"My day was uneventful," she answered honestly. She took in his surprised look and honestly wondered what had him surprised when she remembered that he was human and not used to things that vampires did. She grinned.
"Do you believe me now?" she asked.

He smiled sheepishly at her. “I think I’m starting to” he then openly looked around her apartment that back at her. “this is all just… so different to me which I guess in retrospect is a good thing”
“so what else can you do that humans cant?” he asked as he looked her up and down curiously

"I guess it depends on what you're thing about. Speed and strength can translate into a lot, after all," Ana replied. "There's a reason you don't see vampires in the Olympics, after all," she added, teasingly.
To be honest, she was slightly surprised that he hadn't asked about when or how she'd been tured. She supposed that he didn't exactly know where to start with his questions, since he had only just started to believe her, so she'd be patient and let him ask in due time.

so many questions so little time… he had no idea what to ask next. He wasn’t even sure how to ask some of his questions, what if they offended her? he couldn’t have that… so he tried a safe question.
“so… you said that you were three hundred and thirty-seven years old… is that just your vampire years or your human years as well?” wait… had she been a human before? He thought about it for a moment but he couldn’t remember if she had said or not, but he assumed that she had once been human.

"That includes my age before I was turned, yes," Ana replied. "I was nineteen when I was turned, about to turn twenty." Her eyes took on a distant look as she thought back to the time before she was turned. "It was 1692, the year of the witch hunts... I was unlucky enough to be born on All Hallow's Eve, the day the dead come back to the world of the living, so suffice to say it was enough to condemn me as a witch. My family was devastated, and I spent almost a month in prison before they tied me to a rock and tossed me into a lake. I ended up spending twelve hours in that lake..."
She shook herself from the memory.
"Anyways, yes, three hundred and thirty six is my total age," she finished.

He felt a pang of quilt when she told him about her birth. He hadn’t wanted to bring up bad memories and he couldn’t even begin to imagine what that had done to her. he wanted to say he was sorry but he was never good with them so instead he rested his hand on her knee.
He pulled back slightly when a though occurred to him. “Did it hurt when you were changed?” damn it that was probably making the situation worse for her and he hadn’t meant to let the question slip but it had. Sighing he looked at her apologetically.

"Hurt?" Ana repeated. She thought about it for a moment. "Honestly, I don't remember. I think at the time, I was more worried about how the witch hunters were going to kill me than I was about anything else." She tried to reach as far back into her memory as she could, but her memories of her human life were dim with time. "I remember... I felt dizzy and unfocused... I think I wondered what my family would do when I was dead... I knew poor Mary would be terrified that they would go after her next..."
She shook her head.
"I'm sorry, the memories aren't all that clear anymore, it's been such a long time..."

“no its alright don’t worry about it” he looked away studying some of her items.
“did you know the one that turned you?” he asked suddenly. He didn’t know why but he wanted to know. Had it been her choice to turn or had her life been taken from her, though he figured ether way if would have been taken from her. he turned to look back at her and felt a fierce relief that she had survived this long so that he could meet her.

Ana nodded.
"I remember my sire, of course. He was pretending to be the priest for the prison, the one who went around to the prisoners listening to confessions and giving last rites. I'm not sure what exactly he saw in me that he didn't in the others, but by that time, I didn't care. Everything starts to get hazy right around then, because the next clear thing I remember is being thrown into the lake and not drowning," she replied. "I don't know if the lack of focus was because I was being starved or something else, but it doesn't matter now."

Bain nodded. “So after everything… were you left to fend for yourself… or did he stay with you?” he wasn’t sure why he’d asked it. maybe he was just curious or maybe it was answering an even deeper question he wasn’t ready to acknowledge yet. Ether way he wanted to know.

"He stayed for a little while, about thirty years or so. He taught me what I needed to know about feeding and staying alive, and he made sure I knew the rules about the society I'd been reborn into." Here, Ana wrinkled her nose in distaste. "He was crude, though, and had no sense of tact or taste. He told me horror stories about others who had been caught out and about after sunrise, those others who hadn't become daywalkers yet. Looking back, I realize he did this to make sure I wouldn't repeat the same mistake, but he didn't explain to me just why I had to stay out of the sun until a certain time. He just said that I would go up faster than a gasoline-soaked brushfire."

Bain chuckled at the last part. Now that was a saying. This man sounded interesting and he wondered if he were still out their wandering from place to place. Sighing inwardly he took in the information she had given him. and he began to wonder if she had ever felt lonely. Moving from place to place after only a couple of years. She’d have to resettle somewhere new just after she had gotten used to a place.
Then his mind went back to the question he had asked last night. Why hadn’t she felt the need to change anyone? Maybe he was wrong in thinking she was lonely?
“so how long will you be staying here until you have to move again?” he didn’t want to know the answer but he felt if he didn’t know he would be cheating himself out of time with her.

((sorry it's so short, posting frm my phone))
"Two or three years, maybe... I could stay longer if I looked older, since I can't look nineteen for too long," Ana replied. "Why?"
She thought about his questions. Asking about her turning, and about her sire... If she wasn't mistaken, he sounded almost jealous when he asked if her sire had stayed with her... And now he was asking about when she would leave.
Was it possible he was... interested in her?

“I was just wondering” he said innocently, she looked like she was thinking about something and he hopped she hadn’t guessed to close to the truth. Redirecting her thoughts he questioned.
“whats it like being a vampire?”
((its alright mines not that much better ^-^;; ))

((i only just found the internet again please forgive me my phone does diddly squat overseas~))
Ana blinked at the unexpected question.
"Once you get used to such a thing, it's not unlike being human. Your limitations are different, of course, but so are your talents. Of course, things change as you age... I'm not the same as I was when I was a fledgeling, after all."
In her head, Ana began to grow suspicious. He'd changed the subject on purpose, just as she did to mislead too-perceptive humans. What exactly did he not want her to know?

“Ah, I see” he said as if he was completely interested. He turned away when she looked at him though. It almost seemed like she had caught onto what he was trying to do. Looking around to try and find something to talk about his eyes landed on the books and paper work for school.
“so are you almost done with your project?” he looked back at her and smiled.

((the internet in this stupid irish hotel is crap~))
"Almost," she replied carefully. "It's not exactly hard when you've lived through the time period you're reporting on."
She was surprised that he hadn't asked about her family or her life before her turning. Perhaps he thought it would be rude...?
"You know," she murmured, "you can ask whatever you want. If French hookers can't offend me, I doubt you can."

he looked at her oddly with a smirk plastered on his face. He wanted to laugh but decided better on it.
“French hookers?” he inquired casually. He nodded his head up and down trying to think of a scenario where she would be involved with French hookers. And his mind went south of the border. Quickly looking away from her to banish the thought and to calm himself down. when he was stable again he turned to look back at her. still smirking.
“so… what were you doing with French hookers?”

"Curious?" Ana asked innocently in reply. It seemed to be time for her to start taking control of the conversation.
"You're changing the subject again," she pointed out gently. "What are you trying so desperately to dance around?" Perhaps if she could just figure out what was bothering him...

He was all to curious now seeing as she had completely by passes the question. he smirked at her. he knew what she was trying to do and she’d have to do a lot better then that to side track him.

Ana rolled her eyes.
"One of my sisters was a prostitute in the late eighteenth century," she replied. "She never had the best manners, even after her turning." She thought for a moment. "I'm not sure where she is now."
She looked back at Bain. "Now... I can tell you've tried to change the subject a few times... what is it that you're afraid of asking?" Was he afraid of finding out who she was as a human? Or was he afraid of discovering the monster beneath her civilized exterior?

He was actually surprised that she had answered him. he didn’t think she would actually own up to knowing a prostitute personally granted it was her sister. He inwardly sighed well there had gone his leverage. Now he had nothing over her but that didn’t mean he could still doge he questions.
“I’m not afraid of asking anything really” and truthfully he wasn’t it was more of he was unsure about what he felt and that irritated him. Well… that and he wasn’t ready for her to figure out he was confused of his feelings for her. so he kept it at that not wanting to change the subject again otherwise she might get more suspicious.

Ana smilled slightly at the surprise on his face.
"What?" she asked innocently. "Katrine is one of my blood sisters. She's younger than I am by maybe a hundred years. We were both turned by the same sire."
She looked at him for a minute or so, assessing his truthfulness.
"What is it you're afraid of, then, if not asking a question?"

he blood sister? He had to smile at that. then he wonder… how many vampires were there? Tossing the thought aside for later examination he barely caught her last question. he was thrown horrible off stride by it. he had hoped her questions would have been curved… apparently not.
“your not going to drop this are you?” he asked with a sigh.

"I'll drop it when you stop dancing around it. I'm not blind, Bain. I've been watching humans for over three hundred years, I know when someone isn't telling the whole truth," Ana replied. As soon as the words were out of her mouth, she froze. Had she gone too far? Bain wasn't like other humans, after all... And if she was being honest with herself, she didn't want to lose him. After all, he knew her secret, and aside from that, she really liked him.
"Whatever's bothering you, I can almost guarantee I won't be offended by it," she added, almost as an afterthought.
