I joined Kinsaki a few days ago.

As I was reading through this thread I started to think, "Oh, god. I don't want to be apart of a community that sounds so atrocious!" But after talking with people and getting to know everyone, it's not so bad.

I see that it's mostly from new ownership, however. But I'm glad for that.

The site still isn't the prettiest. The forums are drab and rather boring, and I'm slightly irked by the posting format (the green borders for regular members is hideous). But I believe that Kinsaki will grow, evolve and become something spectacular! :D

There has not been a layout change there for .... maybe ever. The green background is soothing on the eyes, even if the post borders are meh.

It's nice to see the site get new membership. <3 The new ownership has done wonders already.

People complained every time I said I didn't like the layout and I wanted a change. One girl doesn't want the layout to change ever, but the site looks very 1990s or in the beginning stages without a layout change.

The layout over on Kin is pretty outdated. As for the person that doesn't want it to change, they can't stop changing things just for one person. The majority wants a forum revamp. You simply can't please everyone.

I quit Kin mainly because a few of the staff members there were pretty mean to one of my friends, which I didn't think was on. At all.

Curious is it just me or in Kinsaki down right now? It was down when I checked yesterday as well

It has been down for about two days for me, too.

I get an 80 Apache server not found error.

EDIT : Yes they are, but there is no update since the march 20th downtime note.

Yeah. There has been no announcements in weeks and weeks.

I used to go on Kinsaki a long time ago. I could never get used to it for some reason, unlike Gaia and Menewsha. Sudoku was the only thing going for it. It seemed to be so bland compared to other sites back then. Speaking of which, I probably should take a peek at it and see how it's changed.

I think it's a shame that Kin has been left so much. It had such great potential. It just needed the right owner with the time and money to sink into it. Sadly they never really got that :(

My account got deleted for no reason, hence why i won't go back there again...

I must say, I'm surprised people are still talking about Kinsaki here... I loved Kinsaki, but its just been pawned off to so many different people that just don't care enough about the site for it to amount to anything. And obviously, it's no different for the current owner. I understand people have problems in life, and real life comes first, but it doesn't take MONTHS to finally post an announcement saying such. That was my biggest issue with the latest inactivity.
I really do wish someone would come in and swoop the site up and bring it back up to its (very short) former glory in the first couple weeks of its opening, but that would take a lot of money and dedication- something no owner is willing or is able to give the site.
I put in my fair share of time trying to lift the site up, but without the correct leadership and resources, it's useless. So for now, I'll stand back and watch with high hopes.

@Telstel_Helper: Depending on when this occurred, it probably wasn't anyone's fault. The site has had so many data crashes, the first one happening just a few weeks after the site had opened. Basically a bunch of people's accounts got deleted 'for no reason' and they quit, just as you did.

I don't have much mgolds on my accoun there, I think its kind of boring... But I'm still trying to get used to it.

Last time I tried going to kinsaki my browser told me it was unsafe so I didn't bother.
