I'm studying fine art photography in London. And yeah, they can get a little stuffy during the summer, though it's usually not unbearable. The pay is alright. Not any better or worse I would be getting most other places, I reckon. Probably better than most.
I'd recommend film camera. Much prettier pictures, and if you learn how to work a film camera, it's much easier to change over to digital. Even if it is a little more expensive.

Being a librarian sounds like it would be great!
Same with being a photographer...

I really want to be an actress, a singer and a mangaka. x3

What a colourful bunch we are! :D All those dreams sound awesome. I'd love to be an actor if I had any faith in my acting skills. It sounds like really, really hard work, but very much worth it. Same with being a singer, and an illustrator of any kind, and a chef. And a photographer. xD I guess it applies to most jobs.. though I personally think art-related jobs tend to be harder, just because they're not paid very well. And they're usually quite irregular.

I have no discernible talent so I'm going to be a scientist. Woo.

Leenie, I was like that just a couple of years ago. I bet you'll find something one day that will captivate you enough that you will want to do that more than other things. Until then, just enjoy trying out everything. : )

Kat, just a sort of.. general scientist? xD

No, ljos, the crazy kind.

Nah, I'll be doing Medicinal Chemistry at university so probably something in that field. I wrote a fascinating report on the production of medicine for my Extended Project A Level so I'm sure I'll slot in somewhere. If there are any jobs at all left by the time I finish that is. -_-

@ljos- Haha, yeah. Sometimes I feel like I should consider a "practical" job, but, frankly, I'd much prefer to be a starving artist than an office drone.

@Kat- Woo, science! I suck at science. Dx

Kat, haha, awesome. Well, good luck with it! : D

Leenie, I know how it feels, trust me. But honestly, just enjoy it. I'm still interested in loads of things and most of the time, I'd rather do everything myself, but I do sometimes have to admit I just don't have the time. And that for some things, other people are more skilled so I should just let them shine instead.

Brianna, exactly. I'd rather be poor but doing something I love rather than well off, but having a job that's slowly killing me inside. I'm not the strongest person, mentally, so even working at the library, which I absolutely love, I can't work full time. So I get one day off a week. Less pay, but at least I'm not going crazy like last summer.
But with photography.. I honestly do think that at least at this point in my life, even if I was overworked but only with doing photography, I would still be able to stay sane. Just for the wonderful pictures and shoots.

@ljos- My thoughts exactly. I was talking with someone and I told them I wanted to act because it's fun, and they said I'll stop liking it once I go pro because you work so hard, and I said "No, you don't understand... the hard work is fun when I'm acting!" And sure, there are some days when I want to rip my hair out, but it's totally worth it.
I just wish it was easier to make a career out of. ;3;

I used to want to be an actor. Then I realised one day, after watching how Joey from FRIENDS struggles as an actor, "it's going to be really difficult being an actor... maybe not". Soon after I discovered my passion for baking ^_^

Oh, well that's good, then! ^_^
I live in Denver, and our on-stage performing arts scene is getting pretty big... I know a few places I could look into. I never want to perform for film. I suck at it. xD;;

Hey codex. The name is a reference to a TV series called Doctor Who. : )

Brianna, I can imagine acting on stage and in front of a camera are two very different things. Stage looks like more physical work, and you have to do the same thing so often, but it also looks more rewarding. The stage is so full of life!

..This just reminds me I haven't been to the theatre in ages. I really should go soon, if there's anything good on.

It really is! And it just feels to me like the small parts of the cast get closer with the big parts because they all don't have fancy trailers to hole themselves up in!
Also, I'm a very awkward person, so I prefer to act in front of large quantities of people over just one... and a camera feels like that one person. >.>; I NEED MAH PERFORMIN' SPACE. xD

I went to see little shop of horrors at the Lyceum in April, it was brilliant. Afterwards I watched the film... Not nearly as good. I agree, on stage is better than on camera

Life lessons from Kubichek!, they're a local band to me but I love this song (Stutter) and especially this verse:

Quote:
How many people do you hear say they've found themselves?
At our age it just, kinda happens, so don't panic
I wouldn't bother talking to poetic friends
'Cause it's more than likely they just want to get their ends away
My old school did Little Shop of Horrors and a lightbulb fell on someone. That was the highlight.

@Witty- Oh mann, I wanna see that onstage so baddd!

@Kat- That song lyric is awesome! :3
Mannn, I wanna do LSOH. Also, Sweeney Todd, but that's a bit overdone now. D:
While I've been there, my school has done Chicago and Footloose. This year, we're doing RENT. ^_^

While I was there my school did: Little Shop of Horrors, Grease, Dracula Spectacular (which got cancelled) and High School Musical.

Obviously I had a part in the one that got cancelled. XD
(one of the many Brides of Dracula, we were sort of the chorus)

Huh... the first two are really cool (although all of my friends hate Grease, so our school would never do it. xD) and the third one sounds like it would've been pretty neat. ^_^

...I choose to ignore the fourth one.

My college did Nightmare before Christmas. 8D
It was really awesome. I got to do make-up for it, it was so much fun. I wish there existed a proper recording somewhere I could get it. I know a recording was made, but I have no idea who has it or where it is or whether it's possible to get a copy.
They also did Alice in Wonderland the year before I joined, my friend was in it though, so I went to see it. It was fantastic. It had three Alices - one of them really slutty, one really innocent and one (who was male) who was really brainy. And so many wonderful characters and costumes and everything.
