I just did. (I'm on now, thanks to Jennifer).
I'm totally nekkid. Also, I didn't know that you can only play each game once to get gold. So I took my snake score (which turned out to be 12 gold), and now can't play again for 24 hours. How strange!

I don't have an avatar on there. I refuse to save one, don't want one of those ugly things with my name on it :talk2hand:

That's basically what I was doing... just poking around at different sites to see what they look like.
I like playing dress up. My favorite part of RPG games is when you choose your character and dress them up.

There are other ugly avies out there, but they're generally on the sites set up by kids who have no clue what they're doing; not the better established sites.

I'm currently doing the event of Roli. I like it, but I find a bit problem in it. The eggs are hard to get, and there's only little time as the event stuff needs so many eggs to gain. If we could get the eggs easier or more at a time or the items wouldn't require so many eggs to get, I would be much happier with the event, as then the amount of time we got would've been sufficient. Also what would've made me happier would've been another week of time to get the eggs.

That's one of the reasons I wanted to wait. Doing the event here, and on Gaia was enough. I didn't need to be on yet another site trying to find carrots or eggs or anything like that.

That's all I have to say about Solia too.
Actually no I have more, I hate the posture of their avatars, it makes my back ache just looking at them. Also you just about go blind trying to pick your facial features.

I do like the facial features here. I think they look more expressive.

I thought Solia would do well at first, I really did. I think the avatars are great to be honest. But then as time progressed, staff became asshats, they ended up bending some rules - and now, it's like a mini Gaia. :D
I'd choose Roliana over Solia anytime; that's how much I hate that site.

Well, Solia is another one that didn't send me the activation notice. I even sent them an email, but didn't hear anything back, so I basically gave up.

I think it's your e-mail provider. :XD When you sent me it; I noticed it's not a regularly used one. When I made an account on Gaia using my e-mail address I received from the phone company, I didn't get an activation e-mail either. Because it's basically just a local address.

I check our email activations every day and manually activate anyone who's email didn't go through. There's no reason why the other small sites can't do that too. Other than laziness..

I have to agree. And like stated earlier, I don't understand why there isn't a way to contact other sites to activate accounts. They're like "Post here if you want your account activated." ...wait, what? .___. They are so smart, s-m-r-t. But that was already discussed earlier here, as you know, haha.

Jelly, when I tried to get on here, it also didn't activate me. I was trying around Christmas time, so I suspect it fell through the cracks. I just contacted ya'll about a week later, and it was done immediately. I got a very nice email, apologizing.
It was a very good first impression of the site.

Well... back then we had around 1800 acounts awaiting email activation xD But over the last month I went through them all and activated them all, and am now in the process of banning the majority of them actually as they were nearly all fake accounts set up during the great Tektek invasion of '07  But that's beside the point!

I remember I joined Roliana due to a similar TekTek add, and I really wanted to participate seriously in the community.
But all they heard was "TekTek Ad" and "Gaia" and "New Member" and they assumed I was an illiterate n00b.
I didn't initially like Menewsha at first (gold earning was hard for me 'cause I tend to lurk more instead of posting) but after I came back on a new account I liked it more. Mainly because the staff actually interact with the members, unlike certain other avatar sites.
And the clothes are pretty too. :squee:

It's interesting... it keeps coming down to two major things: The people, and the staff. You can put up with most everything else...

Yeah, everything else is down to personal taste, but it's the attitude of the staff and other users that will truly decide whether someone stays on a site or not I think.
