We got plain tungsten carbide rings -
That's a picture of a set there.
They're very dark shiny material and very dense. They're suppose to be near impossible to scratch. I'm hoping to get something a little nicer to wear but these are nice when you got to get your hands dirty! :)

Ah, not bad. And hey, they match. My husband and I tried to match ours, but he bought me mine before we got his, so they're not quite a matched set.

You know that's the one thing I've never gotten from a guy yet. My first husband went ring shopping with me to pick out my engagement band. I went like a year or two later and picked out a nice wedding ring.
This time around there wasn't any engagement ring, but we'll have the wedding rings on the day.
I found a beautiful opal ring though that is all different colors and it was only $200. I have made sure to make it known I have fallen in love with that ring and he knows my ring size, so I'm going to hope he surprises me one day when we aren't so tight on money.
Edit: Oh yes I finally got the shirt I wanted from the May updates! I'm hoping to save up enough now to get the non-tattered version of it! I'm so proud of myself!

Oh, I hope he does. We didn't do the engagement ring thing, mainly because the first wedding was kind of rushed (we wanted to get my paperwork in so I could stay in the country before the costs tripled.) My wedding ring was a Christmas gift, though I kind of knew it was coming. Jeff has taste though, he didn't go for a solitaire (I don't particularly like solitaire diamond rings) and he remembered I prefer silver to gold.
If I ever buy more diamond jewelry, though, I want to see about getting Canadian diamonds, for several reasons, a large one being that, well, I'm Canadian :P

Yah I'm not a real big diamond fan either. I have my first engagement ring still, which I can't part with for some unknown reason...perhaps I'll get it resized to a pinky ring or something. It's just a white gold diamond ring with 3 small diamonds in that 'past present future' kinda layout. And I have a diamond solitare necklace from my grandmother. That's it for expensive jewelry though. My wedding ring I'm getting now is 50 bucks. I'm not really big on expensive jewelry as I'd feel bad enough loosing anything I had now let alone something worth a house payment. O_O
Edit:
Here's the hello kitty lot I won today -
I was going to give up on trying for it but at the last minute I put in a bid and one. I was estatic. I don't have any the items she comes with. I have a hello kitty doll already, but I'll probably keep this one too and maybe dress her up or perhaps give her to my step daughter if she wants her.

I don't mind diamonds, but I don't like the look of solitaires, generally. This one has a bunch of smaller diamonds on each side of the main stone, which is in a setting that makes it look larger than it is.

That sounds pretty! I don't like rings that are really delicate. I prefer something that will take a couple knocks. I'm a clumsy person and if there's a way to break something I seem to find it.

Ruby, this isn't the greatest forum to post posts like this. Why don't you try making a thread in the Fresh Meat forum and read the guides there?
There should be a cheap shirt/dress thing in Hot Gossip shop, for 30 gold.

I don't usually wear rings, so I don't really know anything. Although I don't like spending lots of money so I'd be pretty upset if my fiance spent a lot on it... I don't have to think of that for a couple years though.
They look very solid! I think they'll be sturdy.

In the end it's really about personal taste. Myself, I want my mother's ring with the star sapphire in it, I've always liked that one.

Hey people,
Izumi-- those rings look nice adn definitely sturdy looking. And they're shiny ^_^ (please ignore my obsession of shiny things >_>)
I don't wear rings either, I'll sometimes put on my class ring though. I can't imagine myself ever getting married so I've never thought about rings. I know I don't like the engagement rings that have one big diamond sticking out from it (how does it even stay on there?) I'd like one that looks a little more balanced.

Well if I had the money, I'd probably buy a really expensive ring. I mean if it were pocket change to me. I wouldn't spend my life's savings on it...I would need to be well off.
They are very heavy and sturdy. I don't think I'll be able to dent them. They seem pretty hard. I was wearing mine on my other hand for the day, but when Aaron got home he made me put them both up as he said it was 'bad juju' to be wearing them. I'm excited for when we can get them out again! :D
The next couple of weeks are going to take forever to pass. :XD

Yah I'm just hoping the whole day goes smoothly, and I'm hoping we both have enough money to pay for lunch. We've suggested our parents meet up for lunch with us with the kids. We've said everyone is paying for themselves as we're going to have little money to work from and his mother is the same, but we'll have us and the two kids. I'm hoping that Aaron gets a much better paycheck soon since he's starting work back up...so we can get caught back up once and for all...perhaps I'll have to let the bills slip for a payperiod to make sure I have enough to cover the day...I'm playing things by ear.
It kind of makes me jealous of those people who can spend thousands of dollars on a wedding. I guess if it meant enough to both of us we could pull out a loan but it seems a bit wasteful when we could use that same money as a deposit for a place to live.

Yeah, I know what you mean. We were in the middle of the 4-digit range for ours. I'm all about simple and elegant, and it came out great :)
Oh yeah, and we had travel fees involved.
Anyways, I think I'm out for the night. I didn't sleep well last night it seems, so I'm really tired right now :(
Take care all, and hope you have a great wedding, Izumi! *hugs*

Awww Izumi, those rings are lovely! I didn't want tradition rings either. Mine has sapphires in it and my diamond is a square shaped radiant cut, so it catches more light than some other cuts:) I kinda spent more money on the rings, because we wear them every day. The other thing I wanted to spend money on was the wedding contract. The Jewish wedding contracts (called a Katubah) is really ornate, and I wanted a pretty one because it is framed and on my wall. So it's something I see and enjoy every day. I guess I wanted to put the money in the things I would get joy out of every day rather than disposable items that would would only last for "THE" day:)
