I belong here. [/contented sigh] I was introduced to Repo! almost a year ago now. I first saw it as a shadowcast, and didn't really like it much, because it was my first time attending a shadowcast. But, then I saw it outside of the cast and really liked it. Now, I own the movie, I watch it about three times a day, and it's signed by Terrance Zdunich himself (Graverobber, for those of you that don't know him). I also joined the shadowcast that I went to see. Oh, and meeting Terrance was amazing. xD

Oooooo! Oo oo oo! I gotta testify, I love this movie so friggin much! I've seen this so many times at home and have converted a ton of my friends to its glory!
You know it's supposed to be a three part opera, right?
Also, live in theatre with a shadow cast it's an amazing experience. I'd love to be in a REPO! themed role play.
@Ayan - ....you met him? MET HIM?! -has a bad case on the envy-

I love Repo and I own it on DVD. I've watched it many times now. I also have the deluxe soundtrack. My favourite character is Graverobber because he's funny and I like the way he sings. XP I have an outfit that I wear that was inspired by Shiloh. It's a white dress with black lace over it, boots, and those long fishnet arm warmers she has. I also have long black hair like her so it all pulls together nicely.

Loved Repo, love the music. Gorey musicals are awesome. If I had to describe it I would say it's like Rocky Horror Picture Show mixed with Sweeny Todd. Maybe plus a harder style music.

My darling(note the sarcasm) older sister introduced me to REPO. I almost puked the first time atching it, but now I adore it!!! The only part I can't seem to stomach is the part where Nathan is ripping out the guy's spine. *Cringes*

My favorite musical!!
I love the part where:
1. that female just sticks her nails into her eyes -I forgot her name...you know, Shilo's godmother-
2. the repo takes out the spinal cord off of a random dude's body
3. the part where Paris Hilton's face falls off...well I didnt know it was her till the face literally fell off!! it was funny XD

I learned about Repo! a long time ago and have been in love with it since the teaser previews were available. I went out and bought the DVD the moment it was released and have been converting ALL of my friends into fans. XD
At the end of this month a local theater that usually plays off the wall or indi films is going to be running Midnight showings of Repo! I really cannot wait to see it! I have no idea if there will be a shadow cast there or not, but either way it is going to be amazing!
I voted for both Graverobber and Nathan as my favorite characters. I've always loved Anthony Stewart Head and am always astounded by his musical magic. I saw him play/sing as Frank N Furter for the 25th Anniversary of Rocky Horror Picture Show and was blown away! Both Terrance and Tony are two men that I would jump in a HEARTBEAT!
I have the soundtrack with me on my iPhone wherever I go, and have made a part of Zydrate Anatomy as my ringer. XD

I can usually put up with horror movies/gore, but this thing absolutely disgusted me. I don't know what it is, but lately I can't take this "the future is going to be horrible and disgusting and petrifying" crap anymore. I'm sick of seeing these kind of movies. I prefer not to see such black themes that have no reason to exist beyond scaring the tar out of people.
The only thing I liked about this movie was Mag, otherwise I wish I could go back and erase the memory of this thing.

Funny, I love dystopian themes - I kinda get the opposite thing out of them though; not so much a "The future is GOING to be this way," but a "Don't LET the future be this way."
But yes, I can understand why some people would be a bit...bothered by those themes, be a bit tired of seeing them. They're not hard to find anymore, not at all. Whether or not you're into the whole dystopia idea really does depend on how you interpret the doomsday "prophecy," so...
But yeah, fair warning, you'd be one of the people who'd want to stay the HELL away from anything I write. xD; Speaking from the point of view of someone who writes dystopian settings, though, 19 times out of 20, they're not just there to scare people; there's usually a pretty good underlying message - that's when they get REALLY scary, and most importantly, make people think about what they can do. Repo! was actually a pretty damn good parallel for the present-day medical system, if you think about it...now that's scary. As it was literally presented? The thing that scared me the most was the heart monitor noise toward the beginning (don't laugh, I'm terrified of hospitals D;).

Eh. I actually enjoy some dystopia themed movies/writings. It was just this -specific- one. *Shivers* I also normally see things the way you do, aka: "don't let this happen" versus "this will happen." I just get miffed when I think that such a warning has no reason to exist in the first place. Not to say that Repo's message is entirely fake.

What makes you say that there is no reason for this warning to exist? I'm just curious because there is definitely reason to believe that science could progress to a point where the technology COULD exist.. at which point we will be facing a lot of the ethical issue presented in this movie.

I just noticed that I said "isn't" instead of "is" when I referred to my statement about Repo's message in my last post. Sorry for the confusion.
I do think that Repo has a valid message, I just couldn't stand how it was presented. AKA, the singing and dark Gothic theme. I think that the whole goth style is overly used in dark movies and it gives it a bad name. To me the Gothic style is all about delicate beauty and forgotten times, not grisly organ repossessions. Though one could argue that that's what made Repo "Repo." And, indeed, it is. I'm just getting tired of it.

i am a bit of a musical lover so when i heard of REPO i was curious. a friend of mine owned it and would gush about the film. her and i were not on the best of speaking terms so i had no chance in asking if i may watch it too. so i was on my own in finding a way to watch REPO.
months later after expressing how much i wanted to see it a college boy who i hardly saw gave me a present for christmas...of course it was the movie XD i thanked him so much when i opened it.
i instantly loved it and watched it over and over, even bought the soundtrack.

I have this on dvd and have seen it at least 14 times. It's my favorite musical after Phantom of the Opera. My friends and I randomly plan nights where a big group of us will get together and take over one of the campus lounges to watch and sing along together. We also randomly dressed up like some of the characters out of boredom one night and sang in an empty boardroom. I was GraveRobber.

I feel like such a spaz for not checking this movie out before now, because now that I'm watching it (like, right now!) I'm realizing it's SO me. I live for this kind of stuff. Makes me want to make costumes and run around singing to random people. Absolutely adore it.

I have been to the monthly showing in costume so much I was unofficially added to the cast. One time I even showed up as Shilo from the last ten mintes of the movie (cocktail dress & boots, and covered in blood) and got a picture with the composer and MC in the movie Darren Smith, who was a guest that night. I'm now a GENtern/henchwoman/scalpel slut/Zydrate addict, depending on where they need me. My favorite character is probably Pavi or Graverobber, and Didn't Know I'd Love You So Much & Zydrate Anatomy are my favorite songs. I always time my bathroom breaks for Seventeen though...I'm not too fond of a lot of Shilo's solos. (I always get back before Nathan slaps the shit out of her, though :P)

^ That sounds so awesome! Like, insanely awesome. ^_^
I can only hope that it'll ever be on stage here. Somehow, it seems like it's too obscure for the theatres here to stage. The country is so small that they only ever stage musicals that are really famous. At least that's how I experience it. It's been like 30 years since Rocky Horror was on (according to my grandma, who was there). Which is annoying, because I so want to see that as well, but I suppose it's seen as too much of a niche type of thing, so I guess that's how they see Repo as well. Meh...

well repo was my first rock opera so I really liked it but my boyfriend didn't let me watch it again because of the gore which there wasn't that much and seeing it on stage would be really neat i'd love to dress up as blind mag I'd even would get the contacts to match her eyes.

My favorite was Blind Mag but I did like the graverobber to. Out of all the characters though The Largos were my least favorite especially Amber Sweet you know she is addicted to the knife.
