..to make you grateful to not having an early morning concussion.
Or, rather, a concussion at all.

Quote:
"Discuss concussions in your life, and how they've affected you. Would you say that you personally found the pain, the drowsiness, the nausea, or the blurry thoughts the most significantly bothersome effect? Wouldn't a concussion/migrane combo just be absolutely abysmal? What was the most dramatic accident you've gotten into, by falling off or running into something? Can you imagine a modern art movement involving people denting their heads? It could be considered similar to the people that do flesh art. Isn't "concuss" a delightful word? Were you aware that "concussed" is a valid derivative of the root word? Isn't that an amazing word? Listen to this phrase: "Darkeyes totally just concussed himself today." Doesn't that have an appealing ring to it? Well..the word, not..you know..me hurting myself. That's just sick, why would you think that? Have any of you ever thrown up from a concussion?"
&etc.
Quote:
Actually, here's a serious point:
Has anyone else who has been concussed had their ear ache as a side effect? I hit myself on the top of my head, but the entire left side of my head aches, from temple to jaw, with my ear having a strange drawn (pulling sensation) feel to it. Well, at least the other stuff has mostly faded by now.

I've never had a concussion, myself. I remember in fifth grade, this guy Ian got one in gym class. Hockey. It's funny, the other thing I remember about him was that he was Orsino in our class's Twelfth Night.

Hmm.. There's really no discussion here, so unless you add something for everyone to discuss, I'll have to lock this thread up. It is General Discussion after all.

Thanks Darkeyes! :D

There is always plenty to discuss, but I fully support your point- I was hoping for a few good stories, like Heiyuu's, to distract me, I suppose, but I really didn't provide much of a prompt.

Actually, here's a serious point:

I've gone ahead and added your discussion points to your first post. ;)

...

I vaguely remember around the time I was in junior high me accidentally banging my head against my bedroom wall and blacking out for half an hour. Aside from the soreness, there were no lingering affects and I never really said anything about it. In fact, all these years later I question if maybe I just didn't fall asleep.

I am a calamity, I have hit my head quite a few times and luckily have never had a concussion though. The last time I fell down the stairs, hitting my head on the wall when I got to the bottom step....it hurt....a lot. I was holding my laptop, so all I thought about on the way down was, "Please don't break!"

Haha- yeah, I'd have the same thought if I was falling with my laptop, as well.
At this point, I think I'm hitting my head about twice a week, and I know that's about accurate for when I was a kid, as well. So yeah, I'm not too good with the evading head trauma.
