Hazel woke up first (for once)in the morning. The cubs were exhausted, and she quietly got up for some food.

Shadow had stayed awake all night and was outside in the clearing just stareing out inot the sky.

"I still don't think your feeling yourself." she said, dragging over a rabbit. "I mean, all you do lately is that!" she bit into the rabbit. "you got to eat something."

Shadow looked at her "sorry, I am just thinking about what Waite said about me being the only good thing to come out of the stone." he siad and stood up "But I think your right, I am going to go and get something to eat." he said and then started to walk into the forest

"There is food here!" she said, pointing at the pile of perfectly good prey. She sighed. He could be so moody sometimes.

Shadow saw the prey but none that he wanted. He wanted to go and kill something that would be hard. Soon he saw a magnificent deer and smerked. He circled it from teh shadow and lunged at its neck when he got to its back. The deer thrashed and bucked but could not get shadow off of him. Soon it fell to the ground and shadow dragged it back to the clearing happly

"Well mister Over-achiever." she said, the cubs up and about.

Shadow smerked and stoped dragging the deer "yes I am and this will last us a long time" he said with a smile and took a bit out of it. It tasted wonderfull "come on little ones, come and eat" he said as he walked over to them

"Yum!" they squealed and dove past shadow and onto the deer. "You guys, you know you shouldn't do that to Alpha." Hazel scolded.

Shadow chuckled a little and looked at Hazel "it is okay, I was the one who told them to go eat so dotn worry about it."

"Fine." the cubs resumed eating and there was half a carcass left when they were done. "so much for 'last us a long time'." Hazel said, taking her share.

Shadow smiled and watched them eat. "yay but then again we do have three growing pups to feed."

"True." the cubs started wrestling, Umay and Celest against Tyson.

Shadow smiled and watched the cubs. "where do you think we should take them today?" he asked with a smile

"I don't know. You take them somewhere besides the stream! All they will want to do is swim!" She smiled and called Tyson over. "We're leaving!" she called back to Shadow.

Shadow smiled and nodded. Then looked at Umay and Celest and got a idea of where to go "who want to learn about the mountains?" he asked with a smile

"I know about mountains!" Umay piped up. "They are big rocks with trees on them, and the little rocks under our feets are their babies!"

Tyson and Hazel headed up the nearest mountain. "Where are we going? And why aren't Celest and Umay coming?" "I wanted to show you something you would like." They came to the top and looked up. The Northern lights were dancing. "Wow." Tyson said.

Shadow smiled "yes that is right but what can you find in rocks?" he asked with a smile

"ummmmm, more rocks?" Celest shook her head. "Pretty rocks?"

They sat watching the Northern Lights for awhile and then Hazel said, "Tyson, you have a lot to learn. Don't rush yourself." "But I feel so weak!" He said, sadly. "Don't worry. your still a cub, you will learn."

Shadow chuckled a little bit "yes you can find more rock and pretty rocks but some rocks hold the remains of other animals. They are called fossils and they show the remains of animals that no longer exist. Those rocks tell us that this world we live on is very old. some of the fossils looks like us and tell us that we are all conected in some way. We are conected to the bird, the badgers, the bears, and, you may not beleve this, but also the humans." he said with a smile

"Eww!" they both squealed. "That is disgusting!" Celest said. "I like being related to the bird and the bear, but not the hooman!" Umay yipped.

"Teach me something now." "I was getting to that. Every living thing in the entire universe has an animal guide. the animal guide tells them which way to go, and what path to choose." Tyson thought about that. "Well, what is my animal guide?" "That is something you find out for yourself." "What is yours?" Hazel laughed. "Mine is the bear. Always protecting her cubs." she tusseled Tysons's hair.

Shadow chuckled a little but it was understandable why they reacted that way. "yes I know it is odd but we are related to them. But you must understand that they are just like us and we must not hate them. They are animals just like us only they have forgotten what they are and where they come from." he siad with a smile

"But, how could they forget?" Umay said, disbelieving. "They are related to us, and we don't forget."

"Stop it!" Tyson scooted away. "I wanna learn to fight!!" "Well, all right. Later. Let's get back to camp." Tyson was upset he couldn't fight while Umay and Celest were probably taking down moose right now, but he followed.

Shadow smiled at them "they have forgotten because they have evolved so much. They have forgotten that everything is conected but not all have. Some still remember that we are all conected while others believe that they are more important then us." he said and remembered some of the humans he has met "but one day they shall remember and everything shall change."

"Yaay! Change!!!" The skipped around then they stopped and asked, "Can we learn to fight?"
