I used to smoke, but I quit.
I wasn't addicted though (I never am, it was also my 5th time quitting, I've been smoking on and off since 12, I'm 17 now.)

I would never go though more than three a day.
More than that and I got so light headed I couldn't stand (unless I'd been doing the 3-a-day routine for a while), but I usually didn't go for more because I'd start coughing. :sweat:

I hate coughing. It's uncomfortable.

Though, I never quit because of that. I quit because the smell was all over me all the time and I didn't want my family to know I smoked (I didn't see them much anyway, so it's not like it was that big of a deal, but still...).

I too have been smoking since i was 12. Since then i have been pretty steady with smoking a pack or two a day.

I quit for about three weeks a month ago but I couldn't handle certain situations I was put in so I started up again.

Now I kind of wish i quit and stayed that way. The smell is so overwhelming and I'm back to a pack or two a day.

I'm planning on making another attempt at quitting over the summer, when I'll be taking fewer classes and will hopefully have a lower stress level. xD But I'm also looking for summer work, and the market is tight, so if the only job I can get is as a waitress I'll probably have a hard time avoiding smoke breaks.

I generally disagree with smoking and had really avoided a lot of people who did so at one time in my life but being older now in university, it really is hard to avoid people who smoke ^^'' And a lot of people who knew me were really afraid to tell me about their smoking habits thinking I would avoid them but in the end, I became good friends with them and realized that smoking doesn't really make a person, its just something they do. I'm cool with it as long as they don't smoke in front of me or smell like they just did because I do get allergic to the smell >.<'' Though most of the people whom I know are actually social smokers... or at least that's what they call themselves...

Personally, I would never date a smoker because I kind of find it hard to be able to live with such a person and I do think that heavy smokers should really cut down and try nicotine gum or something ^^'' There are other ways to dealing with stress rather than smoking but this is just a personal opinion

When I'm drinking, a pack for as long as I'm drunk or more.

Weekdays half a pack a day, weekends are about a pack a day.

It just depends on how much I have to do.

I'm not a smoker and I'm glad it's illegal in my province that smoking is not allowed indoors in public places. The air is easier to breath and restaurant meals are so much more enjoyable. Besides, the outdoor fresh air is good for you...even though it's kinda mingled with cigarette smoke, eh heh.

Actually, cigarettes add extra stress to your life. When you're smoking to relieve stress, it's actually the cravings that you're trying to appease. Or so I've heard.

There's a lot to smoking involved including the actual motion of putting the cig to your lips that make it addictive (not to mention all the added chemicals) it's no wonder why people smoke. It's like checking your emails and forum posts in the morning, a few times during the day, and maybe at night because of that urge to be on the computer, even though you know there might not be anything for you to see.

I live in new york, Marlbs are about 8.00 a pack. No that is not a typo. I couldn't afford to smoke even if I wanted to.

I am noticing a lot of pack a dayers are only coming in every other day now. The tax is really quite harsh here. I don't know how you guys are surviving it... I don't smoke, have never smoked, will never smoke, and don't see why people do smoke, but damn, I am feeling your pain at the price. It is going tooo far.

I quit smoking 5 years ago. When I did smoke I was normally about 1/2 a pack to a pack a day. At the worse i was up to a pack and a 1/2 to two packs a day (a lot of personal issues going on at that time).

I don't smoke but my husband does.We want him to quit, but he's having a hard time.
He smokes about ten a day but we do our best to limit him to four.

Its illegal here too unfortunately it is not enforced much because a lot of restaurant owners do not dare tell their customers to put the cigarette out >.<'' they would rather have a paying customer. I actually kind of wished they imposed a fine on people who smoked in public =.='' I now there are certain countries where smoking in public is generally illegal... That is good but sometimes a bit, much?

I smoke around 1/3 to 1/2 of a pack per day, depending on my level of stress and where I am, or how many cigarettes I have. I don't really have any problems with the costs anymore, as I've switched from Camel Wides to Mavericks, and those are only five dollars where I am :). But I'm taking a liking to Marlboro 27's, and I think I'm gonna smoke 'em for awhile. :)

I smoke around half a pack a day. 9 - 13 cigs usually.
I buy 5 packs a week, and sometimes they last me just over, sometimes... not so much.
It does depend on how much free time I've got. The busier I am, the less I smoke.
I've cut down a fair bit due to the price. Just under £28 for 5 packs >.<
I did give up for a year and a half, but I missed it and went back to it.
When I lived in Indonesia and cigarettes were dirt cheap I smoked 3 packs a day. I don't think I'd be able to smoke 3 packs a day now, even if I could afford to, as I just haven't got that much free time.

I think I do enough damage to my body, so smoking isn't exactly an option for me. But I'll be damned if cigarettes and drags don't look damn sexy.

On average I smoke 6-10 cigs a day... it really depends. I'm spending a lot of time at home now that it's summer, and I don't smoke indoors (I do have a balcony that I smoke on though, so really it's still convenient to smoke, but something about being at home makes me not feel like smoking that much). I also don't have that whole school smoking routine of one while I'm walking [running] to the bus stop, one in between buses, one when I get off the bus, one on break, after class, etc... though I do smoke a lot more when I drink, and I'm going to be drinking a lot this summer. Haha. The most I ever smoked was a pack a day for a couple months... that was excessive. I cut down when school started back in February.

New York's cigarette prices are ridiculous! California is catching up :( Earlier this year a pack of Marlboros cost me about $3.30 including tax; now they're almost $5.50. I buy the 2-for-1 special packs for around $7...

Don't smoke, never will, kinda started to really hate it when my dad would soak the apartment in his cigarettes, none of my friends even wanted to come over anymore because of that. Everyone smokes around me does though [ Here you can smoke in public places&even in the metro&well actually everywhere xD ] because cigarettes are super cheap, easy to get by anyone [ 10 year olds smoke here....and younger = ___=''' ] and also, it's for some reason considered "cool".

I think I smoke more or less 15 cigarettes a day.
But when I go out with friends that smoke; and in pubs, it could well be more then a package.

I used to smoke but forced myself to quit.
I am a under-stress smoker. I used to pnly smoke at work and never at home. I used to waitress in this terrible restaurant and had people hollering at me all the time so the stress levels were high. When I was working there I went through about half a pack a day. I haven't smoked in months. I started a new job and its pretty stress free so I don't even have the urge anymore.
Plus it was affecting my bonghit abilities so I had to stop. xD

I used to smoke one cigarette a day; two if I was very stressed.

i rarely have any so i usually smoke when i can.
i babysit and the chick i babysit for loves me so
she lets me smoke and she gives me ciggarettes before she leaves.

i smoke 30-45 cigarettes a day. i'm addicted for about nine years and i've tried to quit maaany times, but i guess it's not the time yet. i know it's 'wrong' and very expensive, but hey, i've got only one life, i have to do something and have something to spend my money on:) and a bath without a cig... noooo!
