I love music from foreign countries, i.e., Japan, the UK, Australia. I'm a big fan of Indie music and I think some of the best indie comes from the UK. always find myself listening to Indie stations online that are based in the UK.

BoA is actually Korean...
I grew up listening to my dad's favourite Italian music, so I have always had a taste for foreign music. I enjoy some Japanese music, but I'm really a tremendous fan of Korean music. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the band Loveholic (currently on a sort of hiatus since lead singer Ji Sun left for a solo career :( ) I like t.A.T.u. as well, and opera (I actually prefer it when it is not in English)

What are some of your favorite bands that are not from the states or Japan? I love Lacuna Coil who are from Italy, Gabriella Cilme from Aussy and of course His Infernal Magesty AKA HIM from Finland. I heard Tokio Hotel from Germany are good. And I would have to say that Dream Theater from Germany is all right.

I've merged your thread, Lady_Megami, with our 'Music from foreign countries' thread. While admittedly it does include music from Japan, there are plenty who've listed their favorites from other countries as well. :)

The Band from Finland called Nightwish. They are an amazing band with amazing Music. They Style of Music is more a Symphonic Metal, Similar to like... sonata Arctica, and Symphony X. They have some of the coolest Music i have ever heard. and i have seen them live four times total. Their Music has foud a special place in my heart, and will no doubt stay there for a very long time. Everybody talks about "the best band in the world," and for me, Nightwish is that band, Though some people may nt agree, Thats perfectly alright. I will never forget what the Drummer, Jukka Nevalainen told me when i said i was a musician.
"Keep Going, Dont stop" I took those words to heart and have not stopped in my goal of becoming a famous drummer in an awesome band. i will never Give up. My Ultimate Goal is To open for the Mighty Nightwish one day. I hope our Music will find the ears of the entire band, and that it will touch them, and we will get the chance to meet them face-to-face once again, except this time, more on Musician Terms instead of star to fan terms.
Nightwish is deffinitely worth checking out for anyone that likes metal. And if there are any Nightwish Fans on this thread, i welcome you all to the Nightwish Fan thread that was recently Created on Menewsha!

And older songs from Tanel Padar and The Sun.

As for other countries, I like music from anywhere, really.

Most of the music I listen to is foreign, and most of that is Japanese. I also listen to Russian, German, and French music.
I don't feel like naming bands because I'll be here all day.
I really like weird music. I also love electronic stuff, especially 8bit/chiptune.

One of my favorite groups ever is Kraftwerk, who are from Germany. They're older (basically invented techno), but they're still together XD Subway to Sally is another German group I like, and I have some E Nomine, but I sorta have to be in the mood to listen to them.
I also like Tarkan, who is Turkish (though I have an English album of his, too), aaand O-zone, from Moldova. My brother listens to a ton of Scandinavian folk metal, and I like that, as well, especially when I feel like being obnoxiously loud in the car, lol. And I like a lot of Japanese music, too, but it looks like the rest of you have covered all of those for me, lol XD
I will try pretty much anything once, and I love music from all over the world. I'd like to get more music in Chinese and Korean; I will have to check out some of the groups the rest of you have mentioned! I like to listen to my iPod in the car and see how long I can go before I hear two songs in the same language.
