap his arms around him in a cuddle, just sitting there on the ground like that.

"Shh, it's alright," he said softly, gently brushing his hair out of his eyes. "You cry as much as you want, okay? You'll always have me. And those little friends of yours," he hoped, considering he didn't know who they were, "and if you want, once you've healed so you can walk, we can try and find what you are, alright? We'll do it together, you're not alone in this." He thought that would probably be the main reassurance he could give, especially since he knew what it was like to not know what you were anymore. Well sort of. He knew he had been turned into a lycan but he had been unaware of what that entailed and no one had been willing to tell him. He just sat there holding Slyth close and trying to help him and reassure him.

For a moment, Slyth had attempted to bat Dannyl away from him, but he soon gave in and let the man pick him up from the ground. Slyth continued to cry, holding his chest while he did so as the sobbing was causing much more pain than normal breathing would. Slyth soon leaned himself into Dannyl's chest, as if trying to hide his tears and cover his crying.

Eventually, Slyth slowly calmed the tears and his breathing started to become more regular. He pushed himself away from Dannyl a bit, though his head hung low. He wiped his arms over his face, trying to finnish drying his face. "I"m sorry.." He spoke in such a low voice that it was hardly audible. He hadn't meant to start crying like that, he just couldn't help it at that moment.

Dannyl sat there, holding Slyth close, one hand rubbing up and down his back, soothing him. When he pulled away as the tears slowed, Dannyl let him. "It's alright," he said. "I know what it's like to suddenly find out your life is not what you thought it was or would be."

He fetched his crutch and handed it over as well as offering an arm to help him stand. "But I meant what I said before. If you want to stay with me you are welcome to." He didn't mention the one who was chasing Slyth, not wanting to rub salt into the wounds. He had a feeling Slyth wouldn't believe hat he could defend him until either he managed to kill the one who was chasing him or revealed his lycan affliction. And if he did find out he would probably hate him and leave anyway, he had smelt the fear when he had attacked the other lycan and that had lead him to believe it was probably a lycan who had destroyed his former life.

Slyth gratefully took the crutch as it was handed to him before pulling himself up to his feet. He was feeling slightly better now that he had let some of that emotional pressure get released. He eventually looked to Dannyl, a very small smile on his face, not happy one but more of a grateful one. "I.. I would like to stay.." his voice was very quiet again but he spoke loud enough for Dannyl to hear clearly what he had said. Slyth then started to make his way again back to Dannyl's house, this time being careful not to get his crutch stuck or knock it against anything to make him lose balance.

"I would like that too," Dannyl said as he followed Slyth back to his home. "I shall have to make another bed," he mused. It was not a chore though, he enjoyed working wood and turning it into useful items. The house was going to become probably a little crowded with the two of them but Dannyl didn't mind if it meant he could have some company.

Reaching his home, he said, "Why don't you go on inside and rest. I'll start making another bed." Of course if he didn't want to do that he was hardly going to try and force it.

He knew he wouldn't have any long straight boards for a bed so he would have to chop another tree down. He usually just used dead or dying trees but for something that had to be solid he would use alive trees. Remembering he had left his axe where Slyth had become trapped, he quickly went there to fetch it before going back to the cabin. He always used the trees surrounding his home for this kind of work, expanding his yard so to speak and so wandered around the circumference of his yard before finding a tall, straight tree and swinging the axe, cutting it down so that it fell parallel to the house before working at stripping the branches. At one point, he grew hot and removed his shirt revealing a number of light scratches from his latest stint in the forest, as well as a few old scars, the oldest being pale, shiney skin at the top of his shoulder in a bite mark. The very bite that turned him. His more serious injuries were bothering him, aching, but he liked to keep busy so just ignored it.

When the two reached the house, and Dannyl suggested Slyth get some rest. Slyth thought he should, though he wasn't exactly feeling to tired. Just sad. So, Slyth shook his head, He would watch as Dannyl made the bed and perhaps help if the man was willing to let him help. So, Slyth sat himself by the pile of firewood and watched while Dannyl roamed looking for a good tree to cut down. He watched silently, and a very slight twinge of fear jumped through him momentarily as he watched the tree fall to the ground. He almost laughed at himself for that, He was much to far away to get hit by the tree. Esspecially since it wansn't even falling in his general direction.

After awhile of simply sitting and watching, Slyth got up and hobbled over to Dannyl and the tree. "Do you.. want help with anything?" His voice was still somewhat down in the dumps, but the fact that he was willing to try to help meant he wasn't overly depressed about what had happened earlier.

Dannyl paused in his work, considering if there could be anything that Slyth could do, something that wouldn't get him in the way and wouldn't hurt him in any way. Which ruled out carving the wood in any way since that took strength and precision and, more importantly, the ability to easily move around.

"Are you any good with a needle and thread?" he asked. If he was he could start work on making the matterus. He would have to visit town to buy blankets but he had a stack of spare material, left over from when he made his own matteras. He didn't have much money so he would have to make a few things to trade for the blankets as well. It would be a lot of work and somehow he didn't think it would be ready for a few days. "Or maybe..." Looking around, he found a small chunk of solid wood that would be perfect for carving a little figurine. "You could gather a few of these? I can carve them to trade in town."

When Dannyl first suggested the needle and thread, Slyth was pretty sure that would involve the making of the matress. He could do something like that, afterall, he was pretty good with sewing. Seeing as he makes his own clothes. But, before he could answer, Dannyl came up with another suggestion, go get wood to carve things out of. "I would much rather sew.." He said with a slight shrug of his shoulders. "I would rather do that than roam around looking for good wood.."

Dannyl nodded, agreeing with what Slyth said, and said, "Inside in the cupboard there is a stack of material as well as a box with needles, thread, pins, scissors, anything you might need. The mattress will probably have to wait a couple of days to be stuffed since it will take too long dry out some hay, we'll just go in to town for it."

He spent the rest of the day cutting and shaping the wood and by late afternoon he had finished that part of the job but it was time to stop for the day, at least for now. Tonight he would sand and stain them inside by lamplight, but for now he had to make dinner.

Leaving his tools leaning against the outside of his cabin, he took the wood slats inside and stacked them neatly against a wall before taking a pot down. "What do you normally eat for dinner?" he asked Slyth as he filled the pot with water, putting it on the fire and adding an extra log to the flames. "I'm going to make a kind of stew, would you like that? It'll have fruit and herbs and vegetables and things in it, no meat." After gorging himself on meat over the past week, the last thing he wanted was any kind of meat.

Slyth nodded to Dannyl before hobbling away to the house to get what he would need. He would work outside, as he didn't want to work alone inside the house. So, he took a couple trips, bringing everything out before he set to get to work. The making of the Matress was so much easier than making clothing. All he really had to do was cut out two large rectangles, then two smaller for the length of the matress then another two for the width of it. After cutting everything out, Slyth went to putting it all together. It did take quite some time, as that was alot of sewing to be done.
He still had a couple more sides to finnish by the time Dannyl had suggested going inside. So, Slyth picked up what he could and took it inside, then made a second trip to grab whatever he had left. Once inside again, he put everything in an empty corner before goign over to his chair and taking a seat by the fire.
"I ussually just eat grass." Slyth said simply as he watched what Dannyl was doing. "As well as the occational apple."

"Grass?" Dannyl repeated with surprise, his eyebrows risen as he turns to face Slyth. Then it clicks and he grins. "Of course. Well I suppose that's always easy enough to manage. And the danger zone for lycans to attack has passed," he said.

"I'll be back in a moment," he said as he went outside to pull up some vegetables before taking it in, washing them, pealing them, and cutting them before dropping them into the pot of now simmering water, adding herbs and some sliced apples.

While that was cooking, lit the lamps since now it was growing dark and sat down in the other chair, pulling a piece of wood and started to sand it down. He was quiet most of this time, unused to people being around and not really knowing what to say.

While Dannyl was out grabbing the veggitables, slyth hobbled over to the bed and grabbed the remaining grass he had pilled by it before returning to his chair. He sat down and carefully put the grass on his lap, making sure none would fall back down to the floor, as he would have quite the annoying time picking it back up. He watched dannyl as best as he could while the man peeled and chopped the vegitables. Then the man went to working on sanding down the wood. Slyth had no idea what to say or talk about, as he wasn't exactly used to making idle conversation either. But, the quietness was rather.. boring. Afterall, he had been alone in the quiet house for a week with nothing to do, so he had to think of something to talk about.
So, while munching the grass, he realized at least one thing he could say. "Do you want any help? I can sand with you while you wait for the food to be doned."

"Isn't that fairly tasteless?" Dannyl asked curiously. Each to their own, of course, and he figured that since Slyth had at least some cow in him then he would need to eat grass as well.

He nodded when Slyth asked if he could help and handed him a slat with a piece of sanding paper. "Just take the rough edges of, and the corners, no more than that or the measurements will be thrown out," he instructed.

He continued working in silence for some time, it would take probably another hour until his dinner was ready so he settled in to sanding while the sun set. After a while, he asked in an attempt to make conversations and to learn some more about his new housemate, "Why did you decide you wanted to stay with me? Even though before you were eager to leave as soon as you could?"

"I don't care about the taste. Its what i've always eaten." Slyth spoke as he took the piece of wood and sanding paper handed to him. Slyth gave a nod to the instructions before he slowly started work on the sanding, being carefull not to get anything in his grass. He had remained completely silent while working untill Dannyl asked him why he decided to stay. Slyth didn't know exactly why, mostly because he did feel safer here than out there. So he gave a slight shrug, "Before.. I didn't think you were strong enough.. but you survived in the woods when two lycan's were out there. I feel safe.." He frowned lightly. He was rather sure the man was bitten though, and was likely going to turn. Though, he didn't know that Lycan's mostly forgot their human sides while transformed. So he wasn't as afraid of him as he was of the other.

When Slyth said that all he had ever eaten was mostly grass and sometimes apples, Dannyl frowned in thought. He wondered whether that was all he could eat or just all he had ever been given to eat. Afterall whoever had raised him had convinced him that he was a cow, so it seemed logical to assume that while he no doubt needed grass as well, he could probably eat other things. "You should try some of this as well, just a taste to see if you like it," he suggested.

"Ah. So you heard that, huh," he said when Slyth mentioned the fight. As always happened when he transformed he only vaguely remembered what had happened in his wolf form, like a dream with some often important parts missing. He remembered getting into a fight, but he didn't remember why or who it was with. He was just relieved that it hadn't been protecting Slyth so he hadn't been hurt. he wondered if Slyth had put two and two together, the fight combined with the obvious bite marks, the fresh one as well as the faded scar that had been revealed when he took his shirt off (he had put it back on now) and come to the conclusion that Dannyl was now a lycan himself.

"What do you think of lycans?" he asked. "You must have been frightened, alone here and unable to run knowing that there were two about who could likely smell your pressence." At least if he knew how he felt about it, or what he knew of them, he could decide what to tell or show him.

Slyth looked over to the stew that was brewing over the fire. He was never allowed to eat the food of humans, other than the occational apples that the humans no longer wanted. He wasn't even sure he wanted to try it, afterall he had always been told that the food humans made for themselves was like poison to normal animals. Surely though it couldn't be all that bad. Humans are animals as well and they eat it.
He lost his train of thought on that when Dannyl spoke once more. A frown appeared on his face at the question asked, "I've only met one lycan, and that's the one that killed everyone and everything I knew." He sighed and looked down to the wood in his hands. He remained quiet for a few seconds as he slowly began sanding once more. "I'm afraid of them. Anyone of them could be the one who killed my family...."

Well, Dannyl thought, at least he had only met one, maybe he would be able to turn his opinion around. He would have to take it slow though, but if he could convince him that not all were bad maybe, just maybe, he could reveal himself and not be afraid of the usual hatred.

"What do you think you would do if you came face to face with one?" he asked. "Would you try to kill them? Take revenge for what that one did to you even if it wasn't the same person?" He hoped so. He hoped that all Slyth would do was try to kill him, he could handle that and would take it since he was sure anything he could do wouldn't actually kill him and he was more than willing to take any cuts or bruises he may try in the attempt. It was him leaving or hating him for the long term that he was afraid of.

Slyth had a mild look of horror in his eyes while Dannyl spoke of him trying to kill one. "I could never kill anything. Even if I had the chance to kill the one who is chasing me I couldn't do it." Another sigh escaped him as he now put down the wood, though it was only a bit more than half done being sanded. He didn't feel like doing that anymore. "If I came face to face with one, I wouldn't have time to do anything before it would kill me." He said in a matter-of-fact tone.

"What if it didn't kill you?" he said, hoping it didn't sound like he was interrogating him or something. "What if you came face to face with one who wasn't the one who destroyed your family, and it had no interest in killing you? After all, even the strongest of carnivores only kill to eat, humans are the only animals who waste what they kill," he said. Really, he thought, if Slyth was to be afraid of anyone it should be humans. But then, he knew what it was to hate lycans, it was easier that way. And lycans were prone to mindless destruction as well, though normally when enraged.

Finishing the plank he was working on, he laid it aside to pick up another and conitinuing work. He didn't look up at Slyth, leaving him to his own emotions as he answered. Instead he focused on the work in front of him.

"I can tell you now that not all carnivores are like that. He didn't eat everyone. He simply killed them all while only eating one or two." Slyth sighed, he had to calm himself. He didn't want to get mad at Dannyl for simply asking questions. "Honestly though, if I came face to face with one.. I don't know what I would do. I've never come face to face with one so I can't know what I would do." Then, without another word, Slyth stood up, grabbed his crutch and headed outside. He was mad, he didn't know why he was. Dannyl was just being curious, like he himself is, but he couldn't help it. If he stayed in, he knew he would just get more angry. He didn't like being angry, it was a horrible emotion to contain. So, once outside, Slyth closed the door behind him and simply sat against the wall by the door. That way, if any animals came around he could easily make his way back inside.

Dannyl sighed when Slyth got up and went outside; he had pushed him too far. But at least he only sat outside from the sound of it, not leaving completely. It was rare for lycans to attack mindlessly, most did only take one or two people to staunch their near insatiable hunger, only mindlessly attacking when attacked or provoked. But what Slyth said did sound familiar... His sanding paused as he thought about it, casting his mind back and trying to remember. Yes, he had definitely heard about that when it happened, it was when he was still wrestling with his new life, often trying to kill himself to get away from what had happened. He knew who it was who had done that. But what could be done about it? Slyth said he wouldn't kill him, even after all that and, while in many ways he hated the person who had done it, he wasn't sure if he wanted him dead.

"I think I know the person who did that," he said, his voice quiet but loud enough to carry to Slyth. He put down the finished slat and pulled up another. "I know who he is and where he lives. I remember him telling me about it."

Slyth had sat there silently outside, it was nearing dark and he stared up at the barely visible stars. He always did like them, he even saw shapes in some. It was to early to see most right now, but he looked at the ones he could see. He soon closed his eyes, the night air and distant sounds of birds heading to sleep were calming.
That was short lived though, as tears suddenly sprang to his eyes at the words he heard come from inside. Those words were no reason to cry, the man had simply said that he knew the lycan who did this. Though, one would have to suppose that wasn't exactly simple. He sat there for another few minutes before getting up to his feet and going back to the door. "So you... really are one then...?" That wasn't what he had thought to say, but it was something that had just forced itself from his mouth. May as well say what else was coming to mind at this point. "Why else would you know him and why else would he tell you!?" The tears were falling more rapidly now, though he was desperately trying to keep them from doing so. "I- I thought you were trying to be my friend.. but..." Slyth turned away from the door and started to try and run as fast as he could while keeping his balance and not tripping with the crutch.

Dannyl flinched a little at the blatant accusation and he gave a single nod, though he didn't look up. "He was my brother and the one who turned me. Against my will," he explained, though likely it fell on deaf ears. "I do want to be your friend," he said softly as he left. Slyth was obviously upset with him now, as he had suspected would happen but he didn't really know what to do now. He was sad that he was so afraid of him even now that he would leave but it was Slyth's decision really.

He kept working, letting Slyth go. He would do a circuit of the area tonight after dinner, to make sure he was alright but if he was he wouldn't approach, not yet anyway. The wound would be too raw. He kept making the bed in the hopes that Slyth would come back, at least to learn more maybe about the one who hurt him so. But he also hoped that, once he had a chance to calm down, he would remember what he said, that he had been turned against his will, and that he had been nice and gentle and comforting to him. And if that didn't work... well he would probably end up going after him. And hope he found him before too much time had passed and he was too close to his next transformation.

Slyth continued to 'run' for awhile, uncaring of the fact he was running through a dark forest probably full of hungry animals. Eventually, he slowwed and let himself regain his breath. He didn't know what to do now, he couldn't go anywhere in the condition he was in and he didn't want to go back. Not now at least. "How could you not do something when he told you!?" Slyth yelled into the darkness before letting himself fall to to his ass on the ground. He let himself sit there and cry for awhile, let out his anger through his tears. It helped.. a bit. He calmed himself enough to get back up and walk towards what he thought may be a stream.
He stopped at the edge of the waters when he arrived and sat himself down carefully this time. He poked at the water absentmindedly with his crutch while he thought about all the things that have happened in only one day. His whole perception of himself was shattered and now he finds out his only friend is brother with the thing that ruined his life. He sighed deeply as a couple of his cow friends came out and grew to about a foot tall and nuzzled him.

Dannyl continued working on the slats until his dinner was ready before serving himself some in a bowl. He ate it and it was delicious, always was, but to Dannyl at the moment it seemed tasteless. He had hoped to be sharing it with Slyth, to watch his face as he tried the new foods and, hopefully, learnt he could eat more food apart from grass and apples. But he was no longer here. He had destroyed that. He knew he would run no matter how long he waited to reveal his true nature but it didn't stop it from hurting.

After he finished it, he decided he would get some for Slyth. He should at least be fed so that if he did decide to leave he did so on a full stomach. Scooping some into a bowl he turned the lamp down and closed his door, going out. He wandered around for a little while until he picked up the boy's trail before following it. His tread was quiet but he wasn't trying to be stealthy. After a while he found him by the river and paused. His back was to him so he saw no reason to ruin his calm. But if he didn't announce his pressense he would likely remain undetected. It was then that he noticed the tiny cows. He frowned. Slyth had acted like he had never seen cows before. Were these who he meant when he had said 'my little friends' before? He shook his head. He wouldn't ask now so likely these questions would never be answered. If he came back, he would ask, if not... then he would never know.

"I brought you some food," he said softly before placing the bowl down, a spoon in it. He turned then, to walk back to his house, to give Slyth his space. And he figured he probably hated him now and didn't want to be around him. Dannyl will give him that.
