Lovers Never Tell:
They may do have more variety, but I feel that Menewsha has way better clothing options.
But that's just me.
When I first joined, I didn't like the restrictions that Mene had, but now I appreciate them because Gaia to me is a mess and Menewsha keeps everything in order so that it doesn't turn out as a mess like Gaia currently is.
On Menewsha, you actually get to have intelligent conversations with people, not conversations that just consist of smilies and spamming.
And the double posting really isn't a big deal to me anymore.
It took a couple days to get used to, but just edit your posts if there isn't a post from someone else yet and it'll be fine.
Honestly, if you're going to complain about it, I'd say just get a feel for it and you'll appreciate that Menewsha is like the way they are for a reason sooner or later, or you could stay on Gaia and be happy over there and leave us to be happy over here with Mene.
Also, they might have the six month rule because many forums can stay active for at least 6 months. Sure, you may have the occasional thread kill here or there, but if it's popular enough it will last longer.
That's my guess though haha.

Hiya, I'm 'Poof the Pink Ninja' on Gaia. x3
Personally, I only really post there a ton during special events, or if I'm in a particular hyper mood - then I'll just go to the Chatterbox or the GCD.
I'd have to say that I do prefer Gaia's avatar system, though. It's a lot more developed, and I even have an outfit I saved on there called 'Human Cupcake'. It's so cute, it always makes me smile when I equip it. ^w^

Eh, I just think the Gaia avatars are ugly in general.
Something with the graphics.
Just doesn't appeal to me anymore.

It doesn't even seem that much like a chibi style...they're just kinda weird looking sometimes.
(Sorry I'm quoting a post that was from several posts ago.)
I just saw the announcement for the new collectibles - the Silver Laurels are so pretty! But I checked the marketplace and they're 100k. o_o I'm like 80k short... xD

Nah, that's okay.
Well how about an attempt at a chibi style avi gone horribly wrong haha.
Oh yeah, today's the 15th.
Gaia is expensive though.
I have over 500k and I still wasn't even close to getting my dream avis over there because the prices always increase.
:/
I'll check them out later though.

I joined in 2007, and it was pretty good then! The good days weren't just in the very beginning. XD But recently it seems like it's been going sort of...downhill. :(

Yo, I`m ' Zombie Pocket Mouse ' on Gaia~.
Gaia's an okay place, then again, I hang around in some of the more . . err. Mean/rude/arse-ish forums - forums which have been that way for quite a while. Namely the GD and CB - if not those, binging around in art shops or Barton OOC ( looking for good role plays, obviously ). The forums I happen to hang about in haven't changed all that much, apart from total newbs coming in and adding even more spam and ' ugh '-ish topics that the CB totally doesn't need. Yay, spam~.
I think Gaia as a whole has totally gone downhill, as previously stated. o _ O; Things hit a new low when they had those surveys or whatnot people would do for GaiaCash, and there were a lot of . . well. Bad stuff that happened because of them. Computers infected with viruses, kids signing up via phones for things and not being able to cancel subs and ending up owing money every month, etc.
I know a lot of people were pissed when they temporarily removed tobacco-based items from the site ( and I was a part of the majority of people pissed off about it, though I did manage to sell my long drag for quite a bit, and buy a new one after they did return - no matter how horrible that was, it was a benefit ), but it's good they listened to the users/took a moment to go ' DANG! We screwed up! '.
As for Gaia avatars . . I like them. Sure, a lot of the items for avatars are really expensive now, specially with the release of the EIs and such items, but earning money on Gaia really isn't as hard as it used to be, and if I spent an entire day playing Booty Grab, posting in forums/bumping via the shop I`m in, etc - I can make 100k quite easily ( even though it is all pretty much a waste of time ).
I don't really spend much time on avatars anymore, though. I`m saving my gold up for art, as there's a lot of amazing artists on Gaia, and instead of getting avatar items, I'd rather have bits of artwork for OC's or something instead, because it's more appealing to me at this point. Mene's site-art is sort of what pulled me into this site, it's just visually appealing. I don't actually have that much interest in Mene's avatars or the items for them ( I prefer Subeta's avatar system far more than I like any other site's, but that's an entirely different thing ).
. . maybe that's enough ranting for me at this point. O .o

I was on Gaia but left due to some issues I had (with the people and the site.)
Instead of saying the norm here I think I’m going to say something I liked about Gaia…I have to say for all its faults I really enjoyed the animal items and the aquarium…and even though Gaia may be considered “The Slums” nowadays I think it still throws out a few good ideas once in a while…

Well, they did have really nice event items this event, which was surprising, but really nice. They've been lacking as of late, so it was a very pleasant surprise for sure.

They have caroling? I thought it was just this 'feed the machine' thingy? o.O;
I did it but you know...I was bored and I thought they were getting rid of all the massive shit that was left in my inventory. D:

Caroling started later in the event.
I guess the cheer engine was a good way to get rid of cheap items that were too abundant.

@ lightkanna- ya, I only did up to 50 gift donations, all of them were starter items XD I didn't bother with the 250 or the 5k one, I didn't like either item enough to want to put that much effort or time in. Haha. Caroling I did as I sat of facebook and what not
@ Kaema- I agree, the minty green was a nice change and it was a really appealing color choice for the designs they had.
