@Izumi - The manga went up to chapter 232 plus an epilogue. xxxHolic is currently on chapter 190. The movie is set during the anime, but it's an independent story, so there aren't any spoilers in it. It's just like the anime, though - both funny and a bit creepy at the same time.
@connielass - oh Yuuko's definitely one of the good guys. She also loves to eat and drink and drive her "part-time employee" Watanuki crazy with her constant requests for more food and more sake. She always wears these beautiful kimono and there's always a wreath of mist or smoke around her. She manages to be very mysterious and very earthy at the same time. A great character, really.

I found the manga here.
Managed to finish up to Chapter 15 before I had to get to bed.
I'll try to read more after work today.

Ohhhh Connie!! Thank you so much for that link! I'll have to check it out. It's a shame at times like this there's only one computer in the family as I'd love to sit and read those on internet form. It takes the library forever to get it in, and I would love to finish Tsubasa.

Awe I see something about Escaflowne
Personally, I like the movie a lot better than the whole series, the art was better and the story line was easier for me to follow, not that the series was bad, i've seen the whole thing, would watch it right now if my friend in highschool didn't steal it -3-

onemanga is great, isn't it? it's kind of cool to read the manga before the anime comes out, like with 07-Ghost and Umineko this summer and Tagami Bachi this Fall. You know, as an old fart, I still remember having to buy fansubbed video tapes of anime by snail mail. Anyone here old enough to remember that? *embarrassed*

No, i never really got into anime til a few years ago really, i mean i'm sure I was around then and all but it wasn't something i'd been introduced to yet, I lived in the metaphorical sense, a bubble.

I never bought anything when I was in highschool, Miri. It was after I graduated and had a job, and at that point we had a dvd player. I did have a copy of "Please Save My Earth" OVA that I bought. I think that was the very first anime I bought, and it was on recommendation of a Japanese exchange student. She said she loved the manga series. The anime, she said wasn't as deep, and I would absolutely love to get ahold of an online copy of it as the whole series had a set up that looked very very interesting, but the couple of episodes on the OVA just couldn't do it justice. I looked on onemanga, and unfortunately it's probably so old and obsolete that it's not on there. I might have to do some searching but I want to eventually read that.
Shaddowkitty - I'm surprised you prefer the movie over the actual series. Once again, trying to cram that amount of depth into a movie was just not feasible. They did some tweaking, like Sora wasn't a part of the original series. I think it was missing something though, and I always to this day recommend watching the series first and then the movie second. Also, Dilandau's character didn't get nearly enough attention. That was one of those plot twists that was like oh my god, no wonder he's so messed up. I still think to this day I have not found a character that has come close to matching his sheer evilness.
You know thinking of it, I borrowed Escaflowne from a Highschool friend and gave it to another to make copies of the tapes for me. I then lent them to a previous boyfriend who never gave them back. I got the better end of the deal as he sent me his copy of chrono trigger on SNES, which I ended up pawning in the end as I had lost touch with him and honestly never found out what happened to him. I do wonder...

Ohh I think I've seen that and was intrigued. It's DearS? Right? I might have to see if onemanga has it and add that to my list. From what I remember it's a lot like Chobits. I loved Chobits.

@Izumi: How did you know my nickname was Miri? You must have supernatural powers or something. *grins* What is Dears about? Is it by CLAMP? I love their stuff.

Try looking around at all the retail places near you. As busy as the holiday season gets, they're probably still hiring. I know both of my jobs are still doing seasonal hires.
Never hurts to try, right?

Shadowkitty: I can so relate. I worked fast food for four years, so I know what you're going through. I hope you find a better situation, even if it has to be retail!
Hey look! I have shorts now! *snrk* I feel so bare around you well-dressed women. ^_~

Evening guys!! Popping back in for a little bit. Did I miss anything interesting tonight?
I'm curious what the last EI is going to be. Debating on staying up tonight to see it or not.

Ugh. I just typed a huge reply and lost it somehow as my browser went back. I think it has something to do with facebook and everytime I get a private message my cursor jumps. That's what I get for multi-tasking. :P
Hubby says come to bed, but he's got PSP in hands and watching the world series so it's not going to be a cuddle session, and I'm not tired. I slept from 6-9:30 tonight as it stands.

Izumi, I want your boots. Now. Hee. And at the risk of looking like the clueless lad I am, what is EI?
Also, I think I saw a few of you when I was browsing the GSA thread. I've been lurking, looking for a spot to jump in. Seems a fun bunch.
Connielass (I think): Aren't the Mokona's great? They're always in the mood for a party (although I think black Mokona is a little more of a partier and white Mokona is more serious at times.) I have a white Mokona plushie. *sheepish*
