as he listened to her he studied her face making sure she was serious. When he saw her arm however he sucked it air. It looked like it hurt! When had she done that he silently wondered. He let his worry fade to the back of his mind as he tried to pay attention to her.

he had kind of figured that that whole cross thing was just a movie thing but she had asked for the things he knew. He looked at her seriously when she finished

“Honestly no not really, I guess the idea just escapes me”

"I guess it would be hard for you to believe," Ana agreed. "What would it take for you to believe me? You've seen my apartment, I don't sleep in a coffin. You've seen me out during the day, as much as I don't like it..." She fished around for something else. "I guess I could give you my age, but it's just a number."

She sighed a bit in relief and relaxed when they reached the campus. After the confrontation earlier, no-man's land was a good place to be. She beckoned Bain over to a bench and motioned for him to sit down, doing the same.

"How about this, I'll answer any question you want," she suggested.

Bain walked with her to a bench and took a seat beside her. “any question I want huh?” he asked as he lifted his chin up and scratched the underside with his hand as he thought. “well lets see…. Your right I have seen your apartment and it would explain all of the things you posses” he folded her arms over his chest as he continued to look up at the night sky as he thought.

“honestly I’m not sure what I can ask that would prove that you are… what you clam to be” he wasn’t quite sure he could call her a vampire out loud yet. “I guess my first question would have to be how did you get that burn on your arm?”

"It's actually kind of embarassing, considering I'm about to turn three hundred and thirty-seven... I left my blackout curtains open, after you left, and the sun came up while I was asleep," Ana replied. "The sunlight was on my bed, and my arm was in the sun for maybe... an hour and a half or so."

She tugged her sleeve up again so expose the burn. "It'll probably take all winter to heal completely... I'm just lucky it's winter, so I'll be able to wear long sleeves." She grinned sheepishly. "Like I said, embarassing for someone as old as I am."

He raised an eyebrow at her when she said her age but otherwise made no move to interrupt her as she told him how she had burned her arm. He smirked at her. “yea that is kind of embarrassing” he teased. Then he frowned. “does it hurt?” he wasn’t sure if he could help hell he wasn’t even sure if he should help.

If she was a vampire wasn’t he supposed to be afraid of her? he studied her features and heaved a sigh. No he could never bring himself to be afraid of her. there was just something about her that called to him.

Ana nodded.

"Yes, it does," she replied. "Probably about as bad as it looks." Gently, she pulled down the sleeve of her sweater again, glad she'd chosen the cashmere. It was probably the softest thing she owned, and didn't irritate the burn.

"So... did you have any other questions?" she asked. "I mean, if you still don't believe me, I could take you hunting with me, I suppose... Though I really doubt you'd want to watch."

Bain frowned at the idea. She would take him hunting…? He wasn’t exactly squeamish but he didn’t think he could handle watching her suck the life out of another living being. “um… no thanks…” he tried to say it a politely as he could so as not to offend her.

“as for questions, I guess my next question is, have you ever turned anyone else into a vampire? Well I mean if you can” he held his hand up to stop her from answering before he threw in “that is if that wasn’t just something Hollywood came up with”

Ana held back a grin as she watched him squirm. He probably thought she killed her 'doners' instead of just tapping them.

"It's alright, Bain, I'm not offended. But no, I've never turned anyone," she replied. "I've never felt the need to turn anyone. Why," she teased, "do you want to be turned?"

“no.. not right now thanks…” that was a good question though… why had he asked that? he filed that little thought away for further examination when he would be alone and could think fully on this whole situation, but for now…

“so… if your as old as you say you are… then you defiantly don’t age. Is that why you go to school? So no one would suspect…?” he couldn’t believe he was asking these kinds of questions. He still wasn’t sure if he even believed her but for some reason he was just fascinated with the idea.

"College life is ideal for a vampire," Ana replied simply. "If one isn't old enough to be a daywalker yet, then he or she can just take night classes. And there is always a steady stream of students getting drunk or high that won't notice if they lose a bit of blood." Here she added softly, "And I haven't accidentally drained a human in nearly two hundred years."

She glanced around, making sure there weren't any other vampires gathering. She saw one or two on campus, but she recognized them from around the campus and relaxed. They weren't a threat.

"Was there anything else you wanted to know about?" she asked, turning her attention back to Bain. "You haven't asked about my fangs yet, which I honestly expected you to ask about by now."

he looked at her surprised, recovering quickly he replied. “well to be truthful I haven’t actually seen your fangs yet… I was more focused on the other two…. Vampires” he said sheepishly. Leaning in a little closer to her he inspected her face more fully. “so you do have fangs then?” he asked uncertainly as he waited for her to open her mouth again to reveal her teeth.

"I do indeed have fangs," Ana grinned. She bared her teeth at him, making sure to open her mouth and not hiss at him.

The last thing she needed was for him to think she was going to feed on him...

She waited for him to finish whatever kind of inspection he was going to do on her teeth before she closed her mouth and smiled h at him.

"See?" she asked. "They're real."

When she opened her mouth he studied her teeth to see that there were indeed fangs. Bain leaned back just as she was closing her mouth. He whistled softly “I guess you do have fangs and they do look pretty real” then he smiled down at her “but those could just be orthodontic work…” he chuckled lightly

“ok so lets say I do believe you…. What do we do now?” he looked over and watched as some students made their way back onto campus grounds and walked past them. “I mean as a human am I not supposed to know about you?” he added lowly.

"Well, it's not as if humans haven't learned about vampires before..." Ana mused. "Of course, you also haven't said you believe me yet, so it's a moot point, really." She shrugged. "I can't force you to believe me, short of feeding on you, and I doubt either of us wants that to happen."

Glancing at the sky, she stood up.

"It's probably best if you went back to your dorm, Bain... It'll be dawn soon, and I doubt you want to miss another class," she said. "At least one of us should sleep."

He nodded when she pointed out that he probably wouldn’t believe her until she fed on him… and honestly at the moment her wasn’t to sure about that particular idea. He’d rather just humor her then have her prove a point. Ether way it made for an interesting conversation.

“you right… I shouldn’t miss another class” he stood up after her and looked down at her. “would you like me to walk you back to your apartment before I return to my dorm?”

Surprisingly, Ana shook her head.

"It's alright," she replied. "You go on back. There's something I need to do before I go back to my apartment."

Already, she was plotting in her head where she was going to go, and what kind of people she was going to look for. At Bain's questioning look, she grinned a bit.

"I don't have enough time to sleep. So instead of sleep, I need to feed again to keep myself going until tomorrow night." Here, she gave him a questioning look. "Of course, you could come with me... I promise not to bite you."

He was tempted oh how he was. But he wasn’t sure if it was morbid curiosity or the need to actually find out the truth that drove him to want to go and watch her ‘feed’. Looking up at the sky he could see the moon had almost finished its descending and soon the sun would be rising. Sighing regretfully he turned back to face her.

“unfortunately I think I should get some sleep before classes start. But maybe next time…” he winked at her then turned and started to walk in the direction of his dorm. “happy hunting” he called out behind himself. Than as an after thought he turned his head so he could see her through the corner of his eye. “be careful will ya” looking back he continued until he was back in his dormitory. Falling into bed he took a few moments to think over the events of the night before passing out.

Ana smiled at him.

"I'll try to be back before sunrise," she called back. Once Bain was headed towards his dorm, she turned back towards town. It was late, there wouldn't be many people out anymore, so she would have to take whatever she found. It wasn't long before she came upon a homeless man sleeping on a bench. Silently, she sank her fangs into one of his veins, carefully only taking enough to keep her sated until nightfall the next day. As she stood up, she gently tucked a folded twenty into the man's hand. He would wake up with a headache, but he would at least be able to get himself a decent breakfast.

Ana made it back to her apartment just as the sun was starting to peek over the horizon. She made sure to close her blackout curtains this time, and then changed into a different outfit. She looked at her cashmere sweater and sighed. She'd been too hasty with one of her doners... There were spots of blood on her sweater. She'd have to buy a new one if the blood didn't come out. Setting the sweater aside, she pulled out a long-sleeved corset.

The corset was another one of the mondern imitations, but it suited her purpose. It was pale green, an unusual color for the season, with dark lilypads and pink water lillies embroidered on the satin. There were a few blue-and-purple dragonflies interspersed with the water lillies, and the sleeves of the corset covered the burn on her arm. She paired the corset with a paid of dark jeans and swept her hair back in a simple bun.

Once she'd changed, she gathered her textbooks and left her apartment again. The shadows outside were still long enough that she could sit against one of the buildings and read without risking being scorched. And that's exactly what she did, losing her grasp on the flow of time as she opened a book and began to read.

Waking up with just enough time to make it to class Bain threw on a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt. grabbing his books he made his way out of his dorm and toward his first class stopping only momentarily to pick up a beagle.

After was seemed like for ever her finally made his way to history. He couldn’t seemed to get Ana off his mind and he was excited to see her again. he quickened his pace as he made it to their classroom. He wondered if she really had ‘fed’ from humans last night or if she had only been messing with him. but really how could she be messing with him? he could almost hear that hissing noise again and could almost see her fangs… shaking his head to clear his thought he entered class.

Ana glanced up at the familiar footsteps coming into the classroom and smiled a bit when she saw Bain. He looked like he'd pulled his outfit from the laundry pile; his shirt and pants were both wrinkled.

"Good morning," she said softly when he sat down next to her. She could smell the scent of yeast around him; he'd had some sort of bread for breakfast. "Did you sleep well?"

Walking into the class room he locked gazes with Ana. Pleased that no one had sat next to her yet he slid into the seat next to her. “morning” he replied to her, a stray thought weaved its way into his mind as he looked at her. had she been telling the truth and hadn’t slept? Somewhere deep down he new she had been up but yet he wasn’t ready to acknowledge that voice yet.

“yea, how did… uh” he didn’t want to say hunting with the class being as full as it was so he let the sentence hang in hopes that she’d know what he meant.

"I did what I needed to, if that's what you're asking," Ana replied, gracefully skirting around any words that might give her away. "The population of the city is still what it was last night."

As the teacher began his lecture, Ana quickly wrote something down and passed the note to Bain.

Bain took the note she slipped him and read it while the teacher began his lecture. He turned his head toward her an nodded his head. He wasn’t really one for writing notes and he figured that she would understand that he was agreeing to meet her later.

After class he walked her to the door and bid her a farewell. He was excited to be done with his classes and see her again and he wondered if he was really starting to like her…

after class Bain headed out to eat a quick lunch before making his way over to her apartment.

Ana was spread out on her bed, working on a project for class. Her blackout curtain was closed, keeping out the late-afternoon sunlight, and she had a small fan next to her blowing air over her face. She grinned when she heard the knock on her door. Getting up, she was at the door in a split second, opening it.

"You remembered which apartment was mine, I'm impressed," she teased. "Come on in." Once he was inside, she closed the door behind him. "I was just working on our history assignment for next week." She moved around him quickly, relaxed enough to go beyond human speed, and gathered her books so he could sit on the bed.

As he entered he took in all of the items she had and it finally made sense to him why these objects had seemed so odd when he had first been invited into her apartment. Now it was just a part of who she was and he loved it. his eyes widen however when he look in the speed in which she moved.

So it seemed that she had been telling the truth, silently he berated himself, of course she had been telling the truth.

“Ah” he replied intelligently to her statement. The project hadn’t even registered on his worry meter yet. “so how was your day today?” He began nonchalantly he wasn’t sure how to broach subjects with people let alone a girl that he was interested in.
