Buster had waited near Bear mountain for them and wouldn't move another inch till he was the others.

Clair stayed besides Tyson and licked him from time to time.

Tyson leaned into Clair.

Hazel blinked in surprise. "Now why would you want to know that? Shadow is your father." Umay flicked her ears. "No he isn't, you were telling Tyson that one time because Shadow felt weird when we called him that!" Hazel flattened her ears. "Maybe he isn't your blood father, but he helped raise you, and that is all that matters!"

Buster stayed hiden as he saw a bunch of humand with guns passed him. he hoped that they hadn't gotten to Umay and hazel and hoped that they wouldn't get ot the others. He quickly let out a howl of warning to everyone.

Shadow, clair and Christien stoped in there tracks when he heard the howl. Shadow looked up at Tyson "you go and get the others to safety." he said as he looked at Tyson.

"Shadow, you have to come with us." Celest said. Tyson made sure that Buster was with them before he nodded. "Hazel and Umay are probably at the base of the hill coming up, we'll just get moving. They can catch up!"

Umay flattened her ears. "Why won't you tell us? We deserve to know!" "He is nothing anymore! We shall not speak of him! I am trying to protect you!" "Yeah, you or yourself? Why don't you want to talk about him?!" Suddenly they paused. Humans were approaching. "If you promise to get out of here right now I swear the next thing that I say to you will be the truth." "But what about-" "Don't worry about me, go, Now!" Hazel pushed Umay out of the way and Umay started to run. Umay ran until she saw the hill. "You guys!" She climbed the hill and panted for breath. "We're here!" She turned, and didn't see Hazel. "Mom?"

Shadow stood in horror as he only saw Umay come. He then looked at Tyson "now get everyone out of here, I need to get your mother." he called as he shot down the hill hopeing that nothing had happen to her.

Clair pressed her nose to Tysons cheek "we better do as he says, he is your father he knows best." he said softly

"She'll be-" Celest tried, but Shadow had gone. Tyson sighed and shook his head. "Come on now, I think I just saw them move that wagon to the forest, we better get going."

Hazel had jumped into a tree and had been shot at by a firestick. She was alright, but it took the tip of her ear. "I liked that ear too!" she protested as she jumped from branch to branch. She saw Shadow streak down the hill. "Shadow, it's alright! I'm fine-" A Firestick shot into her leg. She yelped and ran-hobbled- to Shadow. "Is Umay safe?" She panted as she came to Shadow.

Shadow nodded "she is fine" he said and stayed besides her, helping her to say standing. "you shouldn't have stayed back." he said as he helped her continue to walk.

"What do you think I was going to do? Besides, she froze so I pushed her. She started running and I jumped into a tree!" Hazel tried to hobble quicker, she could smell the humans but she could see Bear Mountain and her cubs at the top.

Shadow could smell the humans getting closer so he quickly moved under her and hoisted her up onto his back and started to padd a little bit faster. "but there are power in numbers and you would have stood a greater chance of surviveing if you stayed with her." he said as he could now see the cubs.

Hazel got off of Shadow. "Relax, I'm here aren't I?" She howled up to the cubs, "Start running! The humans are coming!" The cubs heard her. "Come on, lets go lets go!" Tyson started to run over Bear Mountain, Celest with Christian next to her with Umay bringing up the back. "That's right! Keep running! Don't turn back!" They heard Hazel's voice in the distance.

Clair ran besides Tyson as Buster ran besides Umay.

Shadow stayed besides Hazel, not going to leave her side.

Hazel got to the top of the mountain, feeling a bullet take the tips of her tail. "I liked my tail too!" She yelped back at the humans as she hobbled next to Shadow. The cubs were far ahead of them now, and she felt her leg stinging with the effort of running. "Shadow, I don't think I can keep this up!" she panted.

Shadow looked at her "then let me carry you, I am sure that I can get you out of here." he siad as he looked at her "and dont you dare say to leave you because you know I wont'." he said as he licked her cheek.

"I don't want you to carry me Shadow, I just need to sit down for a second. The humans have stopped shooting." She lowered herself to her paws and panted for breath.

Shadow stood watch as she rested, his ears and nose alert to everything and anything that was coeming closer to them.

Hazel's breathing slowly calmed down, but her wound was still bleeding. She licked it a couple of times, then perked her ears. "Shadow, humans are coming." She whispered silently.

Shadow growled but stayed put, he wasn't going to leave her. "then let them come, I will fight for you till my last breath." he said as he licked her cheek.

"I need to tell Umay something, we just need to run." She slowly got into a postition where she could run if she had to.

Shadow nodded "okay" lets go" he said and started to run with Hazel at his side.

The sounds of bullets were here again. Hazel pushed herself faster. I promised Umay the next things out of my mouth would be the truth! She should know about her father! Soon they saw the cubs. "Keep running!" she heard Tyson call.

Shadow nodded and stayed besides Hazel. "we are almost there." he said as the cubs where only a few yards away from them.

Celest ran to her mother. "Oh gosh, Christian! Bring me some cobwebs!" She called over her shoulder. She leaned into her mother's fur. "Come on,we have to get somewhere safe!"

Christien nodded and ran over ot them with some cobwebs. He then looked back at the others. "there is a cave not to far form here hiden by some bushes, we need to get there." he said as he looked at Tyson.

Shadow stayed besides hazel and buried his nose into her fur.

Tyson nodded. "Celest, you stay with Hazel and Shadow, everyone else, follow Christian." he barked a short command. Hazel was panting hard with blood still oozing out of her leg. "Stay still." Celest said as she applied the cobweb.

Shadow nodded and couldn't help but smile, Tyson had become a wonderful leader.

Buster and CLair nodded then turned to Christien "lead the way." Clair said as she looked at him

Christien nodded "okay, this way everyone." he said and started to head forward.
