I know that my art is a looong way from flawless, but I'd still like some critique. I can take pretty much anything, as long as you don't say like "I hate it, it's ugly" :P
So yeah tell me what needs to be improved and stuff like that, pwease! ^^

This is some gaia avvie art I made a couple of weeks ago:
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73...SariwaGrey.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73...rWeirdPink.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73...ariwaPink2.jpg

Other art of animals (with simple backgrounds):
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73...Art/Omegas.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73...Art/horses.jpg

The avvie art takes me like 3 hours or something, and the animals took me at least 5 hours, probably more.. I don't really remember ^^
And I draw on a paper by hand first, then I use Photoshop CS3... No tablet

I like the one of Spirit the best. :]
As far as what you need to work on, i'd saw anatomy.
The bodies look a little flat and straight, if you get what I mean.
Your hands need work to, although im not gonna bash you on them, since I hide mine more than half the time and suck at anything to do with them.
Other than that I think your off to a good start.
I like your coloring.

Thanks!
Yeah, I know what you mean.. I should really study anathomy... And probably draw different angles and poses of the body and so on ^^
And I hate drawing hands too, I just force myself to draw them in most pics, since I really need the practice :P

Yeah, prespective could help also. I suck at that...I need to practice it a little more.
I want to draw hands its just that I cant think of any decent pose's to fit the character. DX

Firstly, I have to say how you color is wonderful! You do a fantastic job with shading elements. Also, even if they are simple, the backgrounds look great! Also, you are very good with animal anatomy (the two animal pictures are my favorites, especially Spirit).
Now on to the critique and tips;
You seem to have a lot difficultly with human anatomy and I know that is not an easy thing, but I'm sorry to say but the three people look a little disoriented. You should practice by looking at anatomy, especially the head, face, and hands. Might I also recommend using a skeletal system if you are not using one already. It'll help you get better proportions (and it will also help you with the face). You should also watch out for the form on your characters when their skin is exposing and their clothes.
The greatest example is the third picture, her anatomy looks really flat it's probably either that the anatomy is a little wacky or the fact that it needs more shades (or maybe even both).
I'm also a little bothered of how flat the girls' hair are. Maybe you should try doing individual strands of hair instead of just doing a large chunk of it without any strands at all. Also watch out for the forms of objects. A good example is the first picture, her headphones are lop sided and also a little 2D.
Hopefully some of this may help you.... I hope. ^^;

I know a few people have mentioned this to you already, but you definitely need to work on your anatomy; both human and animal. I think your animal anatomy is much better than your human anatomy, so you might want to branch out on that, and get better at that first.
To get better at human anatomy, just simply keep practicing. I don't know how often you draw, or how old you are, but definitely try getting some book, or try doing some life drawing to help you out. =)

You lines are a little wobbly and such, but I don't blame you since you're using a mouse. HOWEVER, I've been using a mouse up until a week ago when I finally got a tablet for my stuff. You should try looking up tutorials on how to use pentool, it takes a lot of effort but the lines you get from it are soo nice and smooth~ <3
Overall, just brush up on anatomy, though I'm sure you're probably sick of hearing that word now. xD Hands and feets are generally the most difficult for everyone. Also, I'd like to see some more life in your art. The gaia characters you draw don't seem to have any feeling at all. (Not trying to be insulting) I'd like to see them pouting, or smiling, or angry, or~ yeah... you get my point~ xD Expressions~ <-- !
You seem to draw animals a lot better than humans though. I sure as hell can't draw animals too well so I can't critique you on any of your animal ones~ xD

Keep working hard at it! <3

its ugly, i hate it...JK! ^-^ its actually really good, i dont have any photoshop stuff to play with my art so i end up just drawing it completely. im a newbie and i wanted to post my art here, though i saw a list of rules about quotes and stuff, they confused me because i was jamming my head with so many rules, but now that i read this thread i feel relieved. i will be posting my art very soon on here, most of it is already on gaia and photobucket.

Woah, thanks for all the critique! I really appreciate it! ^^
Firstly, I think I'm gonna look up some tutorials on human anatomy on DeviantArt. That's what I did when I drew that lion-ish thing... Then I'm gonna practice, practice! :D
Also, I'm not using a skeletal system, so I'm gonna check that out!
And some expression tutorials and hair tutorials... And pen tool tutorials... I already know ABOUT how to use it, but I usually and up with weird lines and that sorta stuff :P

And about a shop... Maaaaayyyybeeeee.... I was gonna open one at gaia, but I just got lazy and didn't open one after all... But maybe here... someday, when my anatomy is a bit better :3

Ahh, I see. Well a skeletal system, if you don't know what it is, is basically like a blue print of your picture. You use simple shapes and lines to "formulate" the person or animal of which you will draw out. Kind of looks like this http://i.ehow.com/images/GlobalPhoto...77101_Full.jpg.
It'll improve you so much better when you use this, it really helps out with how you draw your hands and faces. Believe me, it helped me out a lot.

Ah, yes, now I know what it is! (just didn't know what it was called in english) Tried it a few times, but I couldn't quite get the hang of it... but I'll try again ^^

Maka-chan: Aww, you just need practice... And most important is of course to make it fun, you'll learn more then ^^

My suggestion is to go to a field with horses in it, and sit and sketch. Just watch how their muscles move beneath the skin (try to get a relatively close spot). If you live in a city, try a kennel, or a pet shop. Short-haired animals work best. It helps you develop a sense of how the muscles all fit together, in a way that looking at an anatomical picture won't. And keep up the good work!

I like the second avi very much ^^
What you can work on is making the necks a little more thin and legs and arms a little longer
And then add more action into your pictures, maybe you can start looking at action (maybe fighting-) scenes in manga or cartoons or whatever you want to draw, and try to draw them.
Probably sounds kinda hard, but it's all that worth ^^

For the avvi art, work on your arms and hands. The hands seem to often be too small, and the fingers a little too straight. Overall pretty good.

Your art of the animals was very nice, though. Keep it up^^

i like the horse pic, but you could use alot of practice. dont worry, gotta start somewhere, get get somewhere else too!^-^ i dont know what program people use to make all the funky art they make like the ones you have there. i notice the coloring doesnt show any real texture, which i like. i just dont know how to do it. its odd cas i have never really asked people these questions untill today, i have been holding them in for almost a year now, and i dont know why...
