I was wondering if it was against the rules to advertise something in a topic, like a book I wrote or a series of videos I have on YouTube. I know I could start topics discussing games and books and stuff I like, but I don't know if advertising something I made myself is out of the question.

I didn't see anything like this in the rules and if it is there then I must be BLIND.

You can link to something if it's a non-profit item, such as...look at me and my friends goofing off over the weekend. But not to something like a book, nor any video if you're trying to promote yourself via it, we're not here to provide free advertising for people :)
