I enjoy most fish, but I can't eat it raw. I'm just not a sushi kind of girl. I've tried it many times and don't enjoy it at all.

Alligator tasted a lot like duck to me. It was a dark sort of meat that reminded me of duck.

These puppies are driving me crazy! I think they're teething, so they want to chew on things but it hurts, so they're crying x_x We need a puppy teething ring.

Really? The alligator meat I had was pretty white and tasted soft like fish o__o;; I only had one bite of it though, so I guess the taste hadn't really stuck with me...

Really. I watched a show that explained why people think so many different kinds of meat taste like chicken XD It's because you're eating a similar muscled structure. They invited in some chefs to taste different kinds of meat to see if they could tell what they were. They used guinea pigs, frogs and gator and all that. They had a hard time telling them apart because they're so similar.

I'm tempted to say that if what you had was soft like a fish it wasn't alligator, because alligator is a muscular tough meat.

I've heard a cool wet rag helps. But right now the boy puppy is chewing on his sister -_-

Yeah. There's a lot of them around here so people eat them regularly, but for me it was a sort of novelty thing. When people come to visit we'll take them out for Cajun food. It's not something we eat every day though because my family is actually from a different part of the country.

She bites back, so it's ok XD She's spunkier than he is. He's a whiney butt.

I want Cajun food! :drool: I don't think I've ever eaten it before, actually. Used to live in Texas but we don't go out for food all that often and just stay home and eat rice and other stuff we bought from the Chinese supermarkets, mostly :XD

Aww, that's funny too, because Cajuns like rice. There's red beans and rice, which is very yummy. Jambalaya and Etouffee also have rice. They use a lot of cayenne pepper and hot sauce. The Tabasco sauce plant is just a few minutes drive from here. Plus Southerners like their fried foods, so fried catfish and shrimp. And you can't forget the boiled crawfish. I hate peeling crawfish. I usually don't eat them unless someone else peels them for me XD

So where are you originally from and why did you live in Texas? ^_^

The puppies are cute. One's under my chair now and the other is in my laundry pile. But my dogs don't want to hang out with them, so they're in out in the hall.

I have no idea XD I was born in Texas, but I've lived in Taiwan for the most of my life. My mom works there and my dad works in Taiwan, so...:P

XD My parents are from Rhode Island. My dad moved to Louisiana with the oil business, so I was born here but we went to Rhode Island to visit my grandparents every summer, so I never really soaked in the culture. I don't speak like I'm from around here. In High School, my dad got transferred to Scotland, so we lived there for two years before moving back here. Since then I've lived in Rhode Island for a while and in California briefly.

I've got this weird Beijing accent stuck with me too, I call it weird because I've never been to China before, so I have no idea where the accent came from >__> The only person in our family that spoke with such an accent was my grandmother, but the times I've spent with her before she passed away had been less than a month in the total of my 20 years of life. Both my parents don't speak like that either, so it's just bizarre :(

@Knitted: Well, it depends. You'll need to bring a long shampoo and soap, and laundry powder and all that basic stuff, tooth brush, tooth paste, pencils, pens, notebooks, folders, tissue paper, ...etc. etc. You can also buy them when you get there, but bringing them beforehand's easier ^_^; You might want to bring along some snacks and preservative food too in case you get hungry at night and all the shops are closed, etc.

Yeah, and I've got all my bedding and most meals paid for...
