I do not own Harry Potter, I just came up with this little plot and had to write it down. :)
Lessons In Kissing
"Congratulations!" Ron received a hard pat on his back that pushed him forward but he stood back up straightening out his robe as his twin brothers swooped in on him. "See you finally landed that diploma." One red headed, freckled twin grinned at him.
"Now how about the girl?" Said the other as they both crossed their arms over their chests.
It was graduation day at Hogwarts and the ceremony had just ended. The 'girl' in question had been named top of her classes and had received the most newts in twenty years. ...and was currently walking towards the three brothers through the crowd of family and friends gathered around.
"Nah." Ron frowned, "I don't get it. She was all upset when I was all over Lavender but now that I'm with her she won’t do anything with me. She's a bloody prude I'm telling you! Hardly lets me kiss 'er." Ron sniffed as if he had just been greatly offended and completely missed the shocked gasp from behind him.
Hermione had been in just the right spot that the twins had not seen her either and she slowly turned and walked back the way she had come, trying desperately to control her anger right now. 'Hardly lets me kiss 'er' She mocked in her head as she pushed by people, ignoring their indignant protests. 'Well if he calls those kisses then I'm the Queen of England.' She continued to herself, letting the last bit slip past her lips unintentionally. "Disgusting!"
"What is?" Hermione's head snapped up and she came face to face with the boy-who-lived. Her frown deepened. "Are you all right there, 'Mione?" He asked as he raised a concerned hand to her shoulder.
"Just spiffing, Harry." She yanked her shoulder away from him. "Did you know this whole time?" She saw his confused look and huffed as she rolled her eyes. "Don't tell me he hasn't ranted to you about my 'prudish ways' Harry. He's doing a fine job of it to his brothers right now but it hardly seems as if his pent up sexual frustration has boiled over. He must have had an outlet while still in school." She crossed her arms over her chest. "Out with it Harry!" She said as he stood there gapping at her.
Harry shifted rather nervously. "Well, yea. He did complain to me but I didn't think much of it. You just weren't ready and he was frustrated. I thought it would all blow over in time." Harry shifted his eyes from the ground, to her, and back to the ground as he shifted again. "Look, I really don't think we should fight about this right now. It's a happy day, right? We should be happy."
Happy indeed. The Dark Lord had been defeated during the summer of their sixth year and Harry had relaxed quite a bit after everything settled down. They had lost quite a few people, students as well, but this day was a cause for celebration.
Hermione’s eyes softened. "I'm sorry Harry." She sighed and drooped noticeably. "I just can't be happy right now. This thing with Ron; I feel like he's just been using me lately. It makes me feel cheap and I'm not cheap, Harry." Her eyes had hardened by the end of the sentence and Harry smiled gently at her.
"No your not, and Ron's a great prat for not seeing you but confront him about it tonight. Please?" Harry’s eyes were pleading with her and darted over to the side where he saw the Weasley family headed their way. He sighed in relief when he saw her nod. She'd wait for Harry's sake, but she was not happy about it.
Ron threw his arm over her shoulders and Harry shot her a look as she shrugged it off. "I'm not your leaning post Ronald." However, she had a look of her own that was pure venomous. Ron's eyes widened and he stepped back. Their exchange had, however, been quiet and only Harry had noticed it.
Hermione tuned out the going on’s and only caught a few phrases gushed out by Mrs. Weasley as she praised the three of them. The rest of the afternoon went by in a haze for her as she focused her thoughts inward and she didn't catch the nervous looks Ron kept shooting her.
Harry was certain they were going to get through the rest of the day without a confrontation. After all he's done; surely one day of peace wasn't too much trouble? However his hopes were dashed as he heard the unmistakable call of "Hermy-onee!" Harry let his head drop into his hands as Hermione spun around to face the new voice with a smile on her face.
"Viktor!" He had his arms opened for her and she ran into them for a hug. He gathered her to him and spun her around before setting her on her own feet again, causing quite a spectacle. Ron fumed. Harry groaned.
"I thought you said you wouldn't be able to make it? What happened?" Hermione couldn't have been happier at that point as she grinned up at him.
"Told the coach I had a family emergency and skipped out on practice." He grinned down at her wolfishly and she laughed. "I can't stay long though, but I had to come see you." Viktor's English had improved drastically from the first time he had met Hermione, and he had even taught her a few words in Bulgarian. Although he knew how to pronounce her name correctly now, he still sometimes called her 'Hermy-onee' as a joke.
"Well I don't think you should be skipping practice...." Hermione started in her best lecturing voice, but broke into a smile in the next moment. "But I'm glad you came." She sent him a dazzling smile and Viktor responded with his own.
Viktor bent down to her, one hand at the small of her back to whisper in her ear, "So am I." He softly kissed her cheek and sent a quick glare to Ron over her shoulder, who he had noticed glaring at him, before pulling back up to his full height, stuffing his hands in his pockets in a casual gesture.
Hermione smiled at him and opened her mouth to say something when she felt herself pushed to the side. She fell against Harry and watched in horror as Ron made a swing at Viktor’s jaw. "Ron!" Hermione shouted at him but didn't get a chance to say much else as Viktor caught Ron's fist in his hand, his smile turning into a frown as he glared darkly down at Ron. Viktor was not only taller standing at 6'2" compared to Ron's 5'11", but he was also quicker due to his many years playing professional quidditch. Viktor tightened his grip on Ron's fist, earning a wince before he let go. Ron stumbled back a bit but refused to make a sound from the pain in his hand.
Hermione looked wide eyed between the two before turning on Ron. "What were you thinking?! What gives you the right to attack a friend of mine?" Hermione had her hands on her hips, her eyes narrowed, and was in full bitching mode.
Ron sputtered a minute before lamely stating, "He kissed you! He was getting way too cozy. You don't even let me kiss you anymore." Ron was working into quite a tirade and kept going without even thinking, "I was beginning to think you were a prude but now I know that you’re just a tramp wanting to get to the top!"
A resounding smack sounded in the air as Hermione slapped him, seething. She gritted her teeth and told him, "Well maybe if you knew how to kiss a girl properly, instead of the sloppy tongue lapping that you call a kiss, I'd let you kiss me!" Hermione turned and grabbed Viktor and pulled his unresisting form down to her.
The kiss she gave him was heated as she held him to her by his collar. He wrapped an arm around her waist and slid a hand into her curls, gripping it as he deepened the kiss. He had never before had this chance and he wanted to prove to her, to Ron, that she belonged to him, in his arms. He kissed her for all she was worth and by the time they were done and breathing heavily even Harry had a blush on his face.
Without taking her eyes away from Viktor's, "And that is how you kiss a girl." she grabbed Viktor’s hand and led him away from her shocked friends and Ron.
