But, I dono, I just wanted to post this here anywho.

My hamster died sometime Thursday night, and I found her Friday morning before leaving for class.

I had her for 1 1/2 years, and she was my first real -my pet-, if that makes sense.

So I cleaned up, I gave her a small funeral and buried her, but now every time I walk through my room I find myself gravitating towards where her cage was, and when I notice that I am, I start crying my eyes out again. .

I stole my boyfriend Saturday, and was gonna have him come with me to pick out a new friend, but the store was out of them. i guess cause of Easter. . .

I am going out sometime during the week to get another little fuzzy friend, but I really miss my little fuzzybutt~

Sorry you lost your little friend froggy, losing a pet is heartbreaking, but I'm sure she had a good life because you loved her.

Thankies,

Yea, that's how I look at it. She was always fed and pet.

She died fat and happy in her sleep, at least she didn't get out and get lost an die in my closet . . .

She escaped about 4 times on the time I had her, and I never figured out how she did, darn Ninja Hammy.

Lol, yes hamsters can be sneaky, I've had a few ninja hamsters myself. (we wound up using the twist ties on the bread to bind their cages shut.)

How sad. I'm sorry for your loss. Was it a dwarf or a normal?

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure she'll be fine in the afterlife after you've taken care of her. :)

That's so sad. Sorry for your loss. I had the same problem when my little guys died. One died then a few days later the other one did. I still went to go feed them after they were buried and everything. I never could get another one but now I have a bunch of mice instead since every hamster I saw reminded me of them for a while.

Sorry for your loss. :( I know how you feel, I've had guinea pigs since I was 6 and it's always hard when they die, especially since unlike cats, rodents don't last too long. My guinea pig Kellye was very sick over the summer and one day when my boyfriend and I were at my place, we were in my room and i walked out to the living room to get my phone, i looked in her cage and she was laying there stiff. i went back into my room and told him and he grabbed me and let me cry on him. We gave her a small funeral at my grandmother's house since we live in an apartment now. I think a couple days later, my dad and I drove to the pet store and we got another girl.

It's always good to know that we all take care of our rodents very well and they're fat and happy during life and showered with lots of treats and loves. ^^

I have lost many pets, including a hamster. It's a loss like any other, and, it hurts. It sounds like you gave her a nice life though, and that's all you can really do.

However if I were I'd wait before getting another little friend. You'll probably end up comparing it to your old beloved one, how it doesn't do this like her, well she used to do that, ect. It's best to wait.

I really do know how you feel, and am sorry for your loss. *pats* It's really hard to lose pets, especially if you loved them and were close. Getting another pet would help the pain, but I agree with 404 Error, it's best to wait a little. I got a couple new birds the day after one died, but I felt a little sad at first.

My cockatiel, Skipper, died last Halloween from illness and I've had him ever since I was a little kid. I wasn't terribly close because he was kind of a mean bird and was never tamed, but boy did I love his whistling. It was a shock to find something I had known almost my whole life was gone, laying in the corner of his cage, looking as if he had struggled with his last breath. *holy crap, i'm getting misty eyed just thinking about it now...* We gave him a proper burial in the backyard, but I find myself looking at the spot where he had perished sometimes. It took me a few days worth of crying to acknowledge he was in a better place and his suffering from sickness was done. It was hard, but I was able to cope. The next day, we bought a couple parakeets to help us through the sadness. I still have my other cockatiel, Tasha, whom I've had a little longer than Skipper, and I'm glad. She's helped me too, and since her cagemate's death (she's all alone in her cage now), we've both created a strong bond because I've been taking her out to play with her more. I feel like she's part of my soul or another sister in bird form lol.

@ mystic - yea, I keep walking over to her cage, still, but that's okay. I am thinking about maybe getting a gerbil or a completely different type of hammy, I just miss taking care of someone~

@ serena - sorry for your loss~ little ones are always lovable. My mom let my cry on the phone to her for like 20 minutes, and then my boyfriend for another half hour. Talking on the phone was the only was I was gonna get dressed and to class, since I had to be there and all I wanted to do was go hide u-u. Fat rodents are generally very happy rodents XD

@ Error - I agree about waiting, its been a few days and I feel much better now. Maybe in a week or so, =3

@ Vampire - Birdies!! hehe. sorry for the loss, but birds are beautiful. I kinda wish I had one, but alas, I cannot afford one.
Maybe in the future, I want to own many animals.

Yeah losing a pet always sucks.... When I lost my lovebird Honey I was broken for a day or two and couldn't stop crying. I haven't gotten anoth pet yet and it's been years. Now though it's only because I have people and living situations that won't allow me to.
