"I bet he's awful hurt right now that you left him without you two getting a chance. But I know he'll forgive you." Matthew said softly into Leane's hair. "But you should really talk to him about what happened. He's probably confused and if he's anything like you there's probably a few thigns broken in his path when he got upset." He teased, only half-kidding.

"Oh I'm certain the housing staff had a lot to clean up after I left," Leane laughed as she hugged Matt close. "I don't even know where to begin.. We already told him what happened and how.. What more is there to say?"

"That you love him and then he can tell you how much he still loves you no matter what happens." Matthew explained before kissing her lips gently.

"Its no wonder she's knocked up." A girl student giggled to her friend as they walked by. "They're always slobbering all over each other." She finished with a cruel laugh before disappearing down the hall.

Matthew shot the girl's back a glare as his arms which had previously been almost cradling Leane became restraints around her to keep her from running after the girls, keeping her locked to his body.

Leane's cheeks grew hot the moment those girls walked by. Not from embarrassment. Oh no, not that. It was from fury. "Matt, let go," Leane said through gritted teeth, "Let me go right this second. I'm going to smack those grins right off their faces!"

"No." Matthew said firmly as he pulled her closer, keeping her in place. "You make a scene and its going to get ten times worse. Just let it go. Please?" He begged.

"It's not fair.." Leane whispered, tears falling from her eyes due to the anger and frustration she was feeling. She wasn't ashamed, nor embarrassed by their words. It was merely frustration that brought these tears on. "I hate Kurt for doing this to us."

"I know, Lee." Matthew murmured as he ducked his head to kiss the skin behind her ear. "I know its awful and the last person to deserve it is you." He told her, his fingers caressing the small of her back. "But if we fight people on it when its none of their business its only going to blow up into something its not so let's just keep a low profile for now, okay?" He asked softly.

"But what if I am pregnant? Matt, I won't be able to hid a growing stomach forever.. They'll find out and it'll get worse for the both of us," Leane whispered as her fingertips clutched the back of his shirt.

"If you're pregnant then we're going to have to deal with the teasing and the remarks but the only people's opinions who should matter are the people who don't tease us for it." Matt soothed as he held her closer, his arms loosening around her waist. "We're going to get through this, Leane. I promise." He said softly.

"I know that.. Honest I do.. I just.. I hate them for doing this.. They would never have dreamed of doing this before I started dating you. What makes them think they can do this now? Because Kurt and his band of rejects do it out of jealousy and blindness leadership?" Leane whispered through her tears with a sigh. "I used to love it here... Now I can't stand the sight of these walls.."

"I'm sorry..." Matthew sighed and he truly was. Leane had just said it as much as she would deny but the second they had started to date people had turned on her, making her an outcast like him. And she was the least deserving person of such a punishment.

Smiling, Leane leaned back and wiped the tears from her eyes. Shaking her head, Leane hushed him, "No, don't be. If you say you're sorry, you'll be apologizing for ever dating me, and I won't have that. It's not your fault. Besides, I wouldn't change a thing even if I could. I love you, Matt, through thick and thin."

"I love you too, Leane." Matthew smiled as he kissed her forehead though a part of him told him that if she could back maybe she would've picked someone else. Not Kurt of course but she could've been perfectly happy with someone like Kenny. Someone who wasn't him.

"Promise me you won't start imagining a life in which we hadn't met that day," Leane said with a half-hearted laugh, "I don't want to have to worry about you feeling guilty and leaving me to 'find someone better'. I'd be lost without you," Leane admitted with a smile as she placed a tender kiss upon his lips.

"I promised you that I wouldn't leave you and I have no intention of going back on that promise." Matthew assured her as he met her kiss. And he wouldn't leave her, he was in too far now anyways but that didn't mean he wished that things could be easier for her somehow.

"I know," Leane said with a warm smile as she brushed the last of her tears from her cheeks, "You just had that look about you and I wanted you to know I still love you and will be lost without you."

"I love you too, Leane. And I can't imagine leaving you." Matthew promised before kissing her forehead. "Now what do you say we get out of here?" He asked with a smile as his lips lowered to her ear.

"I have practice," Leane said reluctantly as she placed a tender kiss upon his neck, "I wish I could.."

"Then I'll come back for you after practice and steal you away so we can celebrate your birthday weekend." Matthew promised before kissing her lips. "Let me walk you to the gym?" He asked.

"Of course," Leane nodded with a warm smile as she wrapped her arms around his waist. "But you have to promise, no presents," Leane said with a laugh, kissing his cheek shortly after. Putting her books into her locker and grabbing her gym bag, Leane slung it over her shoulder before linking her fingers with Matt's. "Ready," Leane said before placing a kiss upon his lips and leading him down the hallway.

"Right, no presents." Matthew said though he did a mental eyeroll as he led Leane in the direction of the gym. "I'll see you at six." He said as they reached the gym doors. "I love you." He murmured before giving Leane's lips a quick kiss goodbye.

"I love you too," Leane called softly before turning towards the gym and going to the locker room. Thankful no one was there yet, Leane quickly changed before going to the weight room. Turning on her iPod, Leane began cycling on the bike, warming up for the routine she would later perform during competition practice. It wasn't long before Jenny joined her in the weight room on the second bike.

Matthew left school and made his first stop at a jewelry store a few streets over from where he lived. He didn't have much saved up from allowance and odd jobs but it would be enough for something simple for Leane.

"Good afternoon." The elderly woman behind the counted smiled at him as he walked inside. "Can I help you find something?" She asked as she eyed the young man in her shop.

"I need something beautiful for my girlfriend. Its her birthday." Matthew explained as he walked up the counter to look at the jewelry laid out. "Something sapphire. I know she adores that." He said to the woman.

"What about this?" The woman asked, holding up a long gold chain with a sapphire encircled with small diamons hanging from it in her wrinkly hand.

"I can't afford something like that." Matthew blushed a deep red, knowing how much Leane would've loved that necklace.

"Something simplier then." The woman said, bustling around the counter in search of something different. "What about this dear?" She asked as silver chain dangled from her hand, a simple sapphire gem hanging delicately at its end.

"That's perfect." Matthew announced happily, much to the woman's delight. He handed over the money and the woman giftwrapped the necklace of rhim before handing it over in exchange. "Thank you." He smiled at the woman.

"Your welcome darling. I'm sure your girlfriend will love it." She encouraged before Matthew returned to his home to wait til six.

"So? Any special plans for your birthday besides the big party on Sunday?" Jenny asked breathlessly as they lifted small weights to keep their arms strengthened for the bars.

"Not really. I'll probably spend tomorrow with Matt since I'm avoiding Josh at the moment. It'll be hard enough dealing with Mother and Father.." Leane admitted softly with a sigh.

"Don't worry, Leane, your Father will do everything in his power to keep you, you know that," Jenny encouraged as she took a swig from her water bottle.

"I know, but it's Mama that I'm worried about," Leane admitted with a laugh, "She'll through a nightmare if I really am pregnant."

"I wouldn't believe her to do otherwise," Jenny said with a laugh, "Remember when we went..."

Soon the two were laughing and reminiscing about their past run-ins with Mrs. Supton.

Before they knew it, practice was over. Their routines had been practiced so many times they would be doing them in their sleep tonight. But, what could you expect? The competition was next Saturday. They only had a week left to prepare.

Ben was settled in Matthew's passenger's seat on the way to pick up their girlfriends from practice. "So Leane's birthday's Sunday?" Ben asked curiously.

"Yeah and she made me promise not to get her a present." Matthew said as he pulled into the parking lot.

"Oh, so what'd you get her?" Ben asked.

"A necklace. Hopefully she'll like it." Matthew said as he spotted the gym doors and pulled his car up to the curbside.

"She'll love anything you give her dude." Ben assured him as they waited for their girlfriends.
