So Jon and Kate are getting a divorce. I guess it was expected, I just love them (Or at least Jon and the Kids) too much to see them split up ]: It's pathetic how sad I was over the fact that they wouldn't be in my living room anymore, and that they wouldn't be together, but oh well xD I never pay attention to celebrities but I couldn't help but to be completely obsessed with this family, and now they are splitting up and I am super sad.

What do you think about the divorce? Are you happy or no? Do you care as much as I do? Do you care at all? What do you think of Jon and Kate?

Once she hit the tabloids and television, she enjoyed all the attention. Ditching her family, not even really paying attention to her children, then getting after them for being a kid... Honestly, I didn't see it working out either. I think John liked her once upon a time. But after he saw how much Kate had thrust herself into the spotlight, he didn't want a part of it. Quite possibly at first, but it just wasn't what he wanted. That show turned her into a snob. :/

Personally, I don't know how people can stand to watch reality shows and such. I didn't even know who these people were until a few days ago, because I never watch that kind of stuff and I don't pay attention to these kinds of things. So I could care less what they do. Something like fifty percent of marriages end in divorce, so it doesn't come as any surprise to me. It seems like people who are famous get divorced even more, so these people ending up on TV was probably a death sentence to their relationship. Tons of people watching what they do and gossiping about it, you know that's got to be bad. Then again, it might have happened anyway, so many people screw up when it comes to relationships without any outside help in doing so. Also too many kids is probably a huge stressor as well. People get divorced all the time, unless it's someone I personally know and care about, then I don't really care if someone can't make their relationship work.

Wasn't Jon cheating on her anyway? I don't know, I never watched the show and I didn't follow their little bit of drama because I think celeb gossip is ridiculous.
(Which makes one wonder why I responded to the thread, since I clearly just DO NOT CARE. xDD)

Honestly? I never liked either of them. They're both poor parents, and the only one or two episodes I was forced to be tied down and watch made me want to take the kids and put them under nearly anybody else. They aren't great parents and they aren't great spouses. (But could we really have considered them wise when they decided to use fertility medicines and create even the chance of having that many kids? Without a TV show, how would they have fed them?)

But I digress. This isn't really the point of this, is it?

I'm sad. Mostly because the kids are either going to be parented by the harpy or the cheater, and I'll betcha ten bucks they don't get a choice in who winds up their legal guardian. That and the show is going to most likely continue, considering all the press it's getting. I've never been a fan of reality shows, though, so I'm a poor judge.

It's sad that a family was split up because the parents let fame and fortune go to their heads. I couldn't really care less about the misfortune of the parents, but I feel really bad for the kids. They never had a choice one whether or not they wanted to be put on TV, and now their being subjected to what will probably be an extremely messy divorced with lawsuits and so many court-appearances, it'll make your head spin.

I never really watched the show, just because I couldn't stand how controlling and attention seeking that woman is.
That doesn't stop me from feeling bad for her kids...

sorry if this thread has already been made. :P

let's talk about them. who do you think is more in the wrong? do you think kate is crazy? do you think jon is a ho?

i think kate is completely crazy and dramatic. i don't think she takes very good care of the kids, but she finds someone else to blame all the time. jon's girlfriends are kind of crazy and i question his judgement, but i think he's a good father. it's amazing that he put up with kate that long.

what i want to see is kate no longer acting like the victim. it gets on my nerves. she also needs to stop craving all of this attention. i thought the whole thing with the aunt was crazy. did you hear about that? kate apparently cut off their relationship because TLC wanted to pay her to be on the show.

so, what do you think?

I've seen very little of the show. Perhaps two or three episodes. But I think they both have very little redeeming qualities. They're both pretty much douches. But on a basic level, I don't care. I'm just tired of the media hype and am waiting for them at their eight little cash cows to go away.

very true. i like to watch because i think it's funny, if not a little irritating.

i don't read much of the gossip magazines or TV shows, but i do see their faces at the supermarket a lot.

I never really watched the show either, and it was mostly because of how much of a bum Jon was... ugh. His personality and presents is just a turn off.

Nobody is perfect, and everyone is going to make mistakes, especially under the spotlight. I dislike both of them, I never liked the show, but I think people are judging them extremely harsh. There are parents out there way worse than them, and for having that many kids I think they probably did an exceptional job. Octomom is the one that REALLY makes me mad.
