"I think so to." Lucina smiled, almost dreamily as she thought of what the festical might look like. "At least the weather will be sunny. There won't be any rain for another week or week and a half." Lucina said cheerfully. "Though tomorrow is going to be stifling hot. The day after that though will even out for a while. Perfect weather for a festival."

Shinorah simply shook her head with a small chuckle. Lucina was an odd one, she had to admit, but she couldn't help but like her. It was a nice change to the usual Irish folk in their town, refreshing in a sense.

"If it's t' be hot, I feel bad fer poor Adrian. He'll be out in th' fields again makin' sure th' crops 're okay 'n' makin' sure there's nothin' invadin' th' fields," Shinorah said with a sigh, "But it'll be a nice day t' scrub th' house out 'n' open th' windows."

"Should he drink alot of water then?" Lucina asked curiously. "Isn't that healthy if you're going to be out in the hot sun?" She asked with her eyebrows raised slightly. She'd never spent much time learning about human illnesses and health. No time in fact. She'd always found much more interesting things to do with her time.

"Aye, I'll have t' send Lori t' him with somethin' cool t' drink at least once an hour, dependin' on heat. She'll hate all th' runnin' back 'n' forth, but she really doesn't 'ave a choice unless she wants t' work in the fields," she added with a laugh as she continued sewing the bodice with a tiny stitch.

"I wouldn't mind helping to bring water to him." Lucina offered, more attracted to the idea of seeing Adrian then she was relieving Lori of a chore.

Shinorah couldn't help but chuckle as she continued her stitching and teased, "I'm mighty grateful fer yer offerin' t' always help when it comes t' Adrian. It'll be good fer Lori t' start workin' 'round th' house 'n' learnin' the ways o' runnin' a household instead o' lookin' after Adrian fer me so much. I'm always thankful fer an extra set o' hands. 're ye sure ye don' mind bein' 'round Adrian so much? I know he can be a bit o' a handful sometimes."

"I'm sure I can manage." Lucina laughed as she ducked her head to hide the small blush that rose to her cheeks as she remembered that afternoon. Shaking the thought from her head, Lucina looked back up at Shinorah with her face back to the milky cream color as it usually was.

Shinorah nodded, "Aye, I think ye can. Ye seem like a strong girl, ye'll fit in with th' family just fine. Fer th' duration o' yer stay, I mean. I didn't mean I expected ye t' marry me son 'r anythin'." Sighing, now flustered with a blush on her cheeks, Shinorah looked over at Lucina and spoke softly, "Wha' I'm tryin' t' say is, ye don' need t' feel like yer an outcast while in our home jus' because yer not blood related."

"Thank you." Lucina said, choosing to ignore the comment about marrying Adrian in case another blush betrayed her. "But I"m quite sure that Adrian has much better offers for a wife then a woman who will be leaving in just a short year. There's no need to waste his time." Lucina laughed, almost sadly at the realization.

Shinorah laughed, "Adrian? Bet'er offers? That boy has rejected so many women I've tried settin' 'im up with I've lost count. Ye've gotten closer t' him in the short time ye've been here than any girl I've tried set'in' him up with. But yer right, he needs someone more permanent t' marry, than someone leavin' so soon. But perhaps ye'll change yer mind about leavin' when th' time comes. We'll just 'ave t' see," she said with a smile as she finished the bodice and one sleeve and began working on another.

Its not my decision though... Lucina sighed to herself, not bothering to explain such things to Shinorah. She probably shouldn't have even told Adrian but she'd hate for the entire house to think she was a straggler from the streets. Trying to stifle a yawn, Lucina covered her mouth delicately as a small yawn escaped.

"Lucina, love, if ye wish t' turn in early, feel free. I should 'ave a dress 'r two fer ye done by mornin'. I'll work on more tomorrow on me rests from cleanin'," promised Shinorah with a smile as she continued sewing.

"Thank you." Lucina said, letting out another small yawn as she walked over to Shinorah and put her arms around the older woman. "And thank you for the dresses." She said before hurrying off for her room where she quickly changed into nightclothes and washed her face, chest, and arms. Lucina had wanted to say goodnight to Adrian but wasn't going to risk a run in with Lori. Lucina was in a good mood and she didn't want the baby girl to ruin it.

"I'll tell mum yer not comin' fer dinner. Night Adrian," called Lori as she shut his door and headed downstairs to start a small dinner of sandwiches and vegetables.

Stretching, Adrian got up from his bed and went over to his dresser to wash up and change for bed. After doing so, Adrian slipped back into bed and resumed reading his novel.

Lucina felt a small smile creep to her lips as she heard Lori disappear into the kitchen. Running a brush threw her already silky hair, Lucina stared nervously at the mirror as he decision wavered. She didn't want to seem needy but she wanted to say goodnight at least. It was polite, really.

Setting down the brush, Lucina quietly left her room and knocked softly on Adrian's door. "Adrian?" She asked softly, afraid he was already asleep. "I wanted to say goodnight." She offered, wanting to hit herself from sounding like a child. She wanted to turn and run back to her room to hide under the covers but it was to late for that now.

"Ye came all th' way up 'ere jus' t' say g'night?" Adrian called with a smile as he put his book down on the bed, after marking his page with one of Lori's ribbons that she turned into a bookmark for him, and slipped from under the covers. Opening the door, Adrian chuckled as he looked down at Lucina, "G'night Lu, pleasant dreams."

Lucina felt suddenly very shy, her face a brilliant red as she looked down. "Night, then." She said softly before turning back down the hall and burying herself under her blankets, cursing herself for going down to his room in the first place.

Following her down the hall after a few moments, Adrian knocked on her door and he called softly, "Lu? Can I come in fer a second? Ye left too soon." Adrian had hoped she'd kiss him. He missed her lips already. But what if she didn't want him after all, and that afternoon was just a fluke? Maybe he was making a big mistake right now and making everything awkward by coming to her room just to give her a kiss goodnight.

Lucina peeked her head out from under the covers before crawling to sit upwards. "Come on in." Lucina smiled as she fidgeted slightly in the bed, unsure of what he'd wanted. Out of nervous habit, Lucina brought her hair over one shoulder and ran her fingers through the strands.

Opening the door, Adrian gave her a small smile as he walked nervously over to her and sat on her bed. Brushing the strands lightly from her cheek, Adrian placed a soft, tender kiss upon her lips. Caressing her cheek with his thumb, Adrian smiled, "Ye left 'fore I could give ye a kiss g'night."

Lucina smiled shyly as she took one of Adrian's hands in her own. She felt guilty for enjoying his kiss, knowing that him being with her was only a waste of his time. She'd be gone in a year and she was only distracting him from a woman who would be able to spend a lifetime with him. Lucina gave Adrian another shy kiss, the guilt knotting in her stomach. "Goodnight." She whispered against his lips before pulling away from him slightly.

Adrian sighed as she pulled back. Looking down at the blanket, which he suddenly found very interesting as he picked at it, Adrian spoke softly, "Lu.. I'm sorry.. I prob'ly shouldn't 'ave done that.. Yer probably not lookin' t' get involved since yer leavin' in a year.. I'm sorry I kissed ye so much, it was selfish o' me. I promise I won' do it again," he added before standing from the bed and heading to the door. Opening it, he looked back at Lucina with a small smile, "G'night Lu, sleep well." With that, he exited her bedroom, shutting the door softly behind him, before heading towards his own bedroom.

"Adrian." Lucina said, hurrying out of her bed almost clumisly as she made her way to the hallway. Reaching out, Lucina took Adrian's arm to stop him for leaving her before she got a chance to say what she wanted. "It wasn't selfish of you." She explained carefully. "Its just...I'm going to be gone in a year. And you won't live nearly as long as I will. I just think that I'm being selfish myself by wanting to be with you. You should be with someone who will be there for you for a lifetime and I'm taking that away from you." Lucina said shyly, her cheeks a light shade of pink.

Adrian sighed as he reached out and caressed her cheek, "Looks like we're both selfish, huh.. It's just, I don' think I'll ever find someone I care about as much as I care about you, Lu, human or not. I'm sorry I'm causin' ye so much trouble.. If ye'd rather I stay away.." he offered sadly, not daring to look her in the eyes as he shifted his gaze down to the floor, afraid of her answer.

"I don't want you to stay away from me." Lucina admitted quietly, cupping Adrian's face gently to bring his eyes back to her. "Better to have loved then lost then to have never loved at all." She said. "That's the mortal saying, no?"
