I thought it is the copenhagen protocol or was it conference that was involve? all muddled.

I am not saying Earth hour is anti planting or such, just thinking it is not effective enough. Voting to agree on saving earth, oh well, it is not up to us that says we agree or not. We NEED to do it to survive, so we actually cannot really choose.
Unless, the upper ones are arguing which conference to lead the whole saving earth action thingy. It is not like voting for parliament or sorts. DX

Actually, I know about Earth hour from newspaper. RYlynnene, right, the people without electricity didn't take part in destroying the earth like we did. XD but if the aim of the Earth Hour is to get awareness, it would just be fair for them to take part.

I should read up on what you two are talking about. =O I've been kinda secluded to local news recently because my Journalism subject requires it. DX

*feels stupid for not knowing about this*
>.>;;

And hmm, true. :x But if they're in newspapers, then they can spread to those places without electricity? =O It's only a theory, but even if it's through technology or through print media, I have learned that information has a way of spreading itself. =) It's what we strive for in our course, at least. 8DD;; Heck, even word of mouth could spread the word to those places though. :>

Anyhows, Imma head to bed in a bit. D: It's almost 3am. DX

Aha, so there is a thread!

I was talking to Chi about this in another thread, and she thought it would be cool to go out and take a picture of how many actually turn their lights off. I hope a few Menewshans do this, and then post their pictures here. Would be quite cool to see. :)

I haven't read the entire discussion in this thread so far, so I'm not going to say anything regarding that yet. :P

Yeah... I need to go to bed too, RYlynnene. because you see, I turn off my lights an hour during needed hours of 8.30.
But since I am a night cat, I used extra light power for my midnight stroll. After calculating, it doesn't reall help in saving earth.

Which left the Earth hour is to create awareness.

I scared off people with looooooooooong off topicness.
tata.

Earth Hour should be really easy for me. I don't usually have any lights on around 8:30. I'm very used to stumbling around in the dark. I'll have to remember to tell the rest of my family later.

My family and I will be participating in earth hour later tonight. Although I thought it was turn off everything including (i.e. computers and television) with the exception of certain stuff, like a heater maybe. I will probably also turn off my computer for that hour and maybe take a nap or bug my sister.

Ah... My little sister was trying to convince my mom about this yesterday. I hadn't heard about it until then lol. It sounds interesting... though I don't know if my mom'll agree. XD

I never have my lights on except the ones for my reptiles anyway. I sit in darkness because I can't afford much electricity. XD

I live in a small apartment. There's a light in the kitchen, a light in the bathroom, and the only other two lights are small lamps. I don't have to directly pay the bill for electricity - it's included in my rent - but I'm usually sitting in the dark, anyway. xD

Unless I need to get up and pee or want to see what I'm doing when I'm cooking, the lights are off until my room mate gets home. And she just loves the light, so suddenly everything gets turned on then. (I'm a little darkling child, I relish sitting in my dark room~)

So I guess I'm already doing quite a bit for the Earth, electricity-wise.

My dad was being a complete dope earlier about it when I told him. And then my sister Elizabeth was like, "What's Earth Hour?" and dad turns to her and says, "It's when we have to power off everything, so they can reset it." XD! He was just screwing around of course, lol. But we did get Elizabeth to believe that she can't use her cellular phone during that hour either. FINALLY, ONE HOUR of her not texting and talking on the phone.

my earth hour is in 7 minutes. I think I want to, but I don't know about my family. I'll probably just turn off the lights in my room since my parents are working on cooking and work D:

[FONT="papyrus']Have way through my Earth Hour, I needed to use the bathroom, but I had to wait because I don't like to go in the dark. O.O;;;

We turned off all the lights in our house, except I forgot about the clock light. Oops.

Lol, Celes. I like darkness too, except I always have to have one light on somewhere in the place or I may get creeped out at some point.

So last nite I was out in a restaurant for Earth Hour. The restaurant and none of the businesses I could see (my eyesight could be better but still ...) did nothing. :|

I completely lost track of time because I was at my sister's apartment, but I think I had most of the lights turned off around that time. I had to keep one light on so my nieces could see the blocks they were playing with. I wish I had remembered, though.

I didn't participate. I find it a little pointless.
But I probably would have this year if I'd known that it actually counted for something. xD But I didn't find out that it was supposedly a vote until after it had already ended.
