If it helps, I was just as shy as you were. Though I admit, I was sleep deprived and slightly hyper at the time, which made me do nutsy stuff...hm...anyway. The Wallflowers is a definitely good place to start. Everyone's friendly and ready to help. It can get overcrowded sometimes, but it makes it more fun too. Take your time and talk when your comfortable, okay? No one's going to force you to. ^^
