Ever been on TV?
If so, how did you feel when you saw yourself? In today's age of Internet, is this even that much of an impact on people?
If not, how do you think you would react?
Discuss, and let's compare notes!

Lol, yes, I've been on TV. xD I was on one of those kid game shows with my girl scout troop. >.< I personally thought I looked like a complete idiot. And I was so mad 'cause they didn't show the 2nd event that I was in, just the first one (which I lost.) >.< Overall, I thought it was really cool, 'cause I was a kid and was watching my self on TV Saturday morning. xD Otherwise I did this modeling thing when I was ten or something, but it was small and I never saw the ads myself.
I think being on TV is still a big deal, depending what it is. If I saw someone I know in a TV show, like I do know some people in The Office and such, I'd get super excited! I saw my math teacher on a commercial for a local car dealership and get all hyped about it. xD Even with technology being so large and STILL expanding, it's still a big deal to be on TV. Now, those MTV shows and such are different, though they can still be exciting, I guess.
Anyways, I'm gonna shut up now, because I've been rambling. =)
Have you ever been on TV? =o

Just today, yes. It was definitely not what I thought it would be, ha ha!
And well, I always thought if I ever made it onto a TV screen, it would be because I somehow made it big or something.
(Or like you, on some sort of Gameshow, which BTW, that is cool lemme tell ya!)
Far from. I am a working joe. And my appearance had nothing to do with ME, really, ha ha. I had to dub my own voice for a spanish speaking audience, too (It appeared on Telemundo)

Telemundo? I haven't checked that channel since quite some time ago *lives in Latin America*
I don't think I count really, but I used to play the flute in a choir and we appeared on TV playing some christmas song I don't remember anymore xD I was so behind everyone, I think I was both behind the rows and the bush xP I was so ugly back then I didn't mind 8D
If it were the hypothetical case that I appeared on something that isn't a gameshow or a cultural event, say the News or in a commercial, I wouldn't react unless someone started teasing me >o>

This is less of a Life Issue than a topic suited for General Discussion, so I'm going to move it on over there. :D Life Issues is really more suited for people looking to get advice about problems in their lives.

I've been on local TV many times, and just last summer I actually had a job working as an extra on a show that was filmed over here. Nothing special...and it never did feel like a big deal. Just...you know. Cool stuff. |D Though it did amuse me that I worked, lumping all my work days together, a total of two weeks as an extra, and made the same kind of money that I made in six months as a grocery bagger. XD
Now, the first TV interview with the band, THAT'S gonna be a big deal. XD Nervous just thinking about it and we're not even together enough to have anything set up. Especially since I probably get to do most of the talking and it's probably gonna be in my third language. |D;;;;;

The only TV I have been on was a handful of times where I was oddly enough interviewed outside my school. Back in the day when I was actually IN High School (I'm 25 now)
Personally I cannot stand to see myself or even hear myself on TV or a recording of any kind. I just feel kinda awkward about watching myself because I start to pick at all the little things I did wrong or how I sound, look...yeah its just a downward spiral for me. I have tried to get over it but I really just cannot, which totally put a down side on me wanting to go into acting as a kid.

I ended up getting on the news, for a few seconds. They were talking about the Portland Seadog's winning the world's series of their league and one of their home run balls went over to where my parents and I were sitting. You could see my mom and I duck out of the way and my father jump up to go grab the ball after it landed on the ground behind us.
xD I laughed at how silly I looked and then went back to what I was doing.

I saw myself on tv once. All I could think was how can I possibly hide myself from the camera because I look fat. It was a stupid tv class. I hate those things....

Once but I was five and a girl scout. It was for our town parade, which I didn't even know they recorded. One day I was watching TV with my folks and on screen I popped up with my little friends. Being five, my reaction was "OMGGGGGG LOOKIE I'M ON THE TVVVV."

I've been on the news twice, and was on a local kiddie show no one's heard of once. The first time I was on the news, it was part of a summer art class I was taking. I just stood against a wall holding up one of the pictures I did along with everyone else.
The second time, my drama group performed a song from an upcoming musical we were about to do. I didn't get much air time, but it was a fun experience.

That's when you shoot the camera, or toss it in the water or what have you. (Just kidding. I don't believe in destruction of property.)

I was in Japanese bakery commercials when I was little. Personally, I hated it. I disliked going on to the set, since I would rather play with my barbie dolls.
Now, I plan on going into the film industry, so I act and direct short films for classes. I see myself a lot on film, and I think I'm a dope. >_<;;

I've never been on television for anything more than a brief moment on the news. I don't put myself up on youtube, and I don't go out trying to get myself into videos.
I don't suppose I would mind it, but I don't go looking for it, either.
