Fading: You're obviously better than me. lol.
I can only speak English and can understand
a few words from other languages. Haha.
Chinese looks really hard. I think the next
easiest language besides English would be Spanish.

Ayumi: Yeah, I've only taken one semester of an art class in 10th grade.
(Then ended up homeschooling.
I didn't learn a ton or anything though..)
I've mainly been self taught but observation and a few tutorials and books.
I started with anime and then fell back in love with Disney movies,
and my style started morphing into that and semi-realism.

I should be thinking about what colleges want too.
My parents want me to go to this technical school I went to this past year
for another class (Website Design). I took 3D Design and Animation last year.
I don't really wanna go back though, (one reason is because they moved their campus) and another is just I'd rather focus on school and drawing.
But it would look good on resumes and college applications.

I haven't been in an orchestra for a while.
I miss it. But My last semester of orchestra was horrible.
As a freshman I was so happy with violin because I was working really hard on it,
got in chamber orchestra, 3rd chair. And we were with 9th-12th graders.
And my teacher really liked me.
But in 10th grade, my chair kept going further and further, my teacher was getting divorced and was always angry, and didn't like me because I was friends with someone she didn't like.
And also a few of our really good players had graduated the year before.
So besides the company (kids in orchestra were pretty awesome) I left on a sour note.

I'd like to join another orchestra though, because I don't really like hearing myself. lol. I like it when I get to play while my private teacher plays with me.
I'm trying my best to fight off the urges to quit the violin since it's not my passion any more.

Wow. Sorry for the ramblinggg. D8

I like it, but I didn't like all the pressure I got from my parents and my private teacher.
*shrug*
I might play by myself a bit.

I loved my orchestra class. I was one of like 7 first violins. I wasn't the worst nor the best. But it was fun.
8D
Next year our orchestra will suck though. I'm leaving, along with two other players of the first violin. And the freshmen coming in suck.

And so we'll have like 6 first violins and 3 basses and 8 celli (lul) and like 13 second violins and 9 violas....

Ah, I see.
Yeah, my mom is always wanting me to practice.
But I don't take her seriously.
My teacher isn't to strict either.
She's really encouraging. I'm basically staying
with the violin because of her.

Aw man. heh.
Yeah, I remember when I left my middle school orchestra,
they were horrible.
Not because I was the best player or anything,
but me along with about 4 other players
in my grade were better and the
orchestra was left with really poor players.
But It's just like any orchestra,
some years you have amazing players,
some years, pretty good, and some years,
pretty bad. It was really cool when we had
a player that had been playing since they were little. xDD

I think the chamber orchestra I was in
was about at 55 or up when I left.
There might be more now.
It was always pretty tight in the room we practiced in.
And it was really huge when we did concerts,
because sometimes we'd play with the regular orchestra too.
So that was over 100 players.
The middle school orchestras are pretty small though,
it's just that the BA orchestra for high school is all together,
so everyone merges.

Here Suki:
You get some freebie art too. <333

Sorry it took so long.
I had done everything except colored the cape,
but when I came back to look for the file,
it wasn't there
so I had to start over from the sketch. D8

Really? I think Spanish is terribly hard and I can only understand a few words in it xD
I can never for my life learn how to pronounce some of the words...my tongue is too stiff and can't manage all the curls D8
It's one of the reasons why I chose to learn Japanese, because they have even stiffer tongues, so I have no problem with pronuncing their language xD;;

Ayumi: Okay!
Can you download it for free?
Or how much is it???

Demanding: Aw, thanks~! <33

TwilightTigerStar: Yup! Me and Ayumi have been chatting. ;DD

FelineOrchid: Thank you. C:

Fading: Well, I took some Spanish in middle school,
and a full year in high school,
so I guess I got used to it.
But I was always pretty good at rolling my R's. lol.
I mean, I can't say everything correctly all the time,
but for the most part it's easy.
And I see what you been about Japanese.
But it's still kinda hard to actually sound like they do,
something about speaking through their throat I think.
I forget now.

And aww! Yay! I'm really glad you like it. <33333
You're welcome! xDDD
And thanks so much for the tip!

Oh ouch. Well, you might get lucky and see that today is one of those days where your arms and fingers know everything and your violin sounds great.

Though in my ... 6? years of violin, I've had those days like... 3 times?

Oh, yeah, our teacher mentioned the throat thing too, but I've never understood just what the throat-voice was >_>; I just mimic it the way I've heard people speak in Japanese dramas and movies...^^;

And no prob, the pic is totally worth every gold x3 I've never gotten such good art before <333

Oh wow, so much awesome art in here Rini! I love the one you did for suki! The colors are so vibrant. :D

I think Spanish is one of the easiest languages to learn honestly. I took five years of it in high school and a semester in college, and while I'm not fluent by any means, I can understand what's going on (more or less) when people speak it. I'm not so great at speaking it myself, but I can get by. It's also one of those languages that are important to learn -- at least in the U.S. where the population of Spanish-speakers is growing quickly.

I think Chinese would be a good language to learn too actually, since China is an up-and-comer on the international stage. And since the U.S. owes China so much money, we may become more affiliated with them in the future... Who knows!

Re: Violin talk:

I played viola for about four years before I quit... It was fun, but I couldn't do vibrato very well, so that kinda tanked my ability to continue further with it. :(

Haha, that was my reasoning for taking spanish. And that's my reason for trying to continue with Mandarin.

Vibrato is a tough skill to master. Surprisingly, I learned more skills from my fellow orchestra members than my teacher...

Yeah, taking Spanish will probably pay off eventually. I have a pool in my neighborhood and when I go down there, at least 50% of people there don't speak English, but do speak Spanish. Last year I had some guy trying to talk to me -- he was there with his toddler-aged daughter who was also trying to tell me something that I didn't understand. I finally got that he wanted to know what time it was and what time the pool closed, and I managed to give him the answers. I still didn't know what the little girl was saying though. FAIL!

Yeah, vibrato is hard! I dunno. I didn't really get much good instruction on how to do it. They would just say "move your wrist back and forth like this..." and that's about it. I probably just needed to practice it. I wasn't good at practicing. XP I played guitar too and again, I didn't really practice so I didn't get any better.

You have to feel it once, then you could probably get it. But it isn't something that many people can do.

But the violin seriously messed up my hands and wrists.
D:
So... eh.

Oh, Sizz, by the way, awesome avatar!

No, sadly, I don't. I only know a few words in it, and my grammar sucks. D:

Yeah, Spanish's pretty important if one lives in the states, but I just couldn't manage to learn it, even though I spent two years in an elementary that had about 50% of its population as Spanish-speakers. The only words I know are 'si', 'no', and '1 2 3'. x__X

I remember trying out a violin once at a place where they let you try out different instruments...I managed to make one, great "SQUEEEEAK" with the violin the instructor lent me...it made everyone (including myself) jump xD I never touched another violin after that...>.>;
