"Does it have a home?" Umay asked. "I don't think so." "Who will take care of it?" Hazel asked. "It will be winter soon and we will be running low on prey." Celeste sighed. "I'll do it."

"I will help her." clair said as she looked at the pup. He moved and then opend its eyes slowly and looked around. "where am I?" he asked softly and moved closer to Celest for warmth.

"You'll be ok..." Celeste said, her heart melting at the sight of the little pup. "Your with us now." She didn't tell them the main reason she would care for the pup, it was just that Christian was leaving, and she needed something to keep her mind clear.

The pup moved closer to her and then looked up at Celest. "and where would that be?" he asked softly. His body looked weak and as if he headn't eaten or drank anything in days.

Celeste smiled. "Well, I can't answer that question until you tell me where you come from."

"I come from a valley that was very big and many wolves use to live at. That was untill some humans came and I had to run for it." he said softly and looked down.

"Do you know where your family is?" Tyson asked, hoping they were nearby. The spirit that had visited them said that they should allow any wolf to pass through.

The pup shook his head, "no, I got separated from them a while ago when we where traveling up in the mountains." he said softly

"Ok." Tyson said. "Can he stay here Hazel? He's lost and alone." Celeste said, looking up at her mother for the first time. "I guess so. Winter is coming and he would not survive."

The pup moved closer to Celest and managed to look at the one they called Hazel, "thank you." he said softly and started to drift off into sleep

Celeste licked it's head a few times. "I'll take him inside." she said, picking him up by his scruff and walking inside the cave. Umay walked in behind her,. "Ok, why did you really adopt that pup?" "Well..." Celeste sighed. "Christian told me that he was going to leave soon."

Clair walked in soon and heard her. "is that the real reason that you did this? just to keep your mind off of him?" she asked as she walked over and licked the pup.

"A little. but he is just so cute!" Celeste said, licking the small puppy's head.

Clair nodded, "he is and I am surprised that he managed to survive on his own for so long. But what are we going to call him?" she asked and the pup grumbled when celest licked his head.

"I don't know." Umay said. "Me neither. You know any names Clair?"

Clair shook her head, "no, not really" she said and hte puppy opend his eyes but then quickly closed them, falling back asleep

Celeste sighed. "Well, we'll think about it. Maybe he already has a name." she yawned and curled around the pup, falling asleep.

Clair smiled and layed down next to them. "maybe." he said and fell asleep next to them

Hazel sat outside with Raven. "Is something bothering you?" Raven asked her. "With that cub here, that means there is another mouth to feed, and less of a chance surviving. I don't know about you, but I doubt it will make it through winter."

Buster sighed and walked over to Hazel. "maybe it will maybe it won't. At least we gave it a loving place to live for a little while." he said as he looked at her.

Hazel nodded. "Yes, that would be good. Let's hope the little thing lives." Raen smiled, seeing some of the old Hazel back. Umay popped her head out of the cave. "Do you guys know any names?" she called. "We haven't thought of one and we want one just in case he doesn't have a name."

"how aobut if we call him Shay." Buster said saying the first name that came to his mind.

Umay thought about it. "I'll ask Celeste." she said, ducking back into the cave. Hazel sighed. "Now it has a name and if it dies we'll feel even worse." she muttered to herself.

Buster sighed and looked at Hazel, "you just have to remember that we are giving it a loving family for part of its life. Think aobut it, would you like to die knowing no one will love you ever again or would you rather die knowing that you where loved for a little while." he said as he looked at her.

Hazel narrowed her eyes. "Your not that high in the ranks to be mouthing off." she growled in a low voice.
