My dad doesn't give me many life stories. He's 70 years old so the most I ever get is," When I was a boy, I ate what my parent's ate or didn't eat at all, I would have been paddled for that," and things like that.
He does, however, try to pass his interests onto me when he knows I could care less. xP
For example, he sits in the living room all day because he's a trucker so when he's home he has nothing to do. Once a day I get called in there and I sit there for 30 minutes listening to him talk about how cool whatever we're watching is, and how I would go about doing it. If I even dare say, " This isn't that interesting," he storms off and rants to my mom about how rude and disrespectful I am.

My dad once tried to convince me, he's a fan of that by the way... trying, anyhow, he tried to convince me that he was once in a band and was the drummer. He was doing a solo, broke his drum stick and it stabbed a person in the audience in the heart...

ultimately killing him.

terrible story but it was SO funny to listen to!

My dad LOVES to tell stories about when he was a kid.
His favorite one to tell goes like this:
When he was about thirteen, he was up really late, working on his bike in the garage. His big brother, Floren, saw him and grabbed a screwdriver. Floren tapped on the window with the screwdriver once and my dad jumped, just looking around. He went back to working on the bike and Floren tapped on the window again, but he accidentally broke the window. My dad almost had a stroke and their dad came running, looking like he was going to kill someone, yelling in Spanish. Then Floren came out and confessed what he did, but Dad still got in trouble for screaming like a girl when the window broke.

It's funnier when he tells it because he makes all these funny faces.

Haha, I know how you feel.

When I was younger, I lived quite a distance from my school, and I'd NEVER get a ride, unless there was a blizzard or a storm, or if I had to go to the dentist before school. I had to walk/bike in the summer and ski to get there in the winter. I think that's pretty awesome.

But my father, he lived even further away from his school when he was a kid, and that was his excuse for making us kids bike/walk/ski to school. He had to do it when he was a kid, and he had to bike/walk/ski for a lot longer distance. So that's what we had to do, too.

Other then that, he's been pretty good at teaching us all the tricks and stuff we need to know for every day life. If your father says those things to you, you could simply ask him who taught him? And if he says his dad, then you can tell him that if he thinks you don't know the tricks, then he's entirely to blame because he failed to teach you.

Lol I swear I've heard this same story from my dad!
Another story my dad tells is how when he was young
He would ride a dinosaur to school
(I'm assuming this was when he wasn't walking barefoot through the snow)
Or when he's not in a Jurassic mood he would say he rode a horse and buggy.
The funny thing is he lived next door to his school. XD
