The basic idea behind making gold is this:

1- Post. You get more gold the more characters are in your posts, but don't spam, double post, or that sort of thing. Font, size and emoticons doesn't add more gold. Editing adds or removes Gold depending on what you do to your post.

2- Play games. You can get up to 50 Gold per play, and up to 500 each day. Nice, isn't it? I personnaly prefer Tetris, but to each their own. :sweat:

Seems like you already got an item for yourself in just a day :) It seems like the advice given to you must have helped ^^ Well, I'll just add on to the advice if that's okay.

- Go to the exchange threads because its a place where you will be able to get your hands on some really good bargains for stuff you might want. Sellers are usually very nice there and sell at prices which are discounted from the shops

- Also, you can go to the charities and chat with some people there because its one of the more active part of the forums. Plus, there's a charity which helps newbies out as long as you can prove that you are worth helping out. So go check that out. The charity owner is a very friendly person.

- Apart from that, gold making is always easier when you have a place to hangout at. You can start making your own hangouts like quests or a thread in Menewshan nations and chat with people who would stop by. The more you chat, the faster gold would flood in!
