I did start reading the series, but after a few books in.. well.. I lost interest. I'm not sure why though. I know it is a decent series. @@ I'm werid like that sadly.

I've read all five so far. I thought it was great. Harry Potter meets vampires. I didn't think it was too shallow at the beginning or anything because Zoey didn't want to be different and hated that she was. I feel for it to be shallow she'd have to be going along with it. The boy drama however, does get a little irritating, and I felt that book five was a HUGE filler, I mean, 400 pages for three days? Come on now! >.>
Also, there are spelling mistakes that irritate me because they have editors and whatnot that are supposed to find those, and they didn't. Shows how the publishing companies are working now. (I've seen them in two other series too).
I heard that they signed the rights to some movie company, so theres a movie in the making hopefully. :D I'm curious to she who they pick for the 'Perfect man' at the end of four and in five. I hope it's Hugh Jackman or Johnny Depp. xD

Oh my gawd. :D I feel happy to know I'm not the only one who related this to Harry Potter!

I love this series, but I couldn't finish the last book that's out currently. I think all the boy drama is getting to me. She has too many guys. D: Sure, it's supposed to appeal to girls, but really. She has like...four guys, if I'm not mistaken. Five, if you count one who didn't really love her.

i have read them...lol i find it funny that it was written by a mother and daughter team...some of the scenes in those books would have been quite awkward to write... especially with you mum  (if you have read them you will know what i mean) they are okay i guess...but nothing overly great... chosen would have to be the best though i think...i dont really know why though :S

The series is really good and it keeps your attention all the way through! I absolutely love it! I heard they, whoever they are, are thinking of making a movie out of it. It would be pretty cool if they did.

Anyways The House of Night isn't like most Vampire books. It doesn't take the most obvious approach and the way it starts out totally catches your attention. I don't know. Not many people I know have read it, but I've read all five so far and I can't wait for the sixth one to come out!

The heroin, Zoey Redbird, doesn't ask for what happens to her and hates it at first. It's something that almost everyone can relate to and it isn't confusing or hard to follow but it defiantly keeps you going until the end.

And wow I probably sound like a total obsessed fan or something like that, but I really don't have anyone to talk to about the series...so yea... but it is a really good/amazing book and series and I suggest that you read it. Even if you don't like to read because it will catch your attention and it's really good. All I'm saying is give it a chance, ya know?

yea, but if anyone what's to talk about the series just let me know. I really like it and I would suggest it to anyone who is looking for a good read.

I've just started it, but I really like it so far. A curse upon my library for not having more copies of The Betrayed! :gonk:

I love Zoey, but I have to say that there are two things about her that seriously bother me. For one, she's so completely predujiced against stereotypes! She's all, "Ewww, emos and goths!" and even though she turns out to be right, she's dead set against the Daughters of Night after hearing about a paragraph's description of them. The second thing? The likes mucking out horse stalls? Are you kidding? I love horses; I own horses; and you couldn't pay me to take that job!

Eh, I didn't mean to get so adamant against her there... It doesn't detract from my liking the book, but it sort of stood out to me. I do really love the books; it's just my habit to talk about the bad things more than the good...

@silentsparrow: Wow, that's a good point; I never thought of it that way!

I've read them. They're *okay,* but not one of my favorite series. They're kind of too teenager-ish for me to really enjoy. (I am a teenager, actually; I just prefer to read books where the characters are older or more mature.)

When I read the first book, I didn't think I'd really enjoy the series. Then I read the second one, which I liked a lot better. The third one got kind of boring, in my opinion, because nothing much happened until the end. Then the fourth one was the best I've read so far, and I'm planning on reading the fifth one soon. The plot has actually gotten pretty interesting, once I was able to get past the way the characters talk (which was something that annoyed me in the beginning).

I've read all the books that are out in the series. I originally just picked up the book at random at my school library. My class was leaving and we were supposed to have gotten a book so I just grabbed the first one I saw.. I'm glad I did. It turned out to be one of my favorite book series I've yet to read. I cannot wait 'till the next book comes out in October!

I love the House of Night series.

I finished reading the Twilight series, which was somewhat corny in my opinion. Good, nonetheless, though. After I finished that series I was on a "vampire" buzz and wanted to read more books about them.

Of course, my friends were reading this series and came to school talking about it, so I was like "What's it about?" and they described it to me. So I went out and bought my own copy. I was hooked from chapter one, though some parts were a bit iffy.

I love they style it's written it. It's like she's really telling the story. I mean, first person is first person, but it's got the vernacular of a real teenager.

I can't wait for Tempted to come out. Kalona is on the cover and he. is. gorgeous. :d

i like but hate that the main character so easily changes her mind about the guy that she likes when she always has a good guy in front of her. Really but other then that she somewhat cool i was like wow when i found out Nyx was a B.... I really liked her and such. but its ok but i haven't read hunted yet because i hate that its only in hardback cover

I love the House of Night series, I wouldn't say it's one of the best series around - but seeming I don't read a lot, it's one of my favorites. I absolutely love the characters though some things that happened in the plot made me rather sad (don't want to add spoilers.. Well I want to, but I'll be kind). I'm some what addicted to books about vampires.

Anyhow, I'm up to the third in the series, though I would be finished with the series except I'm reading several books at one time. It's a great series anyway, an enjoyable read. :)

I am a big fan of the HoN. It's an original concept and is a wonderful read. I agree that Zoey tends to repeat herself a little too much, especially in the beginning, but she's starting to get over the Mary Sue-ness. I've only been able to get my hands on the first four because I have to order everything from the library but I'm enjoying them nonetheless. I highly suggest them to anyone who is looking for a good plot, a nice read, and a series that doesn't seem to lose any momentum whatsoever. =]

It was entertaining, I can give it that.

One thing that pissed me off was that the main character always had to have it all about her.

It was just a sob story all the time and at some points I absolutely hated Zoey and the authors for making her that way.

If they made her a little more average, I think I would have liked it better.

I enjoy this book series, although at times it gets a little repetitive (ex: they way the authors must repeat that Damien is gay)*.

I have the date for Tempted marked on my calender and I also have it pre-ordered on Amazon!

*Please note that I have no qualms with different sexualities, and that I have a pet peeve for repetitiveness.

I love them. I mean sometimes they can be a little slow, but still good. I love that the feel of the book is totally different than anything I've ever read. I mean the way they talk like they're really 15-16. And plus the mother daughter collaboration seems to work pretty well for them.

I liked Erik but now I'm more of a Stark fan.

I enjoy it pretty well. On the fifth right now. Only thing that drives me insane! is the fact she's always repeating herself. Even if it's a chapter later she refreshes you on what happens. My memory isn't that bad haha
