Yeap, posting can earn you tonnes of gold here since you can talk about so many things around here. And chatting up people in their various threads can also turn into long conversations which would see your gold go up rapidly! There are the games which I only play when I really need to make gold or when I have free time ^^" But posting is great fun! Helps you make friends easier too :)
