"Yes. I once met this girl. Cheerleader, very beautiful as you'd think. But a total snob, beat me up to get me to go to the hospital and everything." Matthew teased. "I was inches from deah when that doctor saved me. If it hadn't been for him-" Matthew paused, letting out a dramatic gust of breath. "It was touch and go for a while." He said as he took another bite of his macaroni and cheese.

Rolling her eyes playfully, Leane grinned and teased before finishing her lasagna, "Really? From the way I heard it, you got yourself beat up so you could take your that cheerleader to the ER room and make her worry until she nearly had a stroke. Then, as a way of apologizing, you two had a bit of a session on the examination table as you two played Doctor and Patient."

"Yes but I'm betting she enjoyed herself." Matthew teased, wriggling his eyebrows before eating a few more of his fries.

"You better believe it," she said with a wink as she popped a fry into her mouth.

Grinning, Leane picked up her burger and took a bite. Again, her movements were the same as before. Wiping the ketchup from her lips with a napkin, Leane chuckled, "I'm definitely glad we came here. I think I've just found my new hangout, I'll have to make Jenny and Joanna stop their crazy diets and try this.. That is, if they speak to me again," she added softly as she took another bite of her burger.

"They're going to talk to you again." Matthew smiled as he ate a few more fries. "Don't worry." He soothed as he finished his macaroni and cheese. "But if you like this spot so much I might have to show you some of our other usual hang out spots." Matthew laughed.

Leane sighed as she took a drink, "I'm not so sure about Jen and Jo, but the other hangouts sound fun," she added with a smile before taking a bite of her burger.

Finishing her burger, Leane turned to her fries and inquired, "So where shall we run off to next, Mr. Sommers? No point in going back to school until later to pick up our books for the classes we actually went to, and no point in getting our homework for the classes we missed until tomorrow, so we've got another hour or two to kill. And, since you're the one deathly wounded," she teased, "you get to choose what we do."

"Well there's a movie theater around the corner down this street." Matthew shrugged. "The seats are relatively comfortable. Has there been anything you've been dying to see? Because I'm betting The Land of the Undead is out." He teased.

Leane rolled her eyes playfully as she took a sip of her drink, "I'm guessing that means you're going to make me see a horror movie? I'll warn you now, I'm going to end up clinging, unless that's your ultimate goal," she teased as she popped a fry into her mouth.

"Nah, we don't have to see a scary movie. I don't want to freak you out." Matthew laughed as he ate another fry. "Is there anything playing that you want to see?" He offered as he put more ketchup on his plate to finish his fries.

Leane smiled as she finished her fries and took a sip of her drink, "Nah, not particularly. We can watch that movie if you'd like, though. Just don't make fun of me if I randomly close my eyes or jump a bit, okay?"

"Alright then." Matthew smiled. "Guess I'm going to steal your scary movie virginity." He teased as he finished eating and took a last sip of his water.

"Are you ready for your check?" The waitress asked, having noticed the couple's empty plates.

"Yes please." Matthew said. The waitress set the bill on the table and left to the two alone. Matthew reached for his wallet, pulling out a couple of tens for the check plus tip. "Are you ready?" He asked Leane as he stood up.

Grabbing her purse, Leane nodded as she stood up and got out of the booth. Taking her hand in his, Leane gently bumped her hip against his, "You know, I said I'd treat you, not let you treat me."

"Yeah but I was deathly wounded." Matthew teased as he opened front door to the diner and led her outside. "I figure that if I can kiss up to you then I won't end up within inches of death again." He smiled as she pulled her into a tender kiss before walking to the other side of the car.

Leane rolled her eyes as she took out her keys and unlocked the doors. Sliding into the driver's seat, Leane started her Prius after putting her purse at Matt's feet. Leaning over the center of the seat, Leane placed a tender kiss upon Matt's lips and teased, "If you wanted to kiss up to me, you should have just kissed me."

After placing another tender kiss upon his lips, Leane leaned back into her seat and put her seatbelt on. Pulling out of the diner parking lot, Leane headed in the direction of the movie theater.

"What do you think they make hospital rooms for?" Matthew joked as they drove. "I've been dying to see this movie." He laughed as they reached the movie theater. "The commercials are even scary. Its your last chance to back out." He teased as he wriggled his eyebrows.

Rolling her eyes playfully, Leane parked the car and turned it off. After getting out and walking around to the front, Leane called over as Matt got out of the car and she locked the doors, "And miss a chance to hold onto your hand every time I get scared? Not a chance," she added as she stuck out her tongue playfully.

"Were you not planning on holding my hand anyways?" Matthew laughed as he pulled Leane into his arms to give her a tender kiss before leading her inside. "But you never know this could be my plan all along." He teased as he opened the door of the movie theater for her.

Rolling her eyes playfully as she walked up to the counter, Leane teased over her shoulder, "Well, your plan might just work Mr. Sommers." Turning back to the counter, Leane handed the woman her credit card, "Two for Land of the Dead... or something like that.."

"You mean Land of the Undead?" the woman asked with a chuckle.

"Yes! That was it," Leane replied softly with a laugh.

"Sure thing," the woman said as she punched in some keys on the computer and swiped Leane's credit card. Handing the card back to Leane along with a receipt to sign, the woman smiled, "It's in theater four just around the corner. Can I get you two anything?"

"A small popcorn, a package of Milk Duds, and a large Raspberry Snapple for me," she replied as she handed the receipt back to the woman and took their tickets. Turning back to Matt, Leane smiled, "Want anything?"

"I'm fine." Matthew smiled as he looped his arm around Leane's waist. "Still trying to figure out where you put it all." He joked as he patted her thin waist.

Leane laughed as she handed the woman her credit card and signed another receipt before placing the card back into her purse. Taking the drink and the popcorn, Leane placed a tender kiss upon Matt's cheek, "I'm afraid even I can't answer that question. Josh teases and says I'll end up blowing up once I hit adulthood. I still say he's crazy though. I mean, look at my mother. She's the exact same way as I am, and she hasn't blown up yet. I think I'm quite safe. And even if I'm not, Does he really think I can give up all my sweets and food? Not a chance.. It'd be like asking me to quit cheering!" she added with a laugh as neared Theater Four, "You don't think I eat too much, do you? Ooo, I bet you do don't you. Not to mention I babble far to much don't I.. You really should learn to shut me up!"

"But your cute when your rambling." Matthew smiled as he opened the theater doors. "Why would I want to stop you?" He said as he realized the theater was empty except for one man in the corner who looked like he'd been living on the streets and had nothing better to do. I guess they were right when they said the theater lives mostly off teenagers... Matthew pondered, remembering that school was still in session.

"Where do you want to sit?" He asked Leane as they walked through the aisles of the small theater.

Leane smiled as she led him to the center of the theater, "This is were Jo, Jen, and I always sit, they're the best seats because you can see everything, not to mention anyone who sits in front of you won't be in your way because they're on the lower level." Sitting down Leane put her drink in the cup holder and her purse on the floor off to the side of her feet before sliding down into the seat and resting the soles of her shoes on the edge of the seat in front of her, careful not to spill her popcorn; completely comfortable in the squeaky seat.

Matthew smiled as Leane got comfortable, putting an arm around her shoulders as he settle back into the seat and watched the previews scroll across the screen. "Good timing." He said quietly as the previews finished.

The movie started in a dark alley, pretty typical for a scary movie. Matthew smiled as a young girl ran towards the barren street, yelling for help to no avail with a serial killer following close behind her.

"Okay, seriously? How can someone not hear that dreadful noise she's making? And how can the killer not get seriously annoyed with it and just go off and find someone less eardrum-shattering? And how can she be running in those shoes?" Leane whispered between bites of popcorn, already getting into the movie, even if she did hate Horror. It was a curse with Leane really. The poor girl was just like her father, analyzing everything and always trying to figure out just how the people were thinking when they did such stupid things. Like now, for instance. "The girl's running in heels while the guy is walking. He obviously knows she's going to - Yep, down she goes. And oh look, now he's going to kill her. And do they really have to use such gore and show close ups? Tell me when it's over.." Leane whispered into Matt's neck as she turned away from the screen with her eyes closed, the half-full popcorn momentarily forgotten as it leaned loosely in her hand against Matt's thigh.

Matthew stifled a laugh as Leane ducked her face against his neck. After the killer finished his very violent, very graphic kill, Matthew turned to Leane. "Its over, love." He whispered softly. "You can look now." He smiled as the screen flashed to a police station where all of the police mused over the girl's death.
