So....this is the poetry forum....and I do have a small number of poem's that I would like to be read and complimented or critiqued. They do vary between free verse and actually having a rhyme scheme, depends on my mood the day I wrote it. Please, I want to improve, so feel free to mark all over them with the figurative red ink.
A Moment
"Why do you chase him, or her, or those strings that used to be a friendship?" you ask.
It’s only so much drama
Because,
I say.
I am searching for that which is pure and content,
but only finding a mire to be lost in.
The air around me is filled with
emotions, desires, unrealized or unspoken
questions.
What is a question?
It is a lack of knowledge,
or feeling,
or simply the curiosity of a fifth grader on a summers day
where friends are a part of the warm sun
and never-ending grass.
But either way, you say
this creature will not work.
I sit.
And I smile.
The clouds are resolutions to my problems.
Fluffy,
Peaceful,
And just out of reach.
Lessons of Hafiz
Loneliness is
As the wise Hafiz wrote
A spice of the soul.
I now appreciate
A laugh
A smile
A tear of joy.
What is more precious than a friend?
What is more delicate than a moment of pure bliss?
To drift down the sidewalk
Hand in hand
And let emotions expand and climax.
Celestial
My love, the Helena of my delights,
To you I give the richest of star-speckled skies
The most bejeweled of treasures
The dew that settles on mornings break
And still it your beauty eclipses.
Oh, lay upon me one heavenly glance,
One innocent touch,
And let my salvation fill me,
For how can any gods’ splendor
Match your mere existence?
My soul’s ecstasy
reaches new heights at your voice.
If our worlds are to connect,
Two lone spheres in infinity,
How I suspect that mine shall be consumed
In the brightest of supernova.
