I totally look like an alien right now. Just stepped out of the shower, dried the hair to damp and rolled it in these fun foam zip tie thingies I have that curl your hair to the point of Southern Belle curly. Amazing little invention that cost me $10 at the county fair one year. They are all sticking up at odd angles, hence the alien look.

I think I know what you're talking about. Or something similar. I want some. I'm addicted to having curly hair (not natural like my sister ) but I freaking hate curling irons. Foam rollers are annoying to sleep in. T_T

I have predominantly straight hair myself, with a bit of a wave, nothing really pretty though.

Sleeping in the foam rollers isn't an issue for me, sleep just fine. And living in the desert, for some reason my hair won't hold a curl from a curling iron. Damnedest thing.

I have these largish pink foam rollers. They'd be okay except they have this plastic snap-bar that keeps them clipped in. That's the part that drives me nuts.
