Clair started at the field "what is going on." she said, she could hardly be heard from how softy she had said it.

Tyson pressed against her. "I don't know." He whispered back. Hazel leaned over to Christian and said, "Christian, go wake Shadow." She looked up, some lights were joining together.

Christien nodded numbly and walked into the cave. Then after he came out he had shadow next to him. He looked half asleep but when he saw what was happening he woke up all the way. "what happend?" he asked as he got to Hazel. Christien went and sat besides Celest, hopeing that he didn't just lead his family to there destruction.

"Shh" Hazel growled, looking up. The light intesified, and she soon saw that it had become the shape of a wolf. It was a she-wolf, and it came down from the skies. She looked around the group of wolves, and turned to Hazel. "Who is the Alpha?" She asked in a voice that sounded like running water.

Shadow steped forward "I am" he said as he looked at her.

The starry form nodded. "You have come to a sacred place of wolves. Every wolf comes here at least once in their lifetime, but only one pack at a time may live here. The last pack has left, you shall take their place." The stars in her pelt glittered as she spoke.

Shadow bowed his head to her "yes and thank you" he said in a very respectfull voice. She was all powerfull here, if he spoke out of place she would have his head.

The wolf smiled. "Does you pack have a name or title?" She asked, turning to Hazel. "No ma'am. We just banded together, we have no name." she said truthfully. "Then you must have a name." The spirit declared, her voice stronger and sounding like a rainstorm.

Shadow thought for a second about there pack. It was a mixed pack filled with many wonderfull wolves and after a while he thought of a name. " we are the Stary night pack." He said as he looked at her. He picked htat name because each of there pack shined with there own light of talent.

She thought about it. "Yes, the Star Night Pack. Perfect." She nodded. "Protect this sacred place as if it were your cubs. Let any wolf in, do not challenge them. Do not let Humans in. Chase out all animals that pose as threats." The stars in her pelt began to break up. "You are never alone." She looked at Hazel as she said this. Soon all of the stars had dispersed and it turned into a regular starry sky.

Shadow nodded then looked at Hazel. He had no expected that at all.

Hazel flicked her ears. She looked around at the amazed faces. There was only one thing left to do. She lifted her head and howled.

Shadow smiled then joined in, then clair, then buster, and then last Christien.

Soon the cubs were howling too, and the moon shown brightly.

After a while Shadow stoped and just listend. He couldn't hold a howl for as long as he use to.

Hazel let the howl continue. "getting old, huh?" She said teasingly as she saw him stop.

Shadow chuckled "yeah, I am." he said as he looked at her

The others had stopped howling, and Umay was tired and had gone in. Celest followed and Tyson licked Clair's ear.

Clair smiled and licked Tyson back "want to go check out our new home." she asked happly.

Buster and Christien walked inside also.

"Alright." he said, and walked out of the clearing.

Hazel walked into the cave and lay down next to Celest.

Clari smiled and besides him happly

Shadow stayed outside and smiled at his family. He wondered what they would do when he was gone since he knew that his time was comeing to a end soon.

Hazel noticed that the cubs were asleep but Shadow hadn't come in yet. She came outside and looked at him. "What's wrong?" she asked, knowing that something was bothering him.

Shadow looked at her "just hopeing that the children and the pack are going to be okay once I am gone." he said then looked up into the sky

Hazek pressed up against him. "Now don't think like that. Enjoy life in the present, and you'll look down from the stars in the Land Of Eternal Hunting." she said, quoting her mother. "Besides, you aren't going to leave any time soon."

Shadow smiled and licked her cheek "not soon but my time is comeing." he said softly "but I will enjoy the time I have left."
