~ PLOT! ~
People often dream of other worlds and having powers, but what if such things actually existed?
In a small town by the name of Genosha, a young man will find out. He lives in a simple town of a few hundred people where you can’t walk but a few feet before running into someone you know. Still it’s a nice place full of life and surrounded by a lush forest. Still as normal as the town may seem it has its days. Unexplainable things occur from time to time. Like fires starting in the middle of the street then vanishing, rain that feels like acid against the skin, even people vanishing from time to time. Even so people over look such things chalking them up to scientific reasons or just bad luck and move on with there lives.
He on the other hand believes it has to be magic. Even when people tell him its nonsense he can’t help but hope for such a thing. It was that hope that helped open his eyes to the world beyond theirs. One day while taking a walk it started to rain. Nothing unusual had happened in some time so it was only natural something would happen today. As he walked on back home he soon heard a strange sound coming from the woods. A rustling of the brush was soon followed by a strange innocent giggle, and …a cat tail?
He couldn’t help but go into the woods in hopes of finding whoever was out there. Well more like whatever. Walking through the cold damn forest as he followed the strange sound he couldn’t help but get this feeling in the pit of his stomach. Coming to a clearing he found it raining all around him except for the area around a single tree. It was at least three feet wide and incredibly tall. Looking up it was almost impossible to see where it ended.
“Curiously curious are you? Careful now wouldn’t want to fall. Might get hurt that’s the truth!” Giggled Mia as she peaked out from behind the tree. Her soft crimson ears twitching in excitement and she watched him.
“….A cat? But that can’t…” He looked at her in fascination as he slowly stepped closer.
Mai blinked innocently a few times before she realized he wasn’t like most humans. Normally all they saw was a strange young girl running through the woods.
“O you have the sight. That’s good, vary good you can help. Only those with the sight can see.” She smiled happily as she move forward him only to push him into it. Literally he felling to the tree and into a bright light. But the light would soon fade.
Mai followed him of course. Landing softly beside him as she sat there waiting for him to come to. There world was bright and whimsical, but beyond the hills it was gloomy and somber. Unlike the warm inviting light that he’d fallen from. Mai sat there cleaning the rain from her ears as she watched over the strange boy.
“You will help, just you wake and see.” Mai said to herself with a smile. Little does he know that his town and Hestia are two sides of the same coin. One can not exist without the other. So while his world reminds ignorant; her world is fighting for survival. Against people who want nothing more than to destroy the humans in order to save the Earth. But at what cost?
Characters
Pocky:
Quote:
Aiden Noir
Age: 20 nearly 21
Bio: Aiden is of the curious sort, having grown up in a family that is rather ignorant to the rest of the world. Well, not even just them. In his whole town, he alone questioned the odd bearings of the occurrences in the middle of town. This led him to being driven out by his father and grief-stricken mother. His mother was somewhat of a believer like he was, she would tell him little stories and rumors, but at one point she all together stopped questioning everything, as if afraid.
By sixteen, he was asked to leave the house for the sake of his mother. His aunt took him in, but immediately sent him out by the time he was eighteen. No one wanted to listen to the logic that he had, no one wanted to be bothered by a cryptic thought that was totally impossible anyway. By this time he was avoided by most in the town, especially since he started bringing news that he saw things sometimes.
Favoring the woods more than any place in the town, he hunts for food quite often.
Appearance: He never really takes care of his beard, so most times he has some slight stubble. His eyes are a very light brown, and at first glance would appear to be yellow. They match well with his short chocolate brown hair that, occasionally, grows to be a tail end. He is a semi-skilled hunter, so he has an athletic build, but it doesn't extend for much else other than hard abs and fairly toned arm and legs.

Himiko:
Character: Mai
Age: Looks about 20, but much older.
Element: Fire and earth.
Bio: Mai is a simple and carefree fire cat. At least she was until her world was threatened. Normally helpful and caring she can become short tempered and hostel against people she sees as a threat. Growling up her world was a beautiful vibrant picture of life. With strange animals, nymphs, and powerful humans known as watchers. When in her older years half the Watchers saw the humans as a danger to the Earth and looked to change the world. While the other half wanted to simply let them be and work it out on their own.
Mai is the familiar of the head watcher Ceres who is currently help captive. It is now Mai’s job to find help before its to late. Only problem is with each part of her world taken over by darkness she becomes more and more childlike and forgetful. Thus the reason for her strange way of speaking and silly games in the human world.
Appearance: http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...l/nekogirl.jpg
Character: Ceres
Age: looks around her 20s, but is at least 70 years old.
Element: Light and wind.
Bio: She’s been the head watcher since she was a child. Being gifted with the sight that most can only dream of having. This gift when trained properly can allow a person to see the pass of others and if strong enough the future of a person. The head of the fallen watchers also happens to be her former lover. Witch is why she was captured and held so easily. They are keeping her in the deepest pit of the ocean clear on the other side of their world. A magical cage keeps the water out and constant fresh air circulating from the surface to her as she wonders what is happening up above. Her cage has also blinded her sight and so all she can see is what her eyes can see. Which isn’t much. Just dark water blanketed by the ever darkening sky, and the water nymphs guarding her prison. Humans would know them as mermaids, but they are nothing like the myth. They are self-centered creatures who only love the creatures who worship them.
Ceres is stuck waiting for someone to break this spell so she could fix what her partner has done. All the while feeling responsible for all of this.

Mai sat there watching the strange boy she'd just abducted. He seemed normal enough for his world, but here he was the strange one. Looking out into the distance she could see the apparent damage that had befallen her world. The decaying earth and musty smell that traveled through the air with each passing breeze. The dark abyss of a sky that seemed to shroud more of there world each day didn't seem to be letting up.
Lucky for Mai she found someone to help. This strange human who could see her for what she truly was. Mai looked down at the unconscious boy wondering if he was ever going to wake.
"Come now...You must wake." She said softly as she nudged him. Her tail was whipping the ground in front of him acting as a fan. Still he didn't show any sign of waking, and it worried Mai that they would be stuck in the forest for the night.
"Come now" She snapped quickly as she shook him again.

What just happened to him...? Aiden felt as if his body were aching as he stirred from the shakes. When his eyes finally opened, he couldn't tell what he was looking at. After a moment, when the slow numb feeling started to throb into a feeling of awareness he finally took everything in. He scurried to his feet away from the cat, who was the only familiar thing in this area. The horrid smell of the dying world around hit him full blast as it was carried upon the wind that played through his hair and gently worn clothes.
As his senses began to work normally, his eyes widened with a sort of horror. Where in the world was he? The sky, the earth, the smell...nothing was the same, "W-what is going on?" If he recalled correctly, the cat had spoken. Speaking to this cat was his only option, although normally he would call himself stupid for even thinking about such a thing.
(Is it raining right now? xD)

(lol Its fine XD)
Mai wasn't sure why he was behaving like this. There was nothing to be afraid of in this part of the world, but he was new to all of this so that alone would frighten a person. Still Mai tried to be as friendly as possible to help him relax. After all she couldn't have her only means of help running away.
"Its alright. You are alright that you are." Mai smiled brightly as she crawled his way. Her tail moved slowly careful not to make any sudden movements. Once close enough to the boy she reached out her hand.
"Come now we need to go home..." She told him softly as her ears twitched from the breeze that kicked up again. Her hair swirled around her face and ticked her nose, but she didn't want to move. Not until she was sure he would follow her.

The way the cat suddenly smiled so brightly but Aiden into more suspicion. He began a list in his mind, this wasn't normal. Then again, didn't he always strive for the appearance of something that wasn't normal? He strode with caution, "Whose house?" How could she say 'we' when he didn't even know where they were headed for?
She seemed to be waiting for something, and Aiden couldn't be sure just what it was. He waited for an answer as she froze there. The longer he stood and watched her, the more he noticed that she was probably more reliant on him than he had first credited her for. But she could be wanting him for a stew. Once again renewing his cautiousness, he stood his ground, his eyes narrowed in suspicion.

The strange look in his eyes worried Mai as she backed away slightly. She hadn't really gotten to know him so she wasn't sure what he was like or capable of. For all she knew he could have a short temper or try and attack her for bringing him here.
Her ears lowered as her tail curled up beside her; she was like a frighten kitten. Even her face showed Mai was worried. Her eyes seemed to mist when she looked up at him so she kept them fixed on the ground while a soft whimper escaped her.
"We have to go home now...please." she mumbled hoping he would stop looking at her like that.
"Its not safe here that its not. We should go home..." Mai backed away a little more as she spoke to him. Maybe he'd follow or maybe he would just yell she wasn't entirely sure.
((Sorry I've been running around today. ))

At the sudden change of expression Aiden nearly let his guard fall. Not safe...looks like he'd just have to trust her for now. After all, he had no other choice, and she seemed like she didn't have one either. He just hoped he wasn't rushing into anything dangerous, as he didn't have any of his hunting equipment.
A thin line became his mouth as the distrusting expression disappeared and he did his best to fill the eyes that would have shown uncertainty with those without expression. "...Even if this isn't my home...I'll go with you," he said after a long bout of hesitation. Why would she pretend to be scared and back away if he wasn't something she desperately needed. Discontent. He felt it course through his body. Pity. Pity overpowered the discontent and all logical answers flew out the window, "Let's get going, which way...uhh...do you have a name?"
Edit: ((That's alright, I've been at school anyhow.))

Mai was glad to see he so calm now. It really helped her to relax and get a move on. Standing up quickly she smiled warmly as she went closer to him.
"Mai, yep that it is. I am Mai and you are you. So we go now." She said with a childish giggle as she grabbed the rim of his shirt and tugged lightly. Mai really didn't like the dark, and the sun was already setting. The whole sky was a mix of orange and blue as dusk came around. Still it was warm and calming to just be outside, but that was only if you new around here.
"Please don't be mad with Mai. I have good reason that I do." Mai told him as she continued to tug him along. Her home wasn't far off. About a ten minute walk and there were there. It was a small little cottage home. Inside it was all of a few rooms.
"We'll get sleep and leave tomorrow that we will. Ceres is waiting." She said softly as she finally let him go and ran off into a small room with a medium sized bed. There she pulled another quilt out from under it for him and sat at the door.
"You can stay here that you can." She smiled brightly.

"You still haven't told me anything..." Aiden told her as he ran the information that he had through his head, ...Ceres? He let out a grave sigh, "Like, where am I? Where is this...place? What's going on?" he piled on more questions that his own head was bursting with. The odd way that the cat...or rather, Mai was speaking with was somewhat different to his ears, it took him a while to register her words, but it was cute. Very fitting, he decided as he scruffed up his hair.
"Mai, right? I haven't introduced myself, sorry for the rudeness earlier...just that I'm a little cautious," In all his ramblings, he failed to notice for a while that he still hadn't given the cat his name, "Anyway, I am Aiden Noir." He spread out the ruffle in his shirt in which Mai had tugged earlier, absently looking around.

"We're in Hestia that we are. Hestia is here." Mai pointed to the ground as she giggled thinking it was all a joke. He really was being a little to tense for her taste, but he was a human in her world. Normally the only ones who were comfortable here were the ones born here.
"Calm is what you should be. This is a happy place...well mostly. Still you will be safe that you will. Just rest for we have to leave in the morning." Mai told him as she moved off to the kitchen finding a bowl of whole fish in an ice box. Sitting on the floor she started to munch at the fish. Scales clung to her face as she looked up at him.
"Some?" She offered part of the fish.

"Uh," he gave the fish a bit of a look that said, 'what in the world' before declining, "N-no thanks, you can have it." Not being particularly fond of raw fish made his stomach churn. As he looked away a thought brushed his mind, how could he be calm now when he wasn't very much informed at the moment.
Moving to sit on the sleeping area that was designated to him, he plopped himself down and controlled his nausea, "Maybe I should...rephrase my questions? ...Hestia...right? Where exactly is Hestia? How can I get home from here?"

"Home? ...O back down the whole from where we came." Mai told him as she cleaned her face and sent to his side. She acted almost just like a house cat, only she wasn't hopping up into his lap.
"Yep you fall to get here, you fall to leave." Mai giggled as her tail patted against his leg while she sat there. There was so much to explain, but she just can't get it out. No matter how hard she tried it was just lost once she tried to talk.
"Hestia is how you're world use to be. Many humans scared and so they slip us up. So your world is there and ours here, but we're also the same." Mai nodded feeling as though that explained everything. Even though her words were cryptic and foreign to him; Mai didn't know that. She was trying the best she could in her state.

((I'll edit this post later, once I can.
I apologize for the inability to post anything as of late. I'll write the longer version of everything. There has been some stuff going on in my life right now. School, family(marriage), moving, community service, love life stuff, etc. and it seems like I'll be absent up until the end of school and maybe a few days after. That's probably around 14 days or more. D: )
