@crazymuch: I agree with Zaza: get evidence together, including "expert" opinion, and do a bit of research on what tubs should have. It really sounds like a faulty job to me, but I obviously can't see the tub. But the bathroom should really be able to handle water on the floor.

Hey Zaza, you missed out on seeing Valen naked for reals.

Yeah, a bathroom, properly made and floored, should be able to handle water on the floor. You get out from showers and baths and even if you dry off well, accidents happen, water backs up, toilets overflow. Some splashing shouldn't ruin it. The fact that he didn't replace the wood when you know it was bad isn't good.

YES! that is what I wanted to hear! the bathroom floor should be able to handle water on it! there is no good reason why water should be able to seep under the tub into the floor and then have gravity cause these problems! that is my argument! I don't see how I would have to pay for something like this.

oh well, we'll just have to wait until the maintenance guy comes on Friday and takes off the wooden strip that is supposed to be decoration over the caulking and see what kinda job was done.

I'm hoping that the recaulk will seal it all up and the heat of the summer will dry out everything and there won't have to be any construction.
