What? Nobody likes them? Bah. Well, I like them. I'm not sure if I have a favorite song, but all the ones I've heard by them I like.

The band members of nirvana after Kurt died made a band called the Foo Fighters, their singer made a song about Courntey Love. You know that song where he talks about a blushing bride? Yeah, Thats the one.

Some of Nirvana's songs were good, But You should get the book Love had published with all of Kurt's journals. Reading that and I'm kicking myself for not buying it, You could tell in the end his suicide was yes, selfish, But in the end justified. If i was him I would do the same, I wouldn't want my music to be part of the commcerial world, I wouldn't want that at all... It would just mean I sold myself out to the big man.

I liked them a lot when I was like 13... now 6 years later I still like them, but there's A LOT of bands that are much better. Lake of Fire gotta be the best song by them though.

"Nobody likes them"? Nirvana is quite popular. xD Almost everyone I've met who likes rock as an appreciation for Nirvana, if nothing else.
But anyway, I don't listen to Nirvana a ton (they tend to depress me xD), but I do love them. An astute Nirvana fan may recognize my username as being from their lyrics. ^^
More than just for his musical talent, I love Kurt Cobain as a person. He seemed like a very interesting guy with a great sense of humor. It's such a tragedy that he was taken from us. :c
Oh, and I'm one of the ones who thinks he was killed, not committed suicide. >> He was a depressed guy, but not at the time. And just... it all adds up to murder. >> But I won't get into that unless someone wants to discuss it with me.
Anyway, yes. Nirvana = awesome.

My husband is a huge fan of theirs. He idolized Kurt. I love their music, something I had to admit to my own husband which hurt to do, anyone who is married might know what I mean, (you don't want your spouse to know you like some of the same things they do). Cherry- I am so happy to see another person who truly believes he was murdered. How on earth can anyone blow their brains out with a shot gun with no prints, shoes on and tied.... You can't, but you know he's a tragic artist (only cause of his drugs) and no one cares that his blankity blank wife offed him. I feel so bad for Frances. And to make matters worse. She looks like her mother......

I think they're alright, if not dreadfully overrated. >_>
I listen to them occasionally, but there's better stuff in the world. Kurt's vocals are weird, and if he hadn't killed himself he probably wouldn't have half the fame he does. But that's how it always goes, right?

I don't get what you mean about not wanting to like the same things as your husband... isn't shared interests a good thing?

Also,

I'd say they look quite a lot alike. She has her mother's nose, but I think she looks incredibly like him.

I loved Nirvana in highschool and into my early 20's... but now listening to Nirvana is as nostalgic as it is depressing. I can't be in a bad mood listening to it or I get saddened.

I've got a healthy respect for Nirvana. I like quite a few of their songs, but I'm not a super-fan.

I do remember, though, when Kurt died. My ex-step-sister was a huge fan, and she had her closet door covered in pictures of him. When she found out he'd committed suicide, she tore all of the pictures down and trashed them. I've always remembered that, and it still makes me sad. That someone could be admired so much, and yet still be so miserable is an absolute tragedy.
