Leane sighed as she finished her burger. Leaning back in the booth, Leane rested her head back on Matt's shoulder, "Class.. I don't want to go.."

"None of us do. Sucks being a high-school-er, doesn't it," Jenny said with a laugh.

"Agreed." Gina smiled from across the booth as she leaned into Jack. "But I don't think we have much of a choice for two more years." She said as the waitress placed the check on the table and the three guys reached into their wallet to pay for themselves and their respective girlfriends. "Thank you." Gina said quietly as she stretched up to kiss his neck.

"Not a chance," Jenny and Leane said in unison, laughing right after at their jinx.

"You always pay, let us for a change," Jenny explained to Matt and Ben, she and Leane both taking out cash enough to pay for the meals.

"We always pay because we're guys. Its a nice gesture we're trying to make here." Ben said as they both put their hands over their girlfriend's in an attempt to get them to put their money away.

"You girls shouldn't make this so hard on us." Matt said with an eyeroll as Gina took out her own money to put a tip on the table before linking hands with Jack under the table. "See now why can't you help pay the tip like Gina?" Matt asked with a small smile.

"Yes but while you guys duke it out over the money, I'm going to steal my girlfriend and we'll meet you guys back at school." Jack said with a warm smile as he slipped out of the booth with Gina.

"See you guys." Gina grinned girlishly before the two disappeared from the diner.

Leane laughed as she poked Matt's nose, "Perhaps, but you shouldn't have to always pay or us."

"Really! Can't we make a compromise? We'd be much happier if you let us get the tab once in awhile," Jenny added with a teasing pout as she looked up at Ben.

"Yes we can compromise." Ben smiled devilishly. "You can pay for the tip and we can pay for the meal. What do you think Matt?" He asked his friend.

"I think that sounds like a good compromise.You girls should pick that." Matt winked down at Leane.

"Hmmm, how about you guys pay the tip, and we pay the bill?" Leane suggested as she placed a tender kiss upon Matt's lips. "Sound good?"

"Sounds good to me," Jenny said with a grin as she looked up at Ben, "What say you? Agreed?"

Ben sighed as a frown settled on his lips. "Just this once." He mumbled unhappily, figuring it was best to just go along with his girlfriend for now.

"Alright then." Matt said, caving as well. "But this isn't going to be a usual thing." He reminded Leane as he set out the money for a tip.

Jenny and Leane gave each other a high-five before handing the money to the not-so-patiently waiting waitress.

Kissing his pouting lips, Jenny smiled as she whispered softly, "Thank you."

"I promise, I'll let you pay the next time we go out," Leane said with a smile as she wrapped her arms around his waist, "Promise you're not angry with me?"

"Shouldn't I be thanking you since you're the one that paid?" Ben asked with a smile as he returned her kiss. "We should be going." He murmured as his forehead rested against Jenny's before standing up from the booth with both of his hands in Jenny's. "See you guys back at school." He said, Matthew raising a hand in response before turning his attention back to Leane.

"Of course I'm not angry with you, my little worrywart." Matthew teased playfully before placing a kiss on her forehead.

"Good. Pouting doesn't become you," Leane teased as she placed a tender kiss upon his lips, "I love you."

Jenny laughed as she headed towards the car, "So, where shall I drop you off at school before I park out back behind the gymnastics room again? Can't have you being late, can we?"

"I love you too." Matthew smiled against Leane's lips. "But we should get back to school too." He laughed before standing from the booth.

"Yeah that'd be best because Garrison will write me up if I show up late." Ben sighed as he slipped into the passenger's seat and buckled his seatbelt.

"Mmm," Leane whined as she stretched before laughing and following Matt, linking her fingers with his, "What a bore."

"Well I can't have you getting written up. Middle doors closer than the end doors?" Jenny inquired as she pulled out of the diner parking lot and headed back towards school.

"I know but I can't be with a high school drop out. My parents wouldn't approve." He winked before leading her out of the diner and back to his car where he hopped into the driver's seat.

"Yeah, the middle doors are fine." Ben said as he looked over to Jenny in the driver's seat. "You're really pretty, you know that?" Ben asked curiously, his eyes never leaving her face.

"There's always the homeschooling alternative!" Leane said with a laugh as she slipped into the passenger's seat, "But we both know how well that would go."

"You're only saying that because you're dating me," Jenny said with a laugh as she brushed it off. Turning into the parking lot, Jenny parked along the sidewalk by the middle doors. "I'll see you after school?"

"Horribly." Matthew laughed as he started the car and headed back to school. "But it was worth a shot, love." He teased.

"I'm only saying that because you're beautiful and I thought you should know." Ben smiled as he unhooked his seatbelt and leaned over the middle compartment to give his girlfriend a kiss. "I love you." He murmured. "See you after school." He smiled before jumping out of the car and heading into the building towards his next class.

"Mm, it's a nice thought. I just wish all classes could be as relaxing as art class. Everything else is such a bore," Leane said with sigh as she looked out the window. "How much longer do we have until we're out of high school again?" Leane asked with a laugh.

Jenny blushed a deep scarlet as she pulled the car around back where it was, Ben's words filling her mind as she made her way back into the school towards her next class.

"One and a half years. So basically forever." Matthew laughed as he pulled into school and found a parking spot that was halfway to the door. "Ready?" He asked teasingly, knowing how bad Leane didn't want to go though he hopped out of the car anyways.

Nodding, Leane slid out of the car and walked around to the front. Linking her fingers with his, Leane yawned as she rested her cheek upon his arm. "Oh all right, I'll go. But I won't like it," Leane added with a laugh.

"You don't have to like it you just have to graduate." Matthew reminded her as he led her back into the building for the second half of the school day.

"Mmmm, and what a glorious day that will be!" Leane said with a laugh as they went to their lockers before going to class. The second half of the day was much the same as the first for Leane. Boring, dull, tiresome. Her thoughts kept drifting to the weekend, when her parents would be home and her birthday party would ensue.

Matthew sighed in relief as the three o'clock bell rang over head and he packed up his things before putting them away in his locker. Then Matthew made his way to the hall where he waited patiently resting up against Leane's locker.

When Leane reached her locker, Leane put her books on top of the row of lockers before wrapping her arms around Matt's waist. Resting her forehead on his chest, Leane closed her eyes as she breathed in the smell of his cologne before sighing. "Finally, it's over. Hard to believe tomorrow's Saturday.. I'm dreading it.. Can we start the week over?" Leane whispered softly as she buried her face deeper into his shirt.

"No." Matthew frowned as he put his arms around Leane, his own sense of worry working its way into his stomach. "But its your birthday so at there's some good in this situation." He smiled though he knew he'd be lucky if he got through this weekend without Leane's parents killing him.

"Since tomorrow's my birthday, and my parents won't be home until Sunday, will you keep me company for the day? We don't have to do anything special, I just don't want to go home and be with Josh.." Leane admitted softly. "Do you think I'm wretched for avoiding him like I am?"
