You know, times like these I really wish we had the UK's system of free health care. Despite that what you could do is a little research into where you live and whether or not there is any doctor's offices in your area that work on a sliding based fee? What they will do is take into consideration the type of insurance and the amount of money you make and reduce the costs to make it more affordable. Also, the local Meijer here will prescribe most antibiotics free of charge, so perhaps the Rx the doctor would give you to clear it up will be free or fairly inexpensive. Not all drugs are extremely overpriced...well unless you're getting name brand stuff.
Also, if you're insured and the doctor is on the list of qualifying doctors they will bill you and you can pay at a later date or in installments. Trying to blame the economy or being low income isn't a very good excuse to let your health decline. Saying that, I'm somewhat of a hypocrite as I waited a year to get a followup test done for abnormal cells. That's because I went from no insurance to a fairly decent insurance company, and lab tests are expensive. Chances are what you have is a UTI, though and they'll just put you straight on antibiotics if that's the case.
