Might English be third language? XD How you define which is mother tongue? First language?
Which we learn first? Which we are fluent? which we use more?

64 but I have another 15 on another account I abandoned. xD
As a suggestions, anything before Kagau was published is unbetaed, nothing has feels like a good story until Amadare, but Shards of a Mirror my most current is the best reflection of my writing since in my opinion.

But most of my stories are incomplete.... lose interest or have new interest in the middle of writting.

Aww thanks. :3
Hmm slightly? I mean it's fanfiction, unless you're writing the cannon and you're good at it, your interpretation will cause each characters to be a little OOC. It gets worse when you involve pairings, because then it's like, do they change when they are in love? sort of thing. I like to try and keep them in character but yeah... o.o It depends on the reader?

Here's my description that I included with my entry. XD
Quote:
|
I am the Goddess of Chaos. Society discriminates against my disciples, calling them schizophrenic, manic depressive, mentally ill. They lock them up in asylums, keeping them out of the ordered life that they hold so dear. It's funny, really, how humans worship Order, when it's Chaos that allows them to live, Chaos that allows them to love, and Chaos that allows them to move on when Order has betrayed them. It is because of Order that all creatures die and because of Order that all societies decay, but Chaos is always ready to create things anew. And yet when they've drained Chaos of everything they can get, they always return to Order.

xuxu; i was born in america, but my parents didn't speak english. so they taught me chinese for the first 4-5 years of my life. THEN, i went to school, they stuck me in a English as a Second Language class, because i couldn't speak english.
I still consider english my second language, even if I speak it better than chinese. :O i think of it as point blank, i learned chinese first, then english, then a bit of japanese, and then french. i understand in this order though, english, chinese, french, and japanese. xD
seitoto; that's true. xD though i think you're right on that all characters are pretty OOC when writing fanfiction.

EXACTLY! I used to go to this one RP site until they started pulling that crud on me! Um, it's MY character, I made them up, trust me, if anybody knows how to play this character, it's ME!! ... :ninja: ... not that I'm bitter
xuvrette: well, I'd think the first language you speak is your first language. I mean, if you grew up with one language but are much more fluent in another ... the one you spoke the best first ... or ... um ... I think I should look this up.
EDIT:
Quote:
|
A first language is the language a human being learns from birth. A person's first language is a basis for sociolinguistic identity

Yeah it's rare to a find a writer that can get into character's head that well.
I give a little leeway. Basically like, if the character is generally happy, and you make them seem generally happy, then I'm okay with it. If you make the happy character sad and emo and depressed without a good reason why (abuse/family problems/it's all an act/multiple personality disorder) and don't bother to explaining in a good logical way, then I don't like it.
xD I see fanfiction as a trial by error way of writing. To try an idea by using premade characters so that you don't have to try and make your own believable ones (since that can be hard). It's like playing pretend with barbie dolls instead of making your own doll. xD

seitoto; that's a good way to do it!! :) and yes, it's much easier than creating your own personalities, histories, and the complex social problems characters have in a storyline that is already created. XD It's much easier i think to write that then create your own storyline because you can jump right in!
and i think that no matter what the character is like, they always have a sad/serious side to them, even if they never show it. x3 :: dreams ::

there are just a lot of stupid people out there. I mean like something shocking would happen and my character wouldn't react for whatever reason and the other person would get all mad because my character should have acted surprised and done something stupid. if she was that kind of person, then I would have wrote her to react in a different manner. people ARE stupid.
were you talking about playing a character like from a story or tv or something already made up and established.

But I write both English and chinese down on paper. I found writing the traditional way is more fun then typing.

Yup. xD I mean that's why I like writing fanfics so much. Good practice in my eyes. :P
Yesh. Everyone does. xD No one only shows one emotions, but it's a big difference to go from happy happy happy all time to go depressed emo all the time. xD

when i write stories like that, i put the characters like that in their head only. LOL and they're always one shot. Haha! if i made them like that all the time for a LONG story then MOST DEF it would be OOC. XD which never happens. i prefer one-shots. >3 but it peeved me that someone said that about a oneshot! XD
crazy; i was talking about my fanfiction one shot story. so not my created character, but from a story. and someone said that to me about it being "wrong." but the characterization of her mind was kinda opposite from how she acted in her HEAD ONLY. not like she went around everywhere acting like that. LOL and it was a one shot. <__<;; so yeah.
xuxu; oh i see. :D you can get beta readers like seitoto!! :3
and me too. xD i'm so picky as well about reading fanfics. ;-;

Eh, I'm ten times more picky about originals then I am about fanfics. I already like the characters so I only have to like the storyline.
Plus fanfics are easily to get a hold of and are free. xD

I wrote fanfiction when I was in high school, and I think it was a great way of to get started writing full stories and getting a good understanding of plot, but I do agree that it should be a stepping stone on your way to writing your own original works.
Man, I just wrote a really long letter to my cousin's wife (who I talk to more than my cousin, oddly) and I ended it by saying, "Say hi to [name of my cousin] for me."
And then I realized that I didn't know how to spell my cousin's name. How horrible is that?
Should I just take it out, or should I make a guess?
(In case you're wondering, the name is either Derek or Derick.)

I have tight rules for characters that I know. I don't want the characters to do this to do that... and they must pair with which one... so, in order not to destroy the image of the character I pick fanfics in the utmost harder rules.
As for original, ebcause I don't know the characters, which is why I am accepting most of the storylines.
