Yea, it sounds fine to me. But after awhile of cloning, wouldn't it break down after so long of re-cloning?

If it was scientifically the same as an original animal, meaning the same vitamins, minerals, etc, then yes, I would eat it. I'd worry about long term side effects, because there always seems to be something that pops up about 10 years down the road. believe it or not, antibiotics and growth hormones in meat was once thought of as wonderful and great.

Assuming you get meat from the grocery store, none of the animals it comes from were even close to being healthy. XD
That growing meat is really scary... ahaha I don't eat meat, but I wouldn't let my dad buy something like that if it were ever to be released to the public, for fear of a zombie meat attack :/ Think about it... it's dead, but it's alive! Haha D:

At this point in time, no, I wouldn't eat it. I don't know that there's been enough actual cloning done, not to mention testing on the animals. There's just something about it that gives me the "ick" factor.

Well, if I couldn't tell the difference and there's no repercussions, sure. I probably wouldn't choose it over regular meat as of now. When there's been more research done on it, maybe then.

The FDA approved cloned meat last year and did not require any different labeling from regular meat. The USDA recommended that it not be sold just yet, but with the meat industry's aptitude to avoiding requests and even laws, I wouldn't be surprised if a significant amount of cloned meat has already been introduced into the market.

No, I would most definitely *not* eat cloned meat... there are no long-term, objective studies concerning the effects of such things on the human body that consumes it, or on the drawn-out effects of cloned and re-cloned, and re-cloned again animals. Of course, I don't eat meat. Nor do I eat any GM (genetically modified) foods either - because those are just nasty and are likely to be the cause of a genetic epidemic if it continues (not to mention the poisoning of ALL foodstuffs because of them)...
Soooo... ummmm... No to cloned meat.

If it has the same nutritional value and doesn't cause harm to the animals that the cells are taken from, then I'm cool with it. It's a win-win situation! Cloned veal = fewer baby cows being slaughtered for the meat.

Sure, I'd eat cloned meat. I don't eat meat often (vegetarian boyfriend...), but when I do it's in my favorite stuff. And if that included cloned meat, sure, why not?

Like many others said, if the nutritional value is the same, and they can prove that there are no repercussions, then why not?
If they can get that grown meat thing to work, then that would be a great benefit, if not a little strange to think about.

I'm talking about genetic defects or other serious issues not related to the living conditions or the way they are treated since that could happen to more than just cloned animals. From what I've heard, a lot of cloned animals have genetic defects and I'm not entirely sure if I like that.

Sure, I mean...meat is meat right? As long as it's healthy I don't see any reason that it should be different. But, we'll just have to wait and see, right?

As long as there are no wicked side affects I don't see why not..... but then again I don't really know anything about it - so i might wait a while before I try eat it.

I think i might eat cloned meat.... im pretty picky, so i'd have to ask what animal the cloned meat came from.

You know, my immediate reaction would be to have no problem with it, because it would be exactly the same as normal meat, but then I started thinking about it. The idea of a cloned animal and eating it is fine, but it would have to be very well controlled in terms of genetics. I don't mean I'd be worried about the meat that was cloned, I would be worried that humanity would get stupi and keep cloning the cloned meat until there weren't many non-cloned animals, and then the animals would only have a few seperate DNA, making it nearly impossible for them to breed normally without causing birth defects in the new animals or genetically mutate it.
Like I said, I have no ethic problems with cloning animals, humans are maybe another matter, but I think humans could take it too far and make it unable to survive without us continually cloning it.

Have you seen the documentary The Future of Food about genetically modified food? It's given me even more reason to buy locally and organically.
