Hogarth looked over his shoulder at Shin. "You mean like Season for planting crops?" Hogarth said, looking at Kai. "And these jobs? what of them, they are Knights? Or they Merchants? Vendors? Paladin?" He asked, looking around. He had no clue he was out of his time, all he knew was he ran into Nick, and he was here.

"kind of" she sighed laying on her back, stretching out hopeing for the sun to set since sleep was attempting to take her, her eyes fluttered closed while she waited for shin to field that question, she hadnt the slightest clue of how to answer it or even begin to.

Hogarth gently laughed, Kai had attached to him, tucking his knee under her head as a pillow so she wasn't so uncomfortable, gently stroking her head, as the sun slowly began to set there was nothing lighting the forest but the camp fire. Hogarth looked around at everyone, his hands sliding through Kai's hair gently. Looking up into the camp fire the flames bounced off his face, he would stay up through the night and fall asleep once morning came, he never trusted the dark, always finding it hard to sleep when night came all he had to comfort him was the dim sounds of crickets chirping their small songs in the back ground. He slowly slid his blade out, looking down at Kai, he played a soothing song rubbing his finger against the edge of the blade, closing his eyes, making the song a soothing lullaby.

Shin thought about it for a moment before trying to explain. "It's a bit like... having the whole world operate like merchants. Say, if I asked you to do something for me, and I would give you a favor. I would give you... say a piece of bark with a symbol on it that you could give to any dryad for that favor. Those tokens are called money, and they can be accumulated to trade for things of higher value. Jobs are the things you do that earn you money."

kai was out in a matter of seconds, she pulled herself closer to him, curling around him in an awkward way, she twitched a few times while sleeping, she was obviously having dreams about running, being chased by something or someone. Her brows knitted together, while tears streamed freely down her face "no..." she cried "no.." she panted "please..." it eas clearly a nightmare.

Hogarth looked at Shin with closed eyes, trying to focus on the lullaby's tune, but at the same time tried to talk. "I know of currency and jobs, but where I come from there are farmers peasants merchants knights. I guess I'm asking what kinda jobs are out there?" He asked, keeping the blade in perfect tune for the lullaby. his other hand slid from the hilt of the blade to Kai's dimples pressing gently he could see very little of her dream, doing this the song stopped almost taking a lot of his mind to capture the dream. He slowly started sliding his finger in a counter clockwise motion on his blade, watching as her nightmare started to rewind, he pushed his other finger to his blade, catching the dream and slowly sliding it from her mind and into his, and replacing her bad dream with a good dream of her running in a meadow. "I would do this for my sister." He said to Shin, unknowing if she was listening. "She'd get the worst kinda dreams." he continued, slowly starting his lullaby song back up by sliding his fingers around the edge of his blade. watching her nightmare his eyelids acting like a movie screen.

Shin nodded. "As the population grew, the jobs got more and more complex." She murmured "More and more specialized, technology advanced to be unrecognisable. You're probably better off well out of it."

Hogarth gently nodded his head, trying to keep his song going for Kai, so she could have a peaceful sleep. Finding it hard to make out what was going on in this dream he took from her. He could only see her feet running, and she kept looking back. "What is she running from?" Hogarth questioned a dark figure was all he could make out from it. "Her master maybe?" he asked, his blue eyes opened, looking around the forest before closing them.

Shin shrugged "In all likelyhood. I wouldn't ask, just... keep doing whatever you're doing."

kai opened her eyes screaming for what felt to be hours which in reality was only about three seconds before her hand clamped over her mouth, she shook her head and stood to her feet pacing back and forth

"so.. what did i miss?" she asked in a shakey voice

Shin shrugged "Not much. You didn't sleep for that long. You had quite the nightmare there, how do you feel? You ok?"

"i.. i dont know" she said in a panicked voice "i.. i just.. i dont know he's not coming is he?" she asked feeling the earth making sure that her dream wouldnt become a prophetic nightmare, that she would remain free

Hogarth's fingers slipped on his blade, the millions of souls inside of it screaming for mercy her scream baffled him, and he wondered what he did, he had removed her nightmare, and replaced it with a good dream successfully why was she screaming like a bat out of hell? his eyes flustered, not comforting his blade in time his eyes glowed purple blue red brown he started wiggling on the floor, in pain, tears rolling down his face, hes never felt anything like this, like millions of voices trying to be set free from his mind, everyone hes ever killed, his eyes continued to change back and forth of those three colors. His body becoming uncontrollable he started to kick the dirt trying to stand, his hands holding his head as the blade continued to scream. He wanted it to stop, he held out his hand to Shin for comfort, droll sliding from his mouth. "Shin, Kai..Anyone!" He shouted.

kai jumped for the blade sliding her fingers over it as he had, this time the screams stopped, she began to sing a soothing tune which would eventually put both her and the sword to sleep, she looked up at him with concern lacing her eyes "how do you feel?" she asked with a certain tone that would soften even the hardest of men.

Hogarth looked at Kai, his eyes fading with life. He passed out, her voice sounding deep, his lips moved as he tried to say something. his hands falling from his head, they stretched out as his whole body relaxed, He knew it was only a matter of time before the sword would reject her, thinking he said to drop it quickly, he passed out.

Shin was instantly at his side, arms around him, attempting to pin him in place and keep him from hurting himself. "Get the sword!" she yelped as Kai snatched it away practically as fast as she could speak. "Shhh shh shh... All's well. All's well." she murmured, setting up a harmony to Kai.

when the blade rejected her she flew back several feet rolled two times and remained still for about five minutes before standing on her feet, panting heavily she looked herself over noteing that her fingers were bleeding and hands stung tremendously "ow..." she mumbled slowly walking back, she grabbed the sword and placed it next to hogarth's side, she let out a soft cry when looking down at him "will.. he be okay?"

Shin looked up at her, still humming, and shrugged "I suppose. You disarmed him pretty quickly, but magic is not my forte."

Hogarth looked over his shoulder, seeing a bright form, his eyes winced at the light, looking to see a the brightness sort of fading, and seeing his blade in her hands he slowly took it from her, looking up, it was impossible to tell her features. but for some reason this woman brought a warm feeling to him, he smiled gently at her, what quickly turned into a disgust face, he felt the warmth on his face, almost like he wasn't dreaming, his hand touched his face, seeing blood on his finger tips he heard the girl scream, looking behind him he saw his father. "Thats good my son, she didn't deserve to be your mother." His father said. "You've earned that enchanted blade now kiddo." the shadowy figure of his father said, gently kneeling down. to stroke the little boy's head. "And now you will be the greatest, and most feared fighter Hargotten has ever seen." Hogarth's father said, patting him on the shoulder, Hogarth looked at the woman laying on the floor. "Mother?" he said gently sleep talking.

she nodded then looked down at her bloodied hand with wide eyes then shrugged, sat down next to him and lightly stroked his forehead, moving her hand through his hair like he'd done for her. hopeing he'd wake totally fine without harm done. Kai blinked pressing her hand gently to his forehead hopeing to get a glimpse of what he was seeing, and she did. Tears streamed down her face while he dreamed "that man.. if i could travel back in time.. she growled i'd kill him.. how could he train a child to kill at that young of an age...?"

Hogarth's hand gripped his sword, the hand against his head, he could feel it, stoking gently, he didn't know what was going on. His blade barely touched her chin, feeling her hand stop, he opened his eyes to see who it was. Seeing it was Kai, he let out a deep breath, looking around, then up at Kai, his left eye a dark red color while his right eye was a blue color, he blinked, looking up at her.

she gasped looking down at him with a concerned expression "are.. you alright?" her hand moved again lightly strokeing his head with such care it had to be of someone who was genuinely concerned.

Shin reached over to gently encircle Hogarth's wrist and tug downward. "Shh shh shh. It's alright. We're all friends here." She had not seen Hogarth's dream, and knew very little of the complicated interplay between him and Kai as it was done mostly without words, but she had picked up on Hogarth's twisted family relations, though she wasn't exactly sure what this latest one was, she realized he had to be treated with care.

He sat up slowly, shaking his head, he blinked, unable to see out of his right eye, he rubbed it furiously, confused on what was wrong. "I cant see out of my right eye." Hogarth said, turning to Kai and shin, rolling his eyes in a circle, he wasn't in pain he was annoyed by the fact he couldn't see out of his right eye.

"this cant be good" she mused staring at him with a genuine concern "i.. i.. has this ever happened before?"
