This thread should totally have a poll to see just what age group takes up the most percentage on Menewsha. ^^;

I think we have a nice range. Our users may not all be old chronologically, but they are mentally mature.

There've been a few age polls about before. The highest percentage is the 13-18 year old bracket, same as on any site :yes:

Kalium, Thulhu is right, all avatar sites have a higher percentage of female users, girls talk more after all xD and yeah, playing dress-up is a more female/gay male oriented past time, though it's nice that it isn't restricted solely to those people.

I belong to the older category, I think mene has a lot of mature people on it That I can happily say don't really care about your age. But it is amazing how quick people are to judge you according to how old you are.

Ten years old? Then they shouldn't be on Gaia... I am pretty sure they are suppossed to be 13+ to be on Gaia.

Though I supposse there are always those that will not care about the rules and do as they please. As for the crowd here on Menewsha versus that on Gaia. I think the reasons for Mene seeming more mature or having an older crowd is simple.

Gaia is LARGE, well known and has no restrictions on how many accounts you can have and what you can get away with there is far more outstanding than what you can get away with here. Mene has more structure and actually hass the ability to enforce those rules far better than Gaia. As Gaia has vastly outgrown it's Staff.

Though I will add to the statistics pointing to Mene having an older crowd. I'm 26 years old. Though i've been on Gaia since 2003... and only recently [since December] found Menewsha. I don't post much or even visit Gaia so much these days, as the place really has seemingly gone to the children.

It's no longer a fun place for me to have intelligent conversation. So I've found a new home here with the Menewshan crowd. Who seem more interested in teh community well being, than the gold frenzied crew over at Gaia.

It's true that 10-year-olds shouldn't be on Gaia, but like you said, since Gaia is so vast a lot of rule-breaking slips through the cracks unpunished. I think they put the age restriction in place mostly to avoid legal issues, but I doubt they are that strict on enforcing it.

I know I've encountered my fair share of 10-year-olds on Gaia, or at least people claiming to be that age. Then again most people lie about their age when first asked, and will often "correct" it when they find out my age to sound more mature or something. I usually don't trust the first or second answer, but I play along anyways. XD

I'm in my late 20's, and it's nice to know I'm not the oldest one here. I like a lot of avatar sites, mostly for the avatars. I'm not usually very active in the forums because I always feel too old to be discussing some of the topics, but you might see me pipe up here on Mene more often.

I've added a poll to this thread for anyone who's interested in sharing their age for some (wildly inaccurate) statistics!

i don't really know im about 21 but a lot of people are around 18.

I can't stand chat speak...when I first started going onto English websites, I was impressed by those different types of text, so I started learning them and even using them, like 'ppl' and that such...but I never really got into the whole 'how r u? wat u doin' kind of speech...it was tiresome to read and soon later I reverted back to typing all the words out. Except maybe 'lol' and 'lmao' and an occasional 'brb'. :sweat:

Naw, it's cool. XD I'm not surprised that late teens seem to be dominating, but I know we have quite a few younger teens and mid-twenties so it might get balanced out.
