Yes, there is another one for the DS in Japan I guess too, so there will be two of them for the DS. I have already played MR 1,2,3,4, evo, advance (for the GBA), and advance 2. I know, I'm a dork. >.<

Ole: I don't know about the timeline of the shows. I remember it being in the U.S. after pokemon I think though. The show was from the games. The games were before the show and most people only know of the show, which makes me sad because the games are so fun!

Oh really? Yeah, I wasn't sure because I never really saw the show until it was on cable tv like way after it was made originally. You know how cable channels get ahold of older shows and beat them into the ground? xD

For any of you that don't know I'm going to quote my good friend wikipedia here:

Monster Rancher, known in Japan as Monster Farm (モンスターファーム Monsutā Fāmu?), is a series of Life Simulation video games developed and published by Tecmo. The Monster Rancher series currently consists of fourteen games across different video game platforms, and future titles are planned. In addition, the series has been adapted into a anime series which spanned three seasons.

What's the storyline?

You basically raise monsters on a ranch. You feed them, train them, raise their stats and then battle them! There are many games in the series so they get more complex as it progresses. Such as being able to put cute accessories on your monsters and complexity in breeding and such.

The most unique thing about these games is how you get the monsters. You insert CDS (for the playstation versions) into your system and it reads the disc and generates a monster from that data. For later games like the game boy advance games, you type in words to generate monsters. In the new DS versions you will be able to say things in the microphone and stuff to generate them.
